A long, drawn-out sigh came from the back of the couch within the caverns. It seemed to have emerged from the metallic-sheened blue banthi sprawled out there, however the banthi in question was a little bit bigger than a common house-cat. The banthi looked like a cub in all honesty, but there was... something about it that didn't make it a cub. "I'm booooooored!" Kaelyn announced, lifting her head from where it was resting on her paws. "Booooored," she repeated, emphasizing it.

But... then something caught her attention. "So booored!" She repeated, springing to her paws. "Bored! Bored! Boooooored! Boorrrrrrred!" The pygmy giggled, flicking her wings as she continued to sound out the word, taking delight in the different ways to pronounce it. "Bbbbbored! Boredh! Awww, I can't get a good "duh!" sound on the end!"

With the explosion of noise through the normally dormant common area of the caverns, a restless rumble resonated from a corner of the room opposite to the source of the noise. There, a giant orange and black form lay snoozing, a massive paw slipping out from under his furry mane being the only acknowledgment. In a moment the heavy breathing of the large beast returned as the alpha male of the clan drifted happily back to sleep. His tail-tip twitched once and awhile as is he dreamed of something enjoyable.

"Boorrrreeeeeek!" Kaelyn jumped and whirred her wings as fast as she could, nearly crashing into the ceiling in a frantic attempt to get away from... From whatever that was! "Eeeekity eeek!" She added after a pause, her bright blue eyes darting around the caverns. Where did it come from? What was -- ooh, what's that?

The hummingthi dropped down and flit over to where Amon slept, pausing in one spot then moving aside to another, studying the sleeping alpha. She tilted her head one way, then tilted it another after she hovered to a new spot. This... This looked like something to play with! "WAKEY WAAAAAKEY!" she shouted, abruptly folding her wings to fall onto the alpha and bounce once, twice. "Wake up, wake up! Play time pleeeeaaaaaaase!"

Amon had been content to return to his venture into happy-happy dreamland but it appeared as if it just wasn't a good time. The large tiger chuffed a groaning exhale as his ears flicked irritatedly at the hovering hummingbird banthi, his eyelids squinting as he fought to return to his state of deep sleep. All was ruined once the tiny banthi dive-bombed his prone form and bounced like a shrill, furry alarm clock. The male's emerald eyes shot open as he awoke with a start, nearly tossing Kaelyn halfway across the room with the speed in which he jumped to attention. Sitting in a dazed stupor, his hazy eyes fought to focus on the buzzing little nuisance that had startled him awake. Admittedly, he couldn't recall ever meeting this.... thing before but clearly they were on friendly terms.

That is, before he was rudely woken up.

"See here, what's that racket?" The tiger banthi tried to sound authoritatively annoyed but most of his stern tone was lost in the struggle to keep down a yawn.

Kaelyn squeaked in surprise as Amon's startled awakening threw her, but with the flick of a wrist her wings were unfurled and pumping furiously to turn what could have been a painful landing into a VERY fun launch. Kaelyn giggled at Amon's tone, flying over and dropping onto his back when he was up. "Again!" She cried, "Do it again! Again! That was fuuuun! Pleasepleaseplease I'm boooored and there's no one else around to plaaaay and I'm not supposed to go outside 'cause there's scary things out there an' an' that was fun! Throw me again!"

"Where's your mother at?" The confused banthi frowned, mistaking the hummingbird for a common -though extremely hyperactive- cub as he strained to look over his own shoulder at the fluttering beastie on his back. His fluffed tail thrashed in annoyance and his ears pinned back but the gentle alpha merely sat in his spot, refusing to ever bring harm to even the most trying of youngsters.

"Mother? Whassa mooother?" Kaelyn replied, halting her plea to tilt her head to one side and regard the alpha quizzically. When he sat down, the pygmy shrieked with laughter, scrambling at the Alpha's back in an attempt to stay on. She didn't use her claws, choosing instead to giggle as she slid down, down, down onto the ground. She ducked under his wing and bounded in front of him. "Ooou! You look cool!" She exclaimed, her small jaw dropping in amazement as she noticed (for it seemed the first time) Amon's extra horns. "Play s'more, mister-mister?"

Amon's eyed bulged as Kaelyn streaked down his back to evidently land on his tail, shivering the skin on his back when she was clear and out of the way. Her response wasn't uncommon as many cubs awoke from gems rediscovered amongst the ancient caverns with no specific parents to care for them, but he was curious as to wear this very unique individual had been spawned from exactly. "Oh? Heh... thanks!" The alpha beamed as his ego was boosted, pleasantly surprised by the compliment. "Hm..." With a short scan of the empty living area, he realized he was the only one present at the moment who was fit to entertain such a demanding cub. Sadly he submitted to the task as a duty to his clan as much as any other reason. "Play? What games would you like to play... and what do I call the little hyperactive bird before me, hm?" He couldn't help but smile at her innocence.

