A young klipspringer mother nudged her fawn forward. They stayed in a trail of high grass, but her fawn still needed a bit of encouragement. He'd never wandered too far from his birthing place... if frightened him.
Mkimya trotted onward, notcing the path she was on. She knew the Pridelands, having been there before.
She stopped on the border, wondering if she could continue. She skirted the edge, he young fawn trotting after her, flanking her closly.

((Adorable Klipspringers!))
Like this young klipspringer, Kutulia had never ventured away from her home. She had been told ever since she was younger to remain within the borders of the pridelands because that was where she was safe. In the pridelands the lions knew that they were friends and outside, nothing could be guaranteed.
Wandering along the border, bright pink eyes scanned the rogue lands. Since her family now considered her an adult, Kutulia felt a strange urge to leave the pridelands and learn of the roguelands on her own. Her father's warnings and stories always returned her to her home, but on this particular day, she was feeling daring.
"Just what could be so awful about the roguelands..." Tuli spoke naively to herself, pulling a large ear down to rub as the thought.

[Thanks <3 Your Hare is cute x3]
Kucha shuffled closer to his mother. Black-grey eyes staring around as he followed his mother out into the open. His mother seemed liked she wasn't worried about anything though.
In fact, Mkimya wasn't. Most lions didn't travel towards the border... At least, that's what she heard. Though, her mother didn't aprove when she wandered into dangerous places.
The adult klipspringer stopped and nuzzled her son who was pressed against her side, glancing around like something was going to spontanouesly combust. She shook her head and smiled, scanning the clearing for any signs of movement.

Near the tall grasses that both Mkimya and Kucha inhabited, Kutulia continued to debate entering. Her movements were silent and her small form did not disrupt the earth beneath her as she moved. She had learned from her family that it was best to be unseen if she was to ever venture even close to the roguelands.
Releasing her long, white ear, Kutulia took a breath and continued to glance around. For as far as she could see the land was clear. She could not see any lions crouching low, or other creatures of similar size.
Taking a few steps forward, Kutulia paused. She was now beyond the point her father had always taken her. With wide pink eyes, she looked around again as though to make sure her first assumption had not been wrong.
"Alllrriigghhtt...." She whispered, a smile appearing on her face. The land still seemed clear and that was enough to inspire her to continue forward again. This time, however, she found that her calculations had been incorrect. Standing only a few feet away were two strange creatures, one of which had horns!

Mkimya looked completly back, just in case anything was crouching low in the grass, stalking them or something. She then glanced back at her son and let out another sigh. "Well, come on then, we'll go back home..." she said just a little irratably, though smiled when Kucha gave a small squeak of joy.
She turned back on her path, going directly where she came from.

Although Kutulia was surprised at the sudden presense of the strange creatures before her, she was saddened to see them turn around and leave. By the looks of them and from what she had heard in the pridelands, they looked like herbivores. If that was the case then they did not pose a threat at all.
Taking a few more steps forward, Kutulia tried to speak. "W-wait!" She did not mean for it to come out so loudly, but this was her first encounter with strange animals and she didn't want it to pass without learning anything new. "What are you?" She threw out a question, hoping that it came out quieter than the first.

Kucha looked back first, though he wasn't all the startled. He'd seen a hare before, so it wasn't all that strange for him. "Mum, it's a kibaraka," Kucha said, not remember that the species was called 'hare' and not Kibaraka.
Confusion embraced the adult and she turned as well. "Ah, you mean a 'hare', darling." She commented, letting herslef walk toard the hare. "Hello," She said sweetly. "We are Klipspringers," She said tilting her head a bit. Did more hare not know what klipspringers were?

