No, age had not done anything to dampen Mzuza's hardy belief that she could do magic. It had not so far, and most likely never would. It was that special part of herself that she had grown up with and she was not about to see it gone. She would hang on to it until there was definitely, irrefutable proof that she couldn't, and even then, you could rest assured that she would fight like hell to overcome it.

So the copper princess sat, lounging on her favorite rock. The sun somehow always seemed to warm its flat surface, and it was at a place far enough away from Pride Rock that it was quiet, but close enough that if she needed or wanted to return, she could do it quick enough. Some days, she would find little pebbles littering the ground around her rock, and she would sit and stare and glare at it until she had to leave, or until she could almost swear it had moved, if ever so slightly.

And today was one of those days. Mzuza lay sprawled on her sunning rock, her head resting against her paws hanging over the edge. Her red eyes narrowed as she stared at the rock, trying her best to move it. To wiggle it, anything that would prove she was, indeed, magical. And so she would stay until she was somehow disturbed, be it by hunger, rain, nightfall, or the little pebble actually moving.

Age could also not diminish Safuma's adoration to her sister, belief in magic and all. Certainly, Safuma took this strange belief with a grain of salt, but she would stand by Mzuza no matter what she believed in. Even if the lioness claimed the sky to be green, Safuma may not agree with that proclamation, but she would beat up anyone who tried to make Zu believe otherwise. She though Mzuza to be precious and unique, the type of sister that you never wanted to change but you couldn't quite take seriously. The situation would have to be dire indeed for Safuma to truly believe all something Mzuza said, especially if magic were involved. Bits and pieces, certainly, but not all.

And so, when Safuma found her sister sitting and staring intently on a flat boulder face, she knew it was somehow attributed to magic. Or to her sister doing some sort of magic, even if Safuma had no idea what the connection was. She padded forward until she was a few steps away and that sat, as silently as she could manage, a few feet away. Close enough to converse naturally, but not so close that she might interrupt Mzuza's concentration.

After a few moments of staring, trying to figure out exactly what was going on, she spoke without prompting, "Zu? What're you doing?"

It was hard for Mzuza to see anything but that little pebble when she was concentrated as hard as she was at the moment. She would not have noticed if the sun had suddenly fallen out of the sky, much less the appearance of her favorite sibling, and so when Safuma finally spoke up, the copper lioness's head snapped up with a bewildered squeak and she almost tumbled off of her rock.

"Um, I just... Oh, it's only you, Saf," She finally realized what had just happened and a bright grin broke out across her muzzle. "I thought you were someone else," She added, mentally conjuring up an image of Yen Ha. The white lion was bound to be out to get revenge on her after she had made him fall into a pot hole the last time they had met, and she wasn't quite ready for him to catch her staring seemingly aimlessly at a rock. Not that that was what she had been doing.

"Oh, well," She rose to her paws and got off her rock. "I was trying to move that pebble." She brought the little rock out of its shelter of grass with a paw so that Saf could see it too. It was hardly anything of any significance, but she had found that it was much easier to work with smaller objects. Sometimes, sometimes, she swore they really did move.

As sisters are prone to do, Safuma caught on to that little bit of information and clung to it. Her crimson eyes lightening with mischief as she stood and ambled closer to the other lioness, stopping so that she was next to the rock and could more appropriately feign interest in the little pebble. There was nothing significant about it. It was a pebble like any other shard of rock and looked much like those around it, save for maybe that it seemed to glitter slightly. Nevertheless, it held no special meaning to Saf and she was quite used to her sister doing wierd things with inanimate objects. It kind of came with the whole 'Mzuza Magic Package', and Safuma didn't bother worrying about it.

She lifted a paw as if to try to move the pebble herself without actually touching it, her way of showing interest in what Zu was doing. Giving up almost before she'd even started, the adolescent instead spoke of what was really present on her mind. A secretive little grin claiming her features as she peered up at her sibling somewhat suspiciously, "Someone else, huh? Who might that be?"

Purring encouragingly, she curled her tail around her paws and her smile broadened. Perhaps a brief, verbal recognition of the magic would be the best persuasion, "Did you move it yet?"

"Oh, no one, he's just..." She paused while she looked for a word. He wasn't quite a friend, and he definitely wasn't an enemy. And she knew him better than to call him an acquaintance. She hadn't really given thought to what she considered him to be. It was an interesting question, really, and Zu always wondered how Saf managed to touch on the exact topics that, when she thought over it, were the ones that really needed sorting out. Perhaps it was a sibling thing, although it seemed to Zu that none of her other siblings ever managed to do what Saf did.

"He's just this white lion called Yen Ha," She said finally. "I made him fall into a pot hole last time I met him. He's kind of like a friend, I guess." That was... conclusive enough, she decided. She would have to spend time pondering his existence and his significance in her life later on. But right now, the pebble called.

"Well, not this one," She said a little hesitantly, wondering why in the world it hadn't. "But I could swear others have moved before. Maybe just twitching, but they still moved. A little bit." She grinned rather proudly and nodded.