Kaelyn bounced from paw to paw, watching him look around. Man, when would they do something? If he wasn't going to -- ah! And then his attention centered on her again. "A game!" she responded immediately, "'cause ya can't play anything else other then a game! I went outside to play tag once and, and..." She paused, scrunching up her small face trying to think. "And... And I'm Kae an' Lyn! I'm supposed to be called both but I respond to either! Or Kaaaaelyn in case ya wanna have my full name 'cause it's only poooolite to say that and... and..." She tilted her head to one side, narrowing her eyes. "And... I forgot what comes next. 'm sorry." The pymgy's ears drooped at this for a moment, then perked up and looked at the alpha. "SO! Wanna play? You're a bit too big for hide'n'seek!"

Amon's eyebrow slowly raised as he watched the excitable banthi hop around and answer in her own nonsensical manner. In between wondering if her gem had been severely damaged before her awakening, he tried desperately to think of a game she could focus her attention on for more than two seconds. His nose unconsciously scrunched up in an expression that almost mimicked her own as he watched her mentally struggle to put together the origins of her actual name. "Kaelyn, that's nice." The banthi rumbled, wishing someone would walk in at that moment as a distraction. "I'm Amon, by the way. Hm... You like playiiiing..." The word TAG came to mind as well as a flood of images of broken furniture and a living room literally turned upside down and the alpha quickly decided that was NOT a good choice. "Um... well, we can play hid n' go seek. And YOU can hide? I'm sure there's plenty of places for you to hide..."

"Yay! Thank you! I like my name too! What about you, mister-mister?" She asked, bouncing forward to poke at his foreleg. "Huhhuh? 'cause mister-mister isn't really a name an' you don't look like a mister-mister. Are you a stripey-mister? 'cause you have stripes'n'stuffs!" Oh, wait. Didn't he just answer that? "Oopsie, sorry mister Amon-a-mon! I tripped over my paws agaaaaain." She sat back and lifted a hind leg to scratch the back of her neck -- a human-like gesture, so she wasn't entirely a stray banthi.

"But if we play hide'n'seek," she began, "And you find me, you'll have a hard time hidin' for me to find you! That's not very fun for you 'cause I bet I can find you superfastlikewow!" She puffed up her chest and fanned her wings out in a vain attempt to look bigger. I'm a mean, teeny, flyin' machine!"

"You're somethin' alright." The tiger banthi sighed, ears drooping pathetically as he began to slouch. It was hard enough to follow along in a conversation let along try and coherently play a game to entertain this little ball of obnoxious energy. He silently wondered why she wouldn't just go and play with a table lamp or something instead. "You haven't seen me play hide n' seek missy, you can't judge my skill without knowing my skill!" He attempted to play along, knowing it was futile to try and justify the obvious disadvantage. "Besides, I've been playing that game way before YOU were born, that's for sure." He waited for her approval, flexing his wings so that the joints loosened until they drooped like the rest of his stature. If worst came to worst, he figured he could always kick her out into the snow and leave her to the squirrels outside.

Kaelyn beamed at Amon -- even if he meant it sarcastically, it went over her shot-attention spanned head. She looked surprised at his boast of skill, her muzzle forming a little "o" of surprise. "Really?!" The cub looked eager, rearing up on her hind legs and spreading her wings for balance. "Reallyreally? You're a hide'n'seek champ? Woooow!" Clearly she was amazed -- awestruck, too. "But! Um, um," she fumbled, "Is there anyone else here too? 'cause the more the merrier an' I don't want anyone to be left out 'cause hide'n'seek is fun an' an' someone not havin' fun an' just watching's kinda mean so is there anyone else that can play too? I can't find anyone so I've been booooored 'til I heard you yep yep!"

Amon winced at Kaelyn's enthusiasm though he had to admit she was pretty cute and expressive for such a young banthi. Unfortunately the older alpha was already beginning to feel ill at the sheer amount of energy he imagined himself needing to exert in order to keep up with her games. The tiger looked pathetically towards the entrance to the caverns and prayed for someone, something to rescue him. "Uh well... I'm sure we can find... someone?"

Kaelyn lowered herself to the ground and jumped up, unfurling her wings and flapping at a blinding speed until she was eye-level with the alpha. She hovered there, wagging her tail frantically as if that was what was keeping her aloft. "Reallyreally?!" She beamed, "So we're not alone? There's more?! YAY! That means more fun and lots of excitement and something to do! I'll help! I'll go look this way!" She flew higher and above the alpha, flying further into the caverns on a hunt for the elusive playmates. Hurray, they were going to play!

Amon nearly went cross-eyed as Kaelyn hovered precariously in front of his face like some evil little moth from Hell. The alpha's tail stiffened as he watched her jittery movements but was even more surprised when she suddenly took off. He sat there for a moment unable to register the event, her little shadow making funny shapes on the rock walls as she traveled down a hall he knew to be safe though... very unoccupied. For a moment he even felt bad for her. "STAY SAFE!" He called out to her as she disappeared into the black and the silence that followed reminded him of the very reason he was so... so... SO incredible glad she was gone for the moment.

Figuring she'd be alright on her own, the tiger gave a cubbish whoop and went streaking down the hall like a bat out of hell to take refuge in Rabid's bedroom for a very long time.
