Dimitri Arv was originally a kappa, but he had to switch to serpent demon because he couldn't keep his head up. Three days after the switch, he was framed for killing one of the higher up demons. Seeing that he would get no peace, he left. The authorities, however, refused to let him escape. Soon, they had chased him around the demon world and cornered him. There was a trial and he was sentenced to exile.

The authorities, not knowing anything about the mortal world, figured Dimitri would need his power to change and manipulate water to survive, so he kept them. When he got to the mortal world, the first thing Dimitri did was vow he would find a serene place to think on the mistakes of the demon council. So he went off into the world. First, he came to a farm. Fearing scaring the owners, he stayed in human form. The family dog, however, could smell the demon blood and attacked, so Dimitri fled.
