Bob is a 'toon who tries to hide his true nature under a surprisingly realistic polymer human-suit. The only part of his body it doesn't cover are his eyes, which appear strangely like cel-shaded animation. He tends to wear sunglasses to hide this phenomenon.
Favorite clothing
Khakis, button-down shirts, suspenders, sweaters. Bob is often reminiscent of a children's folk singer.

Lithe and slim. She can run very fast if she puts her mind to it.
Distinguishing marks and features
Duff is a humanoid Compsognathus, which means she has a tail and is scaly. Who knows where that coloration comes from. Also, she has a chunk of her left ear missing from a mishap between she and Beth when Duff was just a leaf. Thankfully, Duff doesn't remember any of it. o.o
Favorite clothing
Shorts, t-shirts, lightweight shoes. She's not really a fan of winter, but she deals.

house Robert's house is a living thing. Although it can't communicate verbally, it can change its rooms to reflect its moods, and clearly enjoys having such an eccentric owner. There are only five rooms that never move - the kitchen, Bob's bedroom, a spare room, a bathroom, and the study - as well as the house's main front hall. Bob calls the house 'Shirley' and speaks directly to it, as a sort of audio diary. He only does this in one of the unmoving rooms, the study, and Shirley records everything he says. This journal will contain some of these audio diaries, transcribed for easy access.

past life Not so long ago but very far away, Beth the Illusionary was known as Gratagh the Yeti of Mount Yeti. She lived an isolated life, killing any unsuspecting animals that stumbled across her cave, and some that just looked tasty and hadn't been anywhere near her cave. Besides killing, eating and sitting, her hobbies included shedding and weaving fabric from her fallen fur, which she then threw off of a nearby ledge. Unbeknownst to Gratagh, her fur-weavings were collected by the villagers at the base of the mountain and made into clothing and blankets to protect against the freezing winter.
Surprisingly, despite the fear Gratagh's immediate neighbors felt toward her, they respected the role she played in their society. Yeti-fur clothing had become a necessity and the giant creature kept the village free of predators like bears and wolves. Gratagh never entered the village, and the only humans she hurt were the ones stupid enough to go up and visit her.
It was through no fault of her own that she came to die. One perfectly average day, a young villager named Gerald got it into his head to climb Mount Yeti, even though everyone already knew what was up there. It was rumored he was a little crazy, but that's beside the point. Gerald spent that whole day and the next scaling rocky cliffs and dodging dangerous falling rocks until he finally reached Gratagh's cave. She was sleeping at the time, or she might have made a more negative first impression. The young man saw her huge expanse of white fur, her massive claws and her adorable bat-like face and fell in love. He spent the next three days following the yeti, trying to assist her with her kills, singing her songs, and generally being a nuisance. On the third evening, Gerald attempted to win her love by performing a naked shadow puppet act, but that was the last straw. Gratagh expressed, in her own yeti style, that there was no way she would ever have any thoughts toward Gerald more meaningful than wondering what he tasted like on a sandwich. That night, while the yeti slept, Gerald sought to soothe his bruised ego. He tied strong ropes around Gratagh's wrists and ankles, and pulled her to her death. It took him all night to drag her to the edge of her cliff, but Gratagh never woke again... until now.