Kutulia cocked her head at the mentioning of the name Kibaraka. She hadn't introduced herself and did not recognise the name in which the young klipspringer called her by. "Kibaraka?" She asked curiously. Perhaps it meant hare in their language. Did they have a language of their own? Kutulia blushed a bit, knowing little to nothing of the creatures before her.
When the young adult hare noticed that the mother klipspringer looked confused as well, she felt a bit more comfortable. Although Kutulia was an adult, this part of the world was entirely new to her. Perhaps it was new to them as well. "A klipspringer? That's an interesting name. I'm a hare, but my name is Kutulia." The hare did not know whether or not they knew what she was, but by the younger klipspringer's statement, she guessed not.
Eager to learn more, Kutulia also asked another question, "What are you doing so near the pridelands? Aren't you also members?"

"Ah, sorry. Kibaraka is a friend of mine. My son is just young..." She stated trailing off. Mkimya smiled softly. "Ah, forgive me, my name is Mkimya," she said.
Kucha shy and embarassed, didn't want to speak, though his mother was looking at him expectantly. "Ah..m... My name i-is Kucha," He said to the hare. He'd already made a fool of himself.
Mkimya nuzzled her son a bit. before answering the hare's further questions. "Oh, I was just up for a change of scenery... and I've been here before. We live near a waterhole in the Grassland though, out in the 'rouge lands'."
What a curious hare...

Kutulia smiled, finally understanding why the younger klipspringer had called her by a different name. When she was told that Kucha was younger, she became even more curious, "Do all of your young have those things on their heads?" It was fascinating to Kutulia to meet such different creatures. Surely there were others in the pridelands, but during hunts, Sungura and Cheshi always remained in the den.
As Kucha responded, Kutulia smiled and took a short bow before the mother and son, "It is a pleasure to meet you Kucha and Mkimya. You are the first klipspringers that I have ever met!" She felt a bit bad for embarassing the poor younger one, but hoped that through conversation he might be more comfortable.
When Kutulia heard that they lived in the roguelands, Kutulia's pink eyes became wide again, "The roguelands? Aren't they dangerous?"

Mkimya smiled. "Only male Klipspringers have horns," She answered. She felt Kucha shuffle and lean against her side a little.
"So, you've never been out of the Pridelands?" Mkimya concluded. "The rouge lands aren't too dangerous. But I guess it depends..." The Female Klipspringer shook her head lightly.

Kutulia nodded to the statement regarding the horns. She could understand why the males would need the horns, opposed to females. She had witnessed the aggression that came between juvenile male lions towards females they were interested in. She winced a bit at the thought of the male lions having a set of horns to attack one another with. It was a good thing lions were horn-free.
Nodding again, Kutulia continued to speak, "No. This is my first encounter with the roguelands. My father told me to stay closer to the pridelands because the roguelands was very dangerous..." And glancing down towards Kucha, the female hare smiled broader, "It seems as though it's safe enough for him though.."
And because Kucha hadn't spoken much and Kutulia felt a bit guilty for keeping them, she waved her paws in front of her face and blushed, "I don't mean to keep you.. I just was curious.."

"No, it's alright," Mkimya said. "You didn't really keep us. We'll still be home before it gets too dark," Mkimya stated kindly.
Kucha didn't know what to say, so he stayed quite. If only he had siblings, huh? He probably wouldn't be so shy.
But...
"Are you goin back home now?" Mkimya asked curiously?

Rather embarassed about how naive she was to the outside world beyond the pridelands, Kutulia simply nodded and glanced back towards her home. She was an adult now, but she still had so much more to learn. How could she ask her parents when her mother nearly fainted at the simple thought of losing her two daughters?
Smiling at how gentle Mkimya spoke, Kutulia took a short bow in thanks. "It was a pleasure meeting you. And your son is adorable. I am glad that I was able to learn from such kind klipspringers.." And realising that she hadn't yet responded to the question, Kutulia turned a pale shade of pink and answered, "Oh yes.. I'll be heading home. As you mentioned, it should be getting dark relatively soon.."

Mkimya gave a small bow, though it was more of a dip of her head. "It was nice meeting you." Kucha followed suite. "Iw was nice metting you, Miss." He commented, a bit shyly on his part.
Mkimya nudged her fawn towards home.
