Home Life RP for Felicity/Thobias.

His evening began with a crashing sound followed by thudding and then the commonplace mumbling that he used in place of cursing to spare little ears. Quite the common sound in the house these days. What would it mean exactly? Oh just that he had tripped over one of the many baby gates that spanned almost every doorway in the house...it had been months, and one would think he would remember that they were all over the house...but almost without fail at least twice a week when he woke just after sunset, he would trip and most likely fall over said gates. The twins thought it was hilarious.

Getting himself up, he made his way to the kitchen to make bottles and get meals. Simple mix of blood and choice drink in a bottle, a little warm cereal in a bowl for each. And of course pulling out the ever present teething toys for the day. Just starting little fangs loved to get into anything they could, especially if it drew blood...was better to just give them something to gnaw on to alleviate all of that. That is of course when they weren't busy crawling around and what not...active little guys. Had been a tad hard to adjust to them at first, as well as juggle schedules around to accommodate the children being watched after Sam went back to work. Though work provided daycare was a good thing on Sam's side. She could be close to her babies. But right now, it was Saturday, and it was his day off...well at least from college kids that weren't his own.

Prep done, he headed upstairs to grab the little bundles of joy...stepping over the baby gate this time. They were still asleep in their crib they shared, their heads and knees touching with their plushes squished between the two of them. A cute sight indeed. Lowering the side of the crib, he reached in to brush a hand over their hair, causing both of them to stir and squirm. They were quite acquainted to the routine now: When it was time to wake, eat, play, nap, and so on and so forth.

Though to be honest, he'd been monitoring his son's physical appearance more so than his daughter's. After all...the men in the Calder bloodline seemed to have an odd trait about them (he assumed it was probably vampirically genetic) that could happen well up to three years after they were born. Xearus himself had it. But a grin to them as they blinked awake with cute little yawns that showed emerging points of tiny fangs and hands rubbing at eyes. "Evening kiddos."

Big green eyes met the gray before him and he gave a crooked little smile of recognition then pushed himself to a sitting position. His other hand reached out automatically for his sister to ensure she was there and he waited patiently while she was lifted out of the crib. He and his father both knew that if Lici wasn't pulled out first, she'd start to cry. Watching his father settled his sister, he picked up the plushes and pushed them to the back corner of the crib, setting them the way he liked them then lifted his own arms. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and yawning again, he glanced down at his tummy as it made a loud grumbling noise and patted it.

She sat herself up and rubbed at her eyes, lifting her arms in the universal pick me up gesture to her father as they were woken up. Feeling his hands slip around her under her arms and pick her up, she cuddled against his shoulder and duly popped her thumb in her mouth. Hm, not quite ready to be awake yet.

Smiling at his son as he daughter settled on his shoulder he reached in and expertly lifted the boy out with his free arm, supporting him with it against his other shoulder. Had definiately gotten good at this double handling thing. "Yeah I know, breakfast time." Thusly carting the two down to the kitchen and setting them each in their highchairs, handing each a bottle, promptly going about checking their fangs a moment before heading over to grab a spoon to feed them.

While he was doing that she was busy reaching over and playing with her brother's hand as he other held tight to her bottle, every now and then drinking from it with a noise or two to her twin.

He watched everything as he was carried, reaching out for some things along the way. He managed to snag a small glass statue of a rocking horse from one of the shelves he'd been carried past and he held it in his hands carefully as if he sensed it was breakable. Daddy hadn't seen it yet because he'd kept it tight in his palm and then in his lap as his bottle had been handed over. Setting the rocking horse on his tray, he watched in curious delight as it steadily moved when his finger touched one side or the other. His sister's noises merely had him petting her arm or squeezing her fingers and he tapped his tray to call her attention to it then studied her as if she could tell him what it was. Ignoring his bottle for now, too fascinated by the figurine.

That was new and that was pretty too. Her eyes watched the subtle movement of the little figure as well as her attention had been drawn to it. She reached to grab at it with a noise, but it was a little too far away and she merely smacked his tray, rattling it and thus making the horse move some more, to her squeal of delight.

"Hey hey hey, we don't play with mommy's dust collectors." Affectionately called dust collectors he supposed...he wasn't the one who dusted them so he had no room to talk about them, or so his wife said. Walking back to the two high chairs he kicked a stool from the breakfast bar over so he had something to sit on before them, gently plucking the figurine off the tray and away from danger and instead settling down before them and flashing the bright plastic spoons at them.

