I had a nice dream last night before I woke up. Well it was me of course and there was this portal kinda thing and this guy would visit every Tuesday. Then there was like a trip thing that I was going and it was on Tues at his area or town. And I went through the portal with a bunch of other people and I felt very excited! Wanting to see that person again! Then I started to think that it was the wrong day and I was kinda sad because I didn't see that person.... then all of a sudden I saw him. He walk out of the crowd, looking for me as well, looking around then saw me. I ran to him, jumped on him and hug him really tight.
This dream felt so really because it felt like I met that person before and that I loved/liked him. My stomach felt squeezed and my heart was beating fast when I say his face. Well...I do have a very close friend of mine that I've known since I was 5 years old, and he lives pretty far and he visit us like once every 6-7 months. I haven't seen him for like 7 months and I think I do miss him a bit... but I don't know if I have that feelings for him. Maybe theres a connection or something??! I dunno...I liked my dream I had. Have you guys had any dreams in a while? Tell?

Well I had that really messed up dream a few weeks ago where I worked in an assisted suicide clinic and helped kill my dad and grandma... gonk
But your dream probably means that your heart races when you see that person and if you see him soon, or if you know you'll see him soon, then you'll be able to feel like that again, and it's a feeling you enjoy, and maybe your mind is trying to signify that.

LOL! Your dream is funny! I had something kinda similar...but it wasn't me that killed my family. lol. it was scary. My grandmother was in the landury(sp?) room in a sink all chopped up and her head was like talking to me and there was blood everywhere. One dream I will never forget and I was 7 year old. D':

I always remember my dreams.
Sometimes it takes me awhile, but I'll eventually get it. This past week I've had pretty significant dreams. The most major one was where I was dying and the doctor told me he could make the cure affordable. And when he said affordable I knew it would cost about as much as a house.
I've been meaning to see the doctor in awhile. I just dislike doctors. Especially here in North America. They're so warped by business it's hard to find a genuine one.
Anyway, I think I had the dream because the other day my heart did something funny. By funny, I mean it stopped for more than two seconds. It almost felt like one of the arteries were majorly clogged. D'x I haven't told my parents yet, as our family has a major history of heart problems AND diabetes.
My second major dream this week was one of the regulars. Me on a mission. I'm usually apparent as a male, instead of female. Not that I have p***s envy or anything. Dx
The missions tend to vary in location and what I'm trying to find...but I'm always looking for something. Maybe I'm needy. D But yeah, you know what's cool? We should try and remember our first dream of the New Year. There's some cultures that say that it indicates what is to come, or what could be and relates tends to tell us whether it'll be a good or bad year.
In Japanese culture, if you dream of Mount Fuji, an eggplant and...something else it tends to be a very positive sign. surprised

I think your dream just means that you wish this person could visit more often [hence the portal] and that you really enjoy it when he does visit you.
I haven't had any dreams for a while. I think I usually forget mine. The ones I remember are unusually vivid. I once had a dream my best friend and I visited Japan. xD That was a very interesting dream. I only remember bits and pieces of it.

I once had a dream that I was drowning and I wasn't breathing for like 5 secs and woke up sweating. My mom doesn't sleep with me because when I was like 5-6 years old I starting coking my mom in the middle of the night.
About your dream about always looking for something...maybe it means thats your looking for something speical or you haven't found what you want or your confused. It could mean many things.....I should look this up. xD

Search To dream that you are searching for something, signifies the need to find something that is missing or needed in your life. You may be searching for a solution to a problem. I have way too many problems that need solutions. Doesn't everyone? But I there is no set meaning.
For your dream, I would figure the portal signifies time, as well as distance, as well as travel. So it makes sense that you'd relate it to that guy you haven't seen in awhile.
My dreams tend to have more of a Harry Potter feel to them. x'D It's so sad when you wake up and find you can't apparate anymore.
Oh yeah, I just thought of something regarding my searching dreams. It's actually really weird to have recurring dreams, because, scientifically, they tend to not really mean anything (as in, they haven't found any real significance for them yet), but having a recurring character? Is that weird? Or a recurring FEELING?
I mean, there is this one dark-haired guy that sometimes shows up in my dreams and has something to do with it, but I tend to find him insignificant during the dream. But it's always the same guy. The weirdest part is that I can never remember his face when I wake up. It makes me so angry to run to my notepad and be unable to draw his face. It's like it's right there, but not. I can only ever remember his hair and how tall he is. xD
And then there's those recurring feelings. I suppose some dreams can actually trigger Somatic Markers...even if it's not REALLY happening. (Somatic markers were a theory proven by Damasio. That once one event happens a marker or trigger in our brain is set and the feeling, emotions or reactions we have for that event are recorded and usually repeated when a similar event or situation occurs to us again.)
But that's supposed to be outside of dreams, which would mean that dreams can affect us physiologically as well. O.o'''
Maybe I should leave that theory for when my brain isn't turned off.

