A large black winged stallion walked calmly through the wintery, silent night. It was the eve of the holidays and he was not able to sleep. He was not one for celebrating or getting into the spirit of things. He had no reason too and never really did. Being on his own since he was a foal, he had only saw it as another day to try and survive. Now that he ws older he still didn't think nothing of it since he had no one to celebrate with and didn't really care too much about it. He wasn't in a bad mood during this time of year and didn't think badly of anyone who celebrated, he just didn't have a reason to right now. His teepee mates would be celebrating though especially the older mare he lived with since she was born from the season and was proud of it. Him on the other hand, chose to stay away from the teepee for the night and just reflect on whatever came to his mind.

Danae stood and observed the snow covered landscape and sighed. The moon had certainly done its job well in complementing the silvery sparkle of the snow covered ground with its own silver beam. In Danae's eyes, the night had never looked lovelier...
A hearty laugh suddenly emanated from a nearby groove and this made Danae smiled. It was probably her friend Arod trying to impress the rest of the group with his silly stories. Judging by the lone laughter however, it was apparent that only Arod himself was tickled by the story.
Shaking her head with amusement at the stallion's overwhelming confidence, Danae began trotting away from the groove. It was a magical night. Danae could feel it. And with that in mind, the sky blue mare trotted amiably through the snow frosted landscape. She would search for her own special adventure on the special night of the season.

Dustin also heard the laughter and just smiled to himself. Atleast there were others who were enjoying themselves on this night even if he was out alone. He continued to walk on through the silvery moonlight as it made the snow underneath his feet glitter and sparkle as if it was made of magic.
His foot steps made the snow crunch as he broke through the thin ice on top and his breath made small puffs of smoke in the crisp night air. Little did he know, there was another who chose to be out by herself on this night of magic.

Although her coat was now glistening with tiny flakes of ice, Danae proceeded to make her way even further from her friends. It was liberating to be able to wander off so far. Tossing her head back, Danae reared up and whinnied joyfully. It was wonderful to be able to stretch her stiff legs like this. Eversince the snow had started, Danae had had to put up with standing quietly beneath the shetler. But now, now that the snow had finally ceased to fall as heavily, she was free!
Picking up her pace, Danae now eased herself into a swift canter and delighted herself in barelling through the snow.

The black stallion's ears perked as they caught the sound of a whinny not too far off from where he was and then the thunder of hooves barelling through the snow and ice. Looking around him, he tried to see if he could find the source of the whinny in the light of the moon.
Shifting his wings on his back, the stallion peared through the trees to catch sight of a blue mare cantering through the snowy night.

Well, to say that Danae had noticed that there was a stallion nearby would be a lie. Totally engrossed in her self made game of snow-barreling, Danae would have almost certainly ploughed past the other had it not been for a change in the wind.
A sudden whiff of another's presence made Danae stop to look around curiously. She did not recognise that scent. Perhaps it was another out on a winter's night like this. Altering her direction, Danae paused just long enough to notice the stallion before making her way cheerfully towards him.

Dustin smiled as she noticed him amidst her romping and started to come towards him. Again he shifted his wings before heading out from the trees to meet her.
Her coat was a brilliant blue in color, almost as blue as his teepee mate, Rhapsody, was pink. AS he came towards her, he stopped and gave her a slight bow and a grin, as he always did to the mares he met. "Good evening, Miss. Shouldn't you be with your friends and family tonight?" he asked quite curious as to why she was alone on this night.

"No, not really," replied Danae pleasantly. " As it's a fine night tonight sir, I had thought that a little romp in the snow would be a pleasant treat,"
Saying so, Danae playfully gave Dustin a once over and smiled innocently. "Surely sir, you do not think that I am unable to defend myself should the need arise? And oh, my name's Danae by the way and I am really pleased to meet you,"

"My name is Dustin and it is also a pleasure to meet you, Danae." the stallion said and gave the mare a gracious bow, as he always did to those he had just met.
"I did not say that you were unable to defend yourself, but normally this would be a night for one to spend time with thier family and friends since it is the Holidays and all." he said sort of explaining why he had asked why she was alone. He didn't doubt that anyone could not defend themselves when the need arose. Sometimes others would do great feats in the face of danger when they normally would not in any other situation.

" But what if I am unable to defend myself?" Danae then asked batting her eye lashes and tilting her head in a flirting manner. "Would you come to my aid then?"
Saying this, Danae then promptly tossed her head and laughed merrily. "I jest! I jest! Forgive me Dustin (May I call you that?) but it has been a while since I was out. You wouldn't believe how dreadfully tiring it is to be trapped with just my ''family' for days! I assure you it is not as fun as it sounds,"
Having said that, the lively blue mare began prancing merrily about the dark stallion. "So tell me Dustin, what are you doing out alone? Or were you meeting someone?"

The dark stallion got a large grin on his face at her flirting. "I would come to your aid. No sense in being rude and ignoring some one in trouble, especially one as lovely as yourself." he said chuckling and wathced as she pranced about him.
"You may call me what you wish. It doesn't matter to me. Dustin is just the name I go by." he replied still watching her lively and fluid movements. "As for why I am out alone, I was not meeting someone. I am just not too into the holidays. I don't have a family and haven't since I was a young foal and so I was never brought up with the holidays being something special that you did with your family. It was just another day to survive." he said hoping to not bring her spirits down too much with his sad answer. "I sit back and watch others enjoy it and spend time with thier families and that is enough for me."

"Reeeally?" Danae asked skeptically. "You only enjoy watching others play? Phsaw, that's what the really old or the reaaally saintly so. And you are definitely not old, are you?"

What kind of question is that? Do I look old or something?" he replied and then looked about at himself trying to see if he had any grey feathers anywhere or something that made him look old. "I mean come on, if I was old would I look this handsome?" he said jokingly and laughed about it. "I jest. I am not that self-centered and nor do I care that much about my looks. Looks aren't everything. But no, I don't really think I am that old. I don't really know my birthday but I don't feel old either."

"I guess not," Danae admitted with a smile. "But you are aware I hope, that some people (soquilis in our case) do get better looking as they mature; but of course that is irrelevant. Right now...," Danae said as she stepped up to Dustin, Her eyes glinting mischieviously. "Right now, I want to see if you are as young or as old as I think you are,"
And with that Danae took a playful n** at Dustin's left wing before daintily stepping back. "Tag, you're it," Danae said; and began cantering away with cries of challenge.

Dustin grinned slyly at the challenge from the blue beauty. "Oh really now? Well, either you will be highly disappointed or you won't be. But I suggest, that if your going to instigate a game of tag, you might want to start running...like now." he said and took off after her like a shot. "Ready or not here I come!" he called out laughing as he went after her.