She gave a noise of protest and scrunched up her face for a moment as if she was threatening to cry...until electric purple caught her attention and she merely worked her jaw a moment before opening her mouth, fully expecting that spoon to be filled and plopped in.

He held up a finger in front of his son so he would look...and then slowly moved it and tapped on the bottle to get his attention there. THey were tracking movement by now, just had to be slow. "Well...at least we know you two are smart." Shaking his head lightly and indeed being talented with feeding them...as twins you really couldn't show preferences over them, thus he had learned to feed them both at the same time with one hand each. He was good.

He watched it rock a little more violently and frowned when it was taken away but his attention was duly snagged by a neon green spoon. Watching the moving finger, he reached out and snagged his father's wrist, pulling it closer to him and studying his watch for a moment before picking up his bottle and draining a fourth of it in a few swallows. Then it was onto eating the oatmeal but he kept trying to get a closer look at the watch though he didn't touch.

It seemed shiny things were going to be the object of the day to get into. Yesterday it was fuzzy things. Thobias had seemed to be rather curious lately and Felicity was so because he was...Xearus has a suspicion she was in it for the fun rather than curiosity...and since when was static electricity not fun anyway? But for the moment he tended to feeding them the small amount of food till it was all gone and left then to finish off thier bottles...they pretty much could gather by now that bottles always had to be finished. More so for the blood in them than anything else. Sam didn't want to give them large amounts of straight blood yet.

"Finish for me Toby and I'll let you see daddy's watch." Yeah he knew the boy was eyeing it, and then a look to his daughter. "And you Lici...finish and daddy'll let you out of your chair." She seemed to be more inclined and more ready to get to the moving business, she was already standing herself up with the help of stable furniture or nearby pantlegs.

Tummy was happy now as it was full and both hands anchored on her bottle, she steadily drained it of it's contents, or at least as much as she could get...and promptly on to chewing on the avaliable little toy that was on the tray as well as she waited for her brother, but pausing to seemingly give him some encouraging noises before back to gnawing.

It never took him long to eat. He mostly did it because he knew his parents wanted him to and his tummy yelled at him if he didn't. He was more interested in Daddy's watch than his bottle and ended up sucking air for a few moments before he realized it was gone. Turning his bottle upside down, he shook it and then frowned as it slipped out of his hand, bounced against his tray, and went over the side. Well, that wasn't supposed to happen. But it was a clear enough gesture that it was gone. He pushed a hand through his hair and then grasped the sides of the tray to look down at the bottle, rolling a few inches before it stopped. Hmm...

"I'll take that as a you're done." Leaning over, he picked up the bottle, grabbing Lici's and they were duly washed out and set to dry. Dishes in the house that would sit for a few hours before didn't do that anymore. They were done as soon as they were finished with, what with little ones in the house. Plucking them both out of their chairs he wandered to the living room with them and set them down on a blanket on the floor for a moment. Heading to his office, he grabbed a file of tests he had to grade, coming back out with a german shepard trailing his heels.

A command to sit for the dog, dropping down his papers and then getting the box of toys the kids had he brought it over to them so they could rifle through it. Finally it was a matter of making sure baby gates were up on all exits from the room so they could indeed wander like they liked to do. Methodical way of doing everything in the hosue now...but he planned to sit in the floor with them and do his grading while they played. Taking off his watch he handed it to his son, let him palm it a bit and then the child would get bored, and he sat down next to his dog and papers.

She watched daddy move about for a little while before she decided her brother was more fun to tug and cuddle on as they were on the floor. The box of toys was dumped over with a giggle and she rooted through them a bit before apparently not finding anything too interesting and instead pushed up on hands and knees, taking to crawling across the blanket some in search of something else...particularly something big and furry that had a big wet pink tongue.

He hugged his sister, letting her tug on his clothes, his hands, his feet, everything except his hair but he gently pushed her hands out of it, he didn't slap them off. Delighted sound when the watch was handed to him and he began to play with it, hitting his palm on the face and attempting to spin the little buttons on the side. It beeped at him once and he dropped it, startled, then picked it back up. He soon lost interest in it and crawled over to his father, dropping the watch in his lap then returned to the box of toys.

Methodically picking through them, he pulled out his favorite: a yellow cube with shapes cut out that when opened spilled out all sorts of bright plastic colored shapes that corresponded to the holes on the cube. Didn't take long before he released the clasp, dumped the cube and was attempting to push a blue moon through a triangle shaped hole. Glancing up, he watched his sister as she made her way towards the dog, making a noise to alert his father to his sister's position and warn her. Sometimes she tugged and doggy didn't like it.

