Aether slowly opened her golden eyes, surveying the wide view of the landscape before her. The young adult was lying serenely on a low rise of a hill covered in lush green grass. Despite the winter season, this area had remained rich in foliage and warm weather. It was as if a tiny portion of spring had persevered through the other seasons to rest in this small corner of the world. The hill upon which she sat sloped gently down to melt into a meadow. The flowers of that meadow peeked out unobtrusively from the surrounding emerald grass. If she squinted the colors blended together, forming strange blobs of warm lavendar, cool azure, brilliant maroon. The wind picked up, tossing about the leaves of the trees that created a ring around her meadow. Dogwood, oak, pine...the trees nearby ranged extrordinarily. It seemed like a unique retreat in a mountainous atmosphere, without the cold fingers of winter to interfere.
Aether sighed in contentment. Never had she dreamed of finding a secret place like this. The icy season of Jack Frost had never really appealed to her. The bright colors of her fur harkened to the warm touch of spring more than anything else. Her nature did not mesh well with snow and the cold breath of its chilly wind. Snowflakes and snowmen were enjoyable, but only in moderation. This place, possibly because it lacked the harsher elements, felt like home. The only question now was whether or not she was alone in her paradise. Breaking away from her thoughts, Aether sat up and stretched, looking about her to decide what wonders the day would bring.

Nyao was like a child, always humming and prancing and playing. Never once had she been ashamed of being seen together with the smaller ulayas. Today she had not seen any small ones so she was by herself.
Nyao stopped moving afterawhile and lay down on the lush cool grass. she breathed in, ' Oh HOW sweet is the air today... It is the smell of LUCK i say ' she thought to herself smiling broadly. Nyao was an ulaya of positive attitude and never gives up. Unknown to herself, she can effect others moods too!
Today Nyao observed the landscape with her large multicolored eyes. The adults were with their mates... The singles were resting unders trees or just like her just enjoying the view...
Nyao decided that she had rested enough and stood up, took a few steps, only to trip on a pebble, of all things and slide down the smooth grass to sort-of crash into another ulaya. Face down and butt up high in the air, she flushed hotly. Immediatly she opened her right eye to see who she bumped into, only to see a purple ball of fluff...

Aether saw a dark, furry body catapult out of the corner of her eye before she was lying flat on the ground, immersed in her carpet of flowers. Groaning a bit, she lay still, checking to see that she had not been severely injured by her 'crash.' Once satisfied that she was physically fine, she turned to the one who had suddenly disrupted the peaceful scene. Seeing an adult female about her age lying a few inches away, she sat up and closed the distance between herself and the other. "Are you all right?" she asked, a concerned look falling upon her features. She nudged the other's fluffy tail a bit, wondering at its multi-colored, unique nature. Waiting for the other's response, she watched her newest companion intently.

Nyao wriggled her fluffy tail, and then shook her butt. She took in a deep breath, she was glad her lower half was alright. Now for her upper!
She moved her left paw, and then her right and slowly jiggled her way up to sitting position. "AH!" She said smiling to herself and shaking out a few leaves that got stuck in her hair.
Finally she raised her head and looked to the owner of purple fluff, the girl was gorgeous! Maybe even prettier than Nyao herself! Nyao stared blanky for a moment, frozen in shock.
She snapped out of it and shook her head. She looked up again. " Hi! I- uh.. sorry, i was uh.. walking and then i sorta.. like uh.. slipped." She said clumsily feeling her face go hot. Embarrassed, she hid her face with one paw and pointed the other towards the little hill full of lush, smooth, green grass.

Aether smiled as her "attacker" sat up, apparently unhurt. That was a relief. It would be awful to start the day with an injury. She watched, amused, as the other's face began to shift from it's normal black color to a red that rivaled the nearby bright flowers. Noting the direction that her embarrassed companion was pointing, Aether glanced in the same direction. She viewed a small hill covered in emerald green grass. Since the morning dew had settled on the grass and not yet dried, the path that the young female had traveled down the hill was remarkably obvious. During her fall she had wiped off the dew, making the grass she passed over seem even greener. "You must have slipped because of the damp grass. At least your fall was relatively soft." Aether smiled again, gently nudgind the other. Hopefully, her welcoming attitude would ease the other's discomfort.

Nyao beamed at the lovely female, she didn't scold nyao for being careless OR look the least bit angry like some other people might. The day was fine and calm but the atmosphere between them girls was SO welcoming nyao just HAD to laugh a cheery laugh.
" SO! My name is nyao, and who might you be?" She said smiling towards the other, her multi colored eyes glittering.

Relaxing happily in the now-warm sunlight, Aether responded, "My name is Aether. It's a pleasure to make your accquaintance Nyao." Flashing the other her brightest smile, the female carefully noted her companion's shimmering eyes and twinkling laughter. It seemed that she had been run over by a cheerful, charismatic character. Happiness filled her at that realization. Perhaps she had found a friend. That would be quickly a lucky coincidence for Aether had few friends. She retained a carefree attitude, but couldn't help the slightly sad shadow upon her social life. Change would not be a bad thing.
