Haven't seen the movie but I did read the book and it was written really well. When I saw the previews for the movie I didn't feel like it had the same "feel" as the book did and I like Will Smith but I just couldn't "fit" him into the book's character.

Thanks for the "heads up". I will wait until it comes out on dvd and a lower price before checking it out.

eek I loved it, I admit I was suprised they killed the dog, but I thought the movie as a whole was the best I've seen so far.

I must say, I was pretty disappointed. The first half was just boring and wasn't going anywhere. Then the ending was rushed. I was like...wait. That's it?
Will Smith acted really well but I don't think he totally fit the part either. There were some things that irked me, like the loud breathing and gasping in the dark and stuff. I wasn't surprised to find out they killed the dog and the family. Also, I don't see how it was scary at all....but then again I'm a girl who was waiting for the gore in Apocalypto and never got it.
