I have heard that this Christmas doesn't feel so Christmassy
Or simply that the season isn't as bright
In a world where God's removed from our Constitutions bit by bit
And 'Christ' is replaced with an X
Good cheer has also vanished
The reason the good cheer was there
Was because our hearts were filled with the graitude
That the Saviour King was born in Bethlehem
Between the cow and the sheep
With only an X to celebrate
Where would good cheer be?
There is no longer reason to be filled with the joy of the season
As one crooked letter becomes the subject of it.
Remember the reason for the season
Remember the Saviour King born in the manger
Not even the thought of a jolly old elf is reason enough to celebrate
But rather that life came, conceived by God, out of a virgin's womb
In the little town of Bethlehem
And went from a humble manger to a humble cross
Paid a price we can't ever imagine
For every single one of us.
Or simply that the season isn't as bright
In a world where God's removed from our Constitutions bit by bit
And 'Christ' is replaced with an X
Good cheer has also vanished
The reason the good cheer was there
Was because our hearts were filled with the graitude
That the Saviour King was born in Bethlehem
Between the cow and the sheep
With only an X to celebrate
Where would good cheer be?
There is no longer reason to be filled with the joy of the season

But rather that life came, conceived by God, out of a virgin's womb
In the little town of Bethlehem
And went from a humble manger to a humble cross
Paid a price we can't ever imagine
For every single one of us.
Merry Christmas.
