I've been listening to HIM for a really long time, and I've still yet to find out the real meaning to that song....I figured since HIM mainly writes in metaphors and expressions that they were'ne literaly talking about the devil and 666 so any ideas?

i've been wondering about that myself
i read somewhere in an interview that the band deny completely that they are satanic although there are a lot of references to 666 and things...i think i'll be off to do some digging into that

i've actually read and seen many interviews where they claim not to be satanists as well.
not sure, but i think 666 might represent someones love or a relationship close to ending, the first verse of the song. "there are things you should know, and the distance between us seems to grow, and oh how hard it is to let go, oh so hard to let go"
"i'm waiting for your touch, and welcome your sweet six six six in my heart"
next verse: "im losing my faith in you, but you dont want it to be true"

do you think he means it literally though? I mean I'm not one to speculate but sometimes artists don't write things that have actually happened to them, they just tell a story.
Saying that though, did everyone else notice how much happier his lyrics became as soon as he got engaged? Killing Lonliness being my favourite.
And also if you look at some interviews, when he's explaining lyrics, he's all the lyrics don't mean anything, for example wings of a butterfly - it's just about a myth that he read and the way we read the lyrics are kind of wrong
If that makes any sense whatsoever lolz x x