Twins duly occupied he pulled out a green pen and took to grading things, looking up every now and then to keep tabs on the twins. It was no hardship making things work to include the twins, it was just the keeping them from interrupting too much that was the hard part...but that's what you gave up for kids and he wouldn't have it any other way.
A look up at the beep only to smile as his twins played among themselves and their toys, ruffling his son's hair when he brought the watch. "Thank you Thobias."

Back to papers once more, makign marks and correcting answers...at least he was easy this time and went for multiple choice with fewer short answer. Meant less to read. However in active and alert parent mode, he looked up at one of those sounds he had recognized as the twins...communicating, if it could be called that...to each other more than hanything else. Ah, she was after the dog. SHe was usually wonderful with the twins, but he was also used to being the one who got all the attention, which is why they were still keeping an eye on the dog who often trailed Xearus around the house. A pet to the dog's back perhaps to soothe him and in warning as well.

She paused for a moment, plopping on her diapered bottem to look at her brother at his noise...he merely got a spit bubble back before a giggle and back to nearing the animal. She sniffed the baby as Lici came near, Licing grabbing onto the furry muzzle lightly with a giggle as then she was being licked and the dogs tail was wagging. Doggy was nice today! Lici didn't like it when she barked.

Figuring out the moon shaped hole was on the other side of the cube, he managed to slip every shape back in, putting the cube back in the box where it belonged and then decided to investigate the rest of the room. Crawling behind the couch his father was leaning against, he poked his head around the arm and watched his sister a moment, then lightly pet the dog's tail. Crawling back around the couch, he poked his head around the other arm and studied his father. Hey, what was that? Can I see it? Thus crawling forward, picking up a teething ring on the way and reaching for Daddy's pen. He could make pretty squiggles with those things!

She was happy playing with doggy's ears and what not as the beast layed there and let her, though the moment she noticed her brother was missing from her immediate view, the happy turned off and she got a tad teary with noises. Seeing him pop up magically from somwhere near his father she gave a squeal and dropped to all fours, crawling over to daddy as well. Daddy was now the newest attraction.

His daughter had always seemed more vocal than his son and thus his attention popped up again to the squeal of delight from her as she started over to him...hm that sound usually meant that Thob-...and there was his pen snatched, a green streak across the paper had had been grading...hm, baby marks. A fanged grin at his son as he set the pile of papers behind him on the couch and scooped up the toddler, snuggling at him. "Are you a pen snatcher like your mommy?" Reaching out and grabbing the other as well, both settled in his lap and his work forgotten for the moment. "What do you two want to play teacher? I think you need a bit more motor skills before then." Thusly tickling at both gently with a look to his watch on the floor. Had to monitor for nap time dues and what not.

Thobias gave a squeal of delight as he was picked up and nuzzled his father as he was snuggled first. He studied the pen in his hand, bringing the other up and making a mark on his palm, accidentally. Look to the mark, then back to the pen then back to the mark before lifting his hand to show Daddy and Lici with a grin. He snagged his sister's hand, too and showed her the pen, offering it to her in case she wanted to play with it as well. Nodding his head as he heard the question. Meanwhile, Daddy's shirt buttons became his newest fascination.

Sam had cut back on her workload significantly since the twins were born. She couldn't give it up altogether but more and more cases became referrals and she attempted to only handle the most problematic pregnancies that needed a specialist. It gave her more time to spend with her children and lightened her stress considerably, too. She was no longer building her way to the top of the food chain so to speak, either, more interested in being a wife and mother. Currently she had three more appointments and then she'd be able to head home. Turning back to her current clients, she nodded at the information she was given and began to explain.

Oh how he wished he could be that simply amused by such an object as a pen. He'd never be bored and the twins frankly never were. They were happy with a discarded piece of paper as the fanciest toy him and Sam could buy. He let them play with the pen, which meant he got a few pen marks to the hands and face, but they pen washed off. He personally found it fascinating to watch the two...sure he had a baby sister he had watched grow up, but twins were simply fascinating.

She took over pen duties as he took to his father's buttons and thus was the producer of marks and what not, giving the pen a chew or two before that was stopped and she dropped the pen in favor for watching her brother. A look to the button he was playin with...and then to the ones on her own onesie...they looked the same. Watching what her brother was doing, grasping and tugging and one of daddy's round things pulled away and the two sides of his shirt were apart then. Hm...a little tugging of her own and she got her middle button on her own undone. A squeal and giggle over that with a clap and various loud noises to her brother to get his attention to show him.
