Okay so my old computer crashed and I had to get a new one, unfortunately this new computer came equipped with Window's Vista. I say unfortunately because Vista is the most user un-friendly program I have ever dealt with; For one the administrator controls are baffling at best, by default a user needs administrator authorization to print, yes PRINT. One also needs admin authorization to install any programs, oh yes did I mention that the internet parental controls are quite strange. Under the default settings I could not log onto ANY forums, and at times it even blocked myspace, yet dumbest of all it blocked an internet game where a monkey is throwing darts to pop balloons yet it did not block a game where you are an aircraft dropping bombs on targets. That's not all! Most games made before 2001 will not work on the Vista, and haha even Microsoft Powerpoint does not work, how the hell does powerpoint not work on a windows operating system! Bah, I say denounce the Vista, get ANYTHING but a vista. I had a windows 95 operating system that worked better than Vista! Windows has created its own demise. Please I beg of you, for your own sake, do not get the Vista operating system under ANY circumstances!
Also found out today:
Ok now I'm really pissed off at Windows Vista, just found out itunes doesn't work on vista, which means of course that i cannot take anything off my ipod much less put anything on it. BUY MAC! Under NO circumstances ever accept a machine that uses vista as the default!

Thats too bad mate. Vista has been kind to me. First of all, I installed Vista from scratch on a machine that I built. So I did not have to tackle any factory installed settings or bull s**t like parental controls. I got to set it all from scratch. You are right that the administrator thing is annoying, but that took me like five seconds to figure out ( right click on the installation exe and click 'run as administrator')
The I tunes issue has since been fixed and backward compatibility has also improved.
That being said. XP is still the s**t. No reason to update from XP yet. Don't fear Vista....but if you like XP, keep it.

I've heard about a lot of improvements with Vista, but I still think I'm going to spare myself the trouble and learn to use Linux when it's time for me to get a new computer. I'm definitely not going for a Mac.

Doubtful. It would require a complete shift in the way they approach design, but you never know.

I'm totally in love with my Mac. I have never had any problems with them in my life. I refuse to buy any computer that isn't a Mac I'm in love with them, plus I heard Vista actually works ok on a Mac.
