Gaian Name: Syric Irash

Character Name: Syric Shepherd

Age: 22

Sex: Male

Race: Caucasian

Birthplace: Small town, Ohio.

Current Home: San Fran, California

Occupation: Unemployed.

Appearance:
A picture of Syric. Last Halloween, in his home town.
He has long, shaggy, light blond hair, fair skin, and blue-gray eyes, and is 6'3" tall. He's very handsome, with his masculine face, broad shoulders, a sturdy but slender frame, and a muscular build.
He usually has a five o'clock shadow.
As for his clothing choices, he dresses in cool colors. Mostly blues, grays, and blacks. Usually just a t-shirt, jeans, and a jean jacket, weather permitting, suits this handsome young man just fine. As for foot ware, a comfortable pair of steel-toe boots.
He's been told, by multiple people, that he looks like Trent Reznor, his idol.

Personality: Charismatic and rebellious, Syric doesn't like to be controlled and told what to do. However, he isn't volatile. He'll shrug off most insults without much fuss, maybe even throw a few back offhandedly. But, when it come to fights, Syric has a tenacity that is hardly ever matched. In truth, he enjoys the thrill and rush of bare-knuckle brawling. But, he doesn't go looking for those fights.
Mild mannered and laid back, he takes life at a slow pace, tending to absorb set backs easily. Always cool and collected, Syric can get out of practically any situation. He can be profoundly deep at times, sometimes to the point that practically no one understands what he means.
He is very consistent in emotions and actions, but does have a tendency to put things off until the last second.
He is a great friend, and lover some of his partners have said. He can also be kind of a flirt, using his natural charm and good looks to woo the ladies. He doesn't demand much of others, because he would rather do things himself, without help. He may have some abandonment issues, because of his past.
While he is quiet at times, Syric has a subtle wit that those close to him realize. He can be very funny when he wants to, often becoming the life of the party by being such an enjoyable person.
At Syric's worst, he is lazy and unwilling to work at anything. He gets stuck in a rut when he's distressed, often just becoming apathetic or angry at everything and reclusive.
At his best, Syric is optimistic, and just a great guy all around. He thinks he's invincible, and it is often shown in his actions, like staying out until the wee hours with friends when he has to be at work at 6 am.
He is a real music-lover, usually listening to more Metal, Electronica, Rock, and a menagerie of other genres. He can often be seen sporting a shirt of his favorite band, Nine Inch Nails. As well as music, he also likes video games and movies.

Power/Description: Spark
Syric can generate electricity with his nervous system, using it to shock foes or power up a car battery. He can alter magnetic fields, become a human magnet or repulse metal objects near him. Not only can he power up a battery, he can also suck the juice out of it. This gives him a boost of energy, that gives his shocks a bit more kick.
Plus, with his nervous system being so powerful as to send shocks out of his fingertips, he has super-quick response times. He's not super fast, no, but his reflexes are superb.

Greatest Strength: He can send lightning out of his fingertips, and he's good in a fight. With his heightened reflexes, he can dodge things that a normal human couldn't. Electricity doesn't affect him, either.

Greatest Weakness: He gets fatigued as he uses his powers. The longer he uses, the weaker he becomes. It takes some time for Syric to recharge his powers, unless he has a large enough power supply. Then he can use for as long as the power supply will sustain him.

Biography:
Syric was born and raised in a small town in northwest Ohio. He was an only child with two loving, supportive parents. Still is, for the most part.
In his early school years, Syric fit in well with the other kids. He was bullied now and then for being an only child, but he was friends with pretty much everyone. He received good grades, made friends, and generally had a happy life. He was happy, for a while.
But, as he got older, things started to change.
His parents slowly grew angry at each other when he turned age 10. His parents were on the verge of divorce. His grades plummeted. His friends had slowly been forming cliques and such, so Syric felt he was losing friends, too. This caused Syric to act out for attention, and fall in with a bad crowd. He was angry that things were going this way. The situation at home wasn't the greatest for Syric, and it caused sadness.
This low spot lasted for a few years, until his parents fully patched things up.
When the young man entered his teen years, around age 14, give or take a few months, he hit puberty like most other young men. But, unlike the other young men, Syric had a little bigger change. That's when he gained his power.
He knew he was different than his classmates, even before he gained his powers. His hopes and ideas were larger than the village he grew up in. He wanted more out of his life than the other kids did.
So, he accepted the fact that he was different than his friends easily, and started to learn more about his powers.
By age 18 he had full control over his power, or so he thinks. He is open to the idea that his power can become stronger.
Also by age 18, Syric had a small group of friends, had had three girlfriends, and a 3.7 GPA. He was still sad and angry about his perdicament, being stuck in that closed minded, ignorant town, but he couldn't do anything about it. So, Syric stoically accepted his surroundings, and looked forward to College.
He didn't graduate with honors, but he did graduate. That was good enough for him.
His family's financial situation restricted the colleges he could go to. Luckily, there was an affordable college that had one of the best Motion Picture Production programs in the entire US within 3 hours drive of his home.
Syric went there, but nothing exciting really happened. He had fun, went to class, had a few romantic partners, played with his powers, and made new friends. He did graduate, too, with a Bachelors in Motion Picture Production.
So, now, he's gone to California in hopes of putting his college education to good use. His parents are happy, he finally is happy again, and ready to live his life.

Now, some of you may be wondering why he has had so many girlfriends...
Well, he's very attractive and has a personality to die for. The only problem, though, is how much Syric didn't care. Most girls broke up with the young man because of his apathetic view on his current life, and the way he never wanted to go to parties.
His most recent girlfriend broke up with him because they were going their separate ways, he to California, she to Minnesota. So, they broke up happily, hoping to see each other in the future and wishing well to the other.
