i personally think the 72, dolphins were better than the 07, patriots

i mean the patriots had a really easy teams to play with an easyer diviton

07 patriots games

jets
chargers
bills
bengals
browns
cowboys
dolphins
redskins
colts
bye
bills
eagles
ravens
steelers
jets
dolphins
giants

72, dolphins games

chifes
houston ( were the titens)
vikings
jets
chargers
bills
ravens
bills
patriots
jets
rams
patriots
giants
ravens

Remember teams back in 72 were good that are not good in 07 like kc, jets, bill also the patriots divition is a lot easyer than it was in 72 and 72 dolphins divitions were harder too. all games won bye 10 ponts or more for 72 dolphins with the exspetion of super bowl witch ended 14-7 over redskins witch were good back in 72....... do you agree.

Give both respect.

'72 Dolphins went 14-0, a perfect 1.000 winning percentage.

'07 Patriots are looking towards 16-0, another perfect 1.000 winning percentage, thus equal.

...Both were the greatest pro NFL teams that the World has ever seen, and the most important thing is winning the Super Bowl. The '72 Dolphins had the better defense, and the '07 Patriots have a better offense.

You cannot match them point for point, stat for stat, although a match-up would have been great to see.

I don't know about you, but I wasn't around in 1972-1973, so I couldn't see the first team to go undefeated. If the Patriots do go 16-0, then 19-0, becoming the NFL champions, I would welcome them, and give respect to the greatest team in NFL history, in a 2-way tie for first with the 1972 Dolphins.

i highly agree with your statments but i was watching ESPN and they were talking about randy moss breaking the single season touchdown catches (22) by jerry rice......... i think it was really to easy for moss and jerry rice only had 12 games to get that mark!!!!! so avcouse its going to be easy for him with tom brady and all.... must i remind you around week 12 moss did not lead the leage in td's it was a tie with terrel owens but thats another story bye week 12 i think he had about 15td's and thats where jerry rice had 22td's what do you think Dude-lap

Well although I think that Jerry Rice is the best receiver in the history of the NFL, it would be very respectful for Randy Moss to get the record. Moss was criticized at the beginning of this season, after the 4th round pick trade to the Raiders. Many said he was stubborn, wasn't a team player, and only thought about himself. Now look. Great QB, great coach, and he can showcase his talent. Rice will still be the greatest NFL receiver ever, but kudos to Moss if he does reach the high mark.

But why give all credit to Moss? Brady is having one of the best statistical years in NFL history, arguably the best as a QB. Brady should be able to hit the 50 TD mark, depending on the conditions at the Meadowlands this Saturday night. Brady is always successful in the postseason and Super Bowl. This season, plus a consistent great end of his career could lead to talks of him being in the top 5 QBs ever. Picture it this way. Rice holds the record with 22 TD catches this season, and Moss has 21 at the moment. That means that more than half of Brady's TD passes were thrown to somebody other than Moss, believe it or not. Brady also has run it in about 5 times or so, so add that on. Brady is surely the MVP of the league, and is favorite to go 19-0, winning the Super Bowl.

...Moss and Brady are good players, but will never be the best at their positions in NFL history (maybe Brady, but I doubt it). It would be an amazing and respectable feat if they both beat their positional records (TD receptions and TD passes, respectively), and even more respectable if they complete the perfect 19-0 mark. Yet, don't consider Moss better than Jerry rice, Brady better than Marino/Elway/Montana, and the 2007 Patriots better than the 1972 Dolphins...just yet. cool

Luckily, I get to go to that Giants game this Saturday night against the Patriots. I will get to see history in the making, either way. Either the first undefeated 16-0 season, or the Giants to disrupt that path. I will be rooting for my favorite team, the Giants, but I openly wouldn't mind seeing such a great team go 16-0.

I'd have to give the credit to the dolphins. back in the 70's you could actually hit a person, only a few people in today's NFL would be good back then. all the teams back in the 70's I think were almost if not as good as all the teams today. Tom brady is good but I'd give the game ball to Griese.

here's a chart of the few players I know. who do you think is better?

Bob Griese or Tom Brady ===== Bob Griese

Larry Csonka
or Lawrence Maroney ===== Larry Csonka

...Anyways, I don't get the NFL Network. I wish my cablevision network would buy it out. My dad was thinking of switching over to get the NFL Network, but it's no big deal. Either way, since I live in NY, the game is broadcasted on a basic channel, for those not going to the game, or without NFL Network.

Yet, don't consider Moss better than Jerry rice, Brady better than Marino/Elway/Montana, and the 2007 Patriots better than the 1972 Dolphins...just yet. cool

i dont know if this is just me but never in my life liked the patriots i dont know why. and Randy Moss is a great WR i can give them that. but they're is a nother thing that really makes me mad in the draft patriots will pick like 5 in the draft i mean really thats messed up but i think the lost it to the (spy cam thingy). i really hope the giants win i mean i really want to patriots to lose for some strange reson i just hate them i dont know why

i know what the 72, Dolphin did do that patriots RAN! THE! FOOTBALL!

Luckily, I get to go to that Giants game this Saturday night against the Patriots. I will get to see history in the making, either way. Either the first undefeated 16-0 season, or the Giants to disrupt that path. I will be rooting for my favorite team, the Giants, but I openly wouldn't mind seeing such a great team go 16-0.

luckey i live all the way on the west coast so i watch it on NFL Network

I'd rather be there live, to see history in the making. Too bad, there's a high chance of showers and wind, though.

...Anyways, I don't get the NFL Network. I wish my cablevision network would buy it out. My dad was thinking of switching over to get the NFL Network, but it's no big deal. Either way, since I live in NY, the game is broadcasted on a basic channel, for those not going to the game, or without NFL Network.

thats cool

Yea, I can't wait to go. But since the Giants have a playoff spot, and may even rest their starters, they don't have much to play for. Many Giants fans have already sold their tickets, and the Patriots fans should outnumber Giants fans this Saturday night... xp

Well I heard that the Giants will play their starters and if the game gets out of hand they will sit them...
