To start off... Hey there. How are you lovely ladies today? wink Hopefully the holidays are going smoothly for all of you.
Okay, the original point. I was just wanting to pass on something to you girls out there that smoke and are thinking about quitting.
In a magazine that my Mammaw always gives me (Good Housekeeping XD I should be like, 40 or something to read this...), there's an article that says:
"If you've resolved to quit smoking this year, changing your diet might make it easier. In a study at Duke University Medical Center, smokers identified the foods that made cigarettes taste terrible. Topping the list were fruit, vegetables, dairy products, and non-caffeinated beverages, especially juice and water. On the other hand, alcohol, coffee, tea, cola and meat made cigarettes tastier. Another way to fight cravings: Walk around te block or up the stairs. Studies show that a small bout of exercise, even as little as five minutes, helps get you past the urge."
So, basically, adopting healthy habits can help you to quit. 3nodding If anyone here is quitting, good luck. Hope this helped a little.

My dad used to smoke. He'd smoke in the car. He'd roll down the windows so it would blow out, but when we were moving, it would blow back in my face. I would cough the entire car ride. I have an awful smoker's cough from it. Never smoked a cigarette and I never will because of my awful reaction to cigarette smoke. He finally quit when he saw how badly it was affecting me.

I actually was a smoker back when I was about thirteen. :/ Damn the influence of moving to a new school. But then I started drinking alot of water, and holy crap did those cigarettes taste nasty. (They tasted nasty anyway, but the water kinda made it worse.) And when I moved back to my hometown, I was always going on walks with my friends. I actually found it pretty easy to stop smoking, even though I do have a cigarette once in a blue moon. o_o

Cap'n: Aww. *hugs* It's like that with my mom and me. Except she doesn't roll the window down. And she won't quit, even thought she knows how badly it's affected me. But pfft, I'm rarely in the same car as she anymore, so who cares? XD
It's good to know that your dad cares enough about you to quit. 3nodding
Smile!: Wow. ._. I don't think I've ever met anyone who says it was easy to quit. I'm so proud of you! *high-fives*

Oh! That reminds me! I have some science homework, where I have to interview someone who has smoked tobacco, became addicted, and tried to quit (success doesn't matter). Anyone want to volunteer? Only two quick questions. 3nodding

My mom and dad both smoke. My mom has reduced her amount of cigarettes, however, to only a few a day. ^^ I hope she can quit.
My dad hasn't stopped or even thought about stopping, though. He'll just go around, smoking wherever he wants, including near me. >_< It really makes me feel like crap having that nasty smoke blown in my face.
I tell you, I'm never about to start, and that's final.
