It's that time of year again where I have to pick a solo. gonk

I'm a freshman, and last year I played Rhapsody by Willson Osborne.... so I'd like something a little more challenging than that. I'd rather have an unaccompanied solo because I hate going through the hassle of getting a piano player, but if you know a good one with a piano part, tell me anyway.

Any suggestions? =D Post links to listen to it if you can, please!

Well, my solo this year is a grade 3 1/2 and it's called "Aria and Presto"
I'm not sure if it's accompanied, but I think it isn't. It would say if it was so I'm assuming no.
My solo is from a middle school library, but its not on a middle school level.
Aria is in a 3/8 time signature, and switches from E minor to E magor and back to E Minor. It has 32nd notes in it too! Its really pretty.
Presto sounds really, well full of action and movement, its really fast *hence the name, presto* and has many trills and stacatos, and its in 2/4 and also in E minor.

Tell me what you think ;D

There are some of these books, that have solo auditions in them. Unfortunately the soloes aren't very long and they're composed by modern composers, so they don't have the most stagnant structure. But for practicing and what ever I would look in those, there are a few good ones in them too.

Concertino by C.M. Von Weber is an amazing clarinet solo, but it's pretty common, and it's pretty difficult to.

A somewhat less difficult piece but is still very interesting is a solo piece by Stamitz. It's a Concerto I believe (both pieces by the way, are piano accompaniment)

When I was in eighth grade I played a piece by Corelli (sp?) called Air and Dance. I remember it being pretty challenging (or at least it seemed challenging back then) lots of arpeggios, first movement was slower and expressive, second was up beat and pretty.
