i love pretty much all of the music i have played... but high on my list is 'el camino real' by alfred reed. alfred reed's pieces in general are effing hard, but that's what makes them worthwhile. woodwinds on acid. :]

So I have several favorites: -October by Eric Whittacre: this is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever played and heard in all my band years. -American Elegy: I heard the 11th-12th grade All-County band play this last year and it was amazing. Also has a great trumpet solo! -Echoes by Samuel R. Hazo: it's a really great peice to play. it's one of those slow songs you can really get into. -I also love Samuel R. Hazo's "Ride" and "Exultate". Those are some amazing pieces to play.

Last year in Jazz Band we played "Augustus Gloop" from Willy Wonka... It was great. The Trombone part was s much fun... We've been begging Mrs. BD to let us play it again for Jazz Band but she won't let us TT3TT
And we just did a medley of Circus Music called "Barnum and Baily's favorites" which was lots of fun... Me our Tuba and the huge sax's (I don't know what they're called) had a solo-ish thing... Twas excellent...
And again, last year in Jazz band we did a song called "Breezin'" Two words, "Trombone solo" mrgreen
