Crunching earth beneath his paws only blended into the sounds of his surroundings. The leaves fell, fluttering wings of avians a flight, his crunching leaves, and the eerie silence. Trying to get out and making a name for himself, wandering was all he can do. Find a place, stake out his territory, and call it home. Being a lone wolf, it was a lot harder to do things rather than in a pack such as hunting and keeping his warmth, the lack of interaction was a bit painful too.
Toshiya continued to move on through the woods without much care of what he was doing. Wandering was what he did, whatever happened happened. Nothing could really deter him from his course but a second thought. One he never had. His tail was low, slightly tucked, his posture submissive.
Being submissive was the only way he knew to escape hostility from other wolves.
The seer’s soft eyes narrowed as she followed the newcomer’s movement slowly, until her eyes drew to tiny slits. She had been keeping a close eye on him, he had wandered into her Pack Lands awhile ago, but she felt it best not to alarm her Alpha just yet, he didn’t seem to be causing nay harm.
Her bright coat colors flashed from in between the trees as she slowly followed after him like a cat playing with a mouse, stalking it before she attacked.
But, Tiah wouldn’t do that, not unless he gave her meaning to, motive, but, she didn’t see that happening, she was a Seer after all, she could guess his next movie if it came down to it.
With a soft sigh the female stopped and called out to him, her eyes moving to widen as she stood very still.
“Are you lost?”
The sudden voice made the male jump and jerk around. At first his ears were perked to see who it was. It was a female wolf with a dark, duller shade of red like his. His nose lifted as it sniffed the air with a few passings. Scent of many others clung to her fur, she was a pack member. Instantly, ears pulled back against his skull and the tail tucked.
Submissive.
"A-am I intruding into your territory?"
He questioned. His eyes jerked everywhere almost afraid other members were watching him form afar, his ears were still opened to any howls that would split the air. Hopefully if there were any, they weren't ones of rally.
"W-where am I?"
“You need not worry.”
She spoke again, her tone dull and unthreading. Tiah’s paws pressed forward some as she moved herself out into the opening, a clearing—so that he could see her and see that he really didn’t need to worry any. Tiah didn’t look big and bad, not at all.
Her scars made her look unpardonable, but other than that she really was just a smaller female with odd eyes.
“Territory? Mine? No, the lands you stand upon, the earth you are walking over, they do not belong to me- but to my good friend, they are her pack lands, her’s and her mate’s. Why do you ask?”
She questioned with a cocked head.
He was right, she was a pack member and upon that, these were pack lands he was walking upon. Was there no wolf to howl for others to know that it was theirs? That was one of the howls, correct? Toshi looked at her and nodded to her words. He had nothing to worry about.
"O-of course, this territory isn't yours but your Alphas', and thus your pack. You are a member, I assume, and in a way these are your lands too,"
He tried to clarify his thinking. It made sense... well, at least to him.
"I didn't think I was intruding on anyone's lands, I was just wandering. I-I didn't mean to intrude,"
he paused.
"My name's Toshiya..."
”Why do you stutter like that? Have you worry in your words?”
She questioned as she frowned and looked him over. Such a wolf wouldn’t hold himself like he was; he seemed to be very… awkward. She didn’t understand it, really.
“Toshiya, I’m Tiah.”
She smiled some before gazing at him again, her cold eyes anrrowing softly.
“I guess you are correct, I am apart of this pack, so the lands, I share with them. Are you from a pack? Or are you a loner?”
She questoned, though she didn’t want to be rude.
"I stutter because I am nervous, I am nervous around strangers. Do not get me wrong, but I cannot trust you as appearances can be deceiving,"
His posture was purely of submission, it was his way to avoid hostility. If he can avoid a fight, he would do all he can to do so. His reputation was nothing. His life was nothing. However, if it was his family, friend, or pride, then he will have to.
"It is a pleasure to meet you then, Tiah."
He replied. He watched her eyes that seemed to always be shifting.
"I am alone, I... I wanted to find a life for myself, to establish one myself. I do not know what will happen, perhaps I will move back into the pack life, but... I want to see where my paws take me. You haven't answered my question though, Tiah."
“You are not in a the propper place to be asking questions, so I will not answer them until I can trust you, boywolf.”
Tiah wasn’t dumb, she knew her way around better than most others, in fact, she had gone through a lot just to be standing here today, speaking to this newcomer.
It was better he had run into her though, she feard that if Ashe or Elk had found him he wouldn’t be standing; Ashe didn’t take kindly to strangers and her poor, sick brother Elk just didn’t like anyone he didn’t know.
Her weight shifted as she spoke out again.
“I can offer you a place to stay for a while if you need rest or a meal, but I can not offer you advice on what to do with yourself, what becomes of you, what you do, that is your choise, your path you must cerate for yourself, boywolf.”
She paused.
“No pleaseure in meeting me, please. I am just a shadow.”
"My fate is but my own, my destiny and what happens to me is of my own making. I understand that, but I am curious what will happen if I let fate decide,"
He nodded.
"I appreciate the offer but... I will have to decline. I have my reasons, though I am afraid I cannot tell you."
Toshi lowered his head as her words did not comfort him any, if anything, made him feel anymore insecure. Wherever he was, it was not the best place to be. He looked around him briefly before turning back to her. Perhaps forcing her to reply will get an answer.
"I-If you do not tell me where I am, I will have to leave, either further into your lands or away from it..."
”You are in a wooded area beside a large river where the waters are clear. If you follow the river all the way to it’s end you’ll find yourself out of the Pack Lands.”
She spoke out with a slight nod, she didn’t pay much mind to his words, really, and he didn’t mean much to her, she just met him after all, so she couldn’t form a proper decision on what she felt about the male.
“I warn you though; you will come across a red male with a torn ear if you stray too far away from the river’s edge, so stay close to it as you move forward. I wouldn’t want any harm to come to you.”
She paused for a moment as a sudden flash hit her and her eyes went wide.
“You won’t be alone for long, it seems, Once you leave, perhaps not many days after travel you will run into a male with green eyes, with hints of vibrant orange fur. He will accompany you upon your journey, so welcome him when he comes.”
She stopped again, feeling as if she had not kept to her own words, she felt she was cheating; helping him like she was, but he really needed it, she felt. She only hoped he would listen to her advice.
“Now- hurry off you, before the dark settles in, and remember my words, boy, stay close to the river until you reach it’s end.”
Toshi shook his head and looked behind him. Follow the river and he would meet a red wolf? Great! Another wolf to run into, what was she doing, making him meet every member of her pack? It seems the river was the best way to get out of these pack lands, he had to get out before anything else happens to him and this female was starting to unnerve him.
He made a mental note of her words, for whatever that meant, it was better than nothing.
"I shall follow the river then... if you lie to me, I cannot do anything about it. If this male poses me harm, then you have either sent me to my death or the fight of my life... I will remember your words and since my questions will produce no answer, I shall not ask why you know such a thing,"
With a final nod, he rose to his feet, shaking out his fur. A final glance, he dashed off to the river.