I have so many weird dreams, except I always forget them. :c But I always remember my good dreams. c:
Around two years ago, I like this guy alot, right? So I had this dream that I was at this house, I didn't know where, but I was in this house in this room looking in a closet of clothes. And all of a sudden I have this really kewt outfit on and I turn to my left and there's the guy I liked! :0 And then he asked me out, and I was happy, and said yes, and then I turn to go out of the room and my principal was standing there in a white light...
So, anyways, later on I realized it was my friend Michelle's room (her dad was the principal of my school), and her room was normally really really dim whenever I went over there, but in the dream it was pretty bright. And she called around 3:00 IRL later that day, and asked me if I wanted to come over, and I said yeah, and then I asked her if she had changed the light bulb in her room, AND SHE HAD. O.O
But also, there's this thing where I'll be thinking about something completely random, or just something and it's not like a major thought in my head, and something related to that will happen later on. It's really really weird. Like I was thinking on my first day of block scheduling when I was getting into my gym locker, "Oh, today's my first taste of block scheduling, unless something like a natural disaster like a fire happens, heh heh." And then near the middle of gym for block over the intercom everyone hears "The servers for then testing for juniors is down, so we will be going back to REGULAR SCHEDULE." O.O That is SO not a coincidence. I mean, seriously. That has happened to me so many times. It's just really. Really. Weird.
@Sakura-I'm sure it has to do with you really wanting to see the guy who visits, but I don't know. Is there a guy you like right now?

Maybe I should leave that theory for when my brain isn't turned off. Actually, addressing the recurring dream thing, one of my old friends says she always has this dream, once or twice a year, like since she was little little, that there's this guy chasing after her trying to kill her (with a chainsaw, I think?) and she's running through the woods and I think she stumbles in a pothole or something. :/ So I dunno, I'm sure it isn't the exact same every time, but...
And yes, dreams aren't supposed to really mean anything, but according to my 6th grade science teacher, well, not really, lemme just explain.
When you sleep, your brain is processing what happened throughout the day, and is just processing, and then comes to something, and your imagination supposedly takes off from there. And he also said that a dream usually, at its longest, lasts for about 12 seconds. Which I find a little bit hard to believe. Especially if it's a really, really really, long one that feels like you're watching The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. D: I hate that movie.

Actually, recurring dreams aren't supposed to mean anything. Regular dreams are your subconscious unfolding. That's why most people cannot remember their dreams, because they are not in touch with their subconscious. I only remember dreams vividly because I trained myself to over time. It became a regular activity, along with my meditating.
So yes, dreams definitely mean something to us. During sleep, not only is your brain processing the day, it is also re-protecting itself, as well as drawing out memories and forgetting some. Sleep is rejuvenation. Especially during REM.
For example, if a child had a suppressed memory or bad memory that they could not remember consciously, sleep would be the time the mind uses its protection to wrap up that bad memory even more.
Sometimes if there are word triggers that can make that memory re-emerge while the child is coscious, the mind has this auto-mechanism that makes the child unable to process that word or trigger. It's actually quite an interesting and semi-complicated system.

Ooooh! That makes me want research all of that stuff! No, seriously, mother is a science teacher/lover of learning so my genes are programmed for that stuff, so I'm not being sarcastic.
And I would love to train myself to remember my dreams vividly. That would be pretty cool to remember all of your dreams.

All that talk of dream diaries at night, by your bedside aren't nothing. Just record them every night. Or every morning when you wake up, sit up in bed with your eyes closed, going over what you remember. I find meditation works as well. By meditation, I mean specific kinds. Look into chakra and the various colours to focus on while meditating. My favourite meditation is making a safe haven for yourself in your mind. Because not only are you using your imagination, you're combining subconscious as well as conscious aspects in there; making most things accessible.
D'x Of course, sometimes things get out of hand. When I went through my dark phase in high school my sacred space or safe haven burnt down.
So now it's just this field of red.
Ah, science teacher. That's great! =] I'll have my teacher's degree once I finish my undergrad. >x>'' It's more of a back up. I'm planning to go for grad school for neuroscience. I love brains. mad

I tried a dream diary for a little while, but it was mainly for weird story ideas. xD
I'm sorry your safe haven burnt down; I think I might actually try the meditating, though, sounds fun. I know it's not supposed to be fun, but it sounds like it might help my well-being. I'll look into that, thanks! c:

I'm sorry your safe haven burnt down; I think I might actually try the meditating, though, sounds fun. I know it's not supposed to be fun, but it sounds like it might help my well-being. I'll look into that, thanks! c: Of course it's fun. xD And my dream diary ended up being for story ideas too. D'x And then I found other ways of going over my dreams. Sometimes I'll jot down key words in the middle of the night, if I wake up randomly. I don't have to do it anymore. It just comes to me. The worst is when I think a dream actually happened. I went a whole week pissed off at my friend and when she called me and I was angry...I told her why I was so angry. I then, as I was telling her, it all became a little clearer how insane I sounded. >] This one time I thought I was still dreaming so I went to go shower, because I figured that's what to do when I'm dreaming and no one was, eerily, home. And I kept thinking these random things as I was showering, such as how to reveal to my friend what had happened and how to defeat some sort of evil being and how to escape from that dude that was chasing me. xD
But get this, this morning I woke up really early and walked to the stop of the stairs. You can see out the living room window from there, which is HUGE. And I'm staring and see this english bull dog looking in from outside at me. I run to the bottom of the stairs and stare at it, thinking I'm dreaming. I open the door and go outside to find it disappeared. There were footprints and yellow snow left behind, so I figured it was really there. But it was so eerie. It was cold outside and the dog was just staring at me, waiting for me. And it had no collar (it was full grown).
