Misae had taken the early morning initiative to go on a run, managing to catch himself something to eat. He was frusterated that he couldn't eat the whole beast, though, and had to resign himself to leaving it for the vultures and hyena to salvage what was left of it.
He made his way towards a watering hole, realizing that he was getting a bit close to the Pridelands. Everyone who had spoken to anyone knew what the huge rock was, that spiraled towards the sky like a herald to all of those around.
It was nice, but perhaps not for him. Too many lion in one small spot. Not that he minded lions, but...
With his ears perked forward, he had found what he was looking for, finally. He bent down to take a drink, wanting to take his fill before giving himself a groom before he would debate on what to do for the rest of his day.

Black paws padded softly through the grasses towards the water that she had been directed to. The voluntary mute had to admit that it was difficult conveying what she was searching for to the blue male she had recently parted ways with but in the end he understood. Thankful to have now reached the water she padded up to the edge of the water having it lap at her paws as she leaned over to peer down at the image reflecting back at her.
Green eyes stared deep into the eyes of their reflection studying the features, trying to pick out any changes that might have happened since she started out on her own. So far there wasn't much of a change, no she simply looked a bit older than the last time she had really paid any attention to her reflection. Grinning she stepped back looking up to finally take notice of the other feline near by .
Immediately she realized that he was not a lion, but she wasn't entirely sure of what he actually was. Tilting her head she wondered how she could ask hi without speaking.

With the sound of another stirring, his drink was interrupted before he had finished. He took a split moment to glance up at the lady before him, giving her a nod before finishing his own drink. He was quite tired after his run this morning, and wanted to try and get himself as clean as he could before he would sleep off a bit of his heavy breakfast.
Oh well, he'd wait a bit longer for his nap. "Hello," he said casually, acknowledging the dark coloured lioness near him. She seemed polite enough, even if she did seem tot ake a moment to admire herself in the water. Perhaps that was better then her sloppily taking up all of the water that she could, though. So with that thought, he'd give her the benefit of the doubt.
"Lovely morning, isn't it?"

The odd colored lioness nodded her head in greeting and agreement. It was quite a lovely morning, nicer than usual, or at least what she had seen during her time in this particular section of land. This particular area. Sliding back onto her haunches she smiled brightly at the male not knowing what else to do.
Not speaking was very difficult after all, there was only so much you could saw with body language and some interpretation on the other's part. Her tail curled around her paws as she lifted one tapped the water lightly with it. Looking down at him then looked back to him with out any real reason just out of a nervous habit to make herself busy in some way shape or form when she didn't know how to continue the conversation going on.
Life was easier when her brother had been her traveling companion, he always knew what she was trying to convey and would vocalize it for her, now however he wasn't there and there was nothing she could do about it. Not at the present moment.

His orange eyes caught sight of her nodding in first a greeting, a sort of hello, and then perhaps of agreeing with him? It was hard for him to tell, honestly, but he was trying. She was just really quiet. Almost...too quiet, actually.
"Well, it's a pleasure that you agree with me," he said, laughing a bit as he tried to shake the tense feeling off of the air. What was it? He couldn't quite put a claw on it yet, but he'd do his best to figure it out.
He felt the silence creep back up again. What was he to do, to say? He had never really spent too much time with lions, as the ones he had come across as a cub were hardly kind to him. While not mean, they merely chose to sneer and leave him alone. When he had decided to skirt the Pridelands in his recent days, though, he had started to learn another side of lions. But he still didn't know how to speak with them, if it was any different from cheetah talk.
"Is there...something wrong with the water?" he asked, noticing her tap the surface of the water, but not consuming any of it.

If Kagami could have made a sound she would have laughed lightly at his response but as it was she remained silent undoubtedly unnerving the male across the water from her. Blinking at his question she immediately shook her head unsure of why he asked that question. However when she glanced down and saw her paw resting on the top of the water she realized that she had tapped it out of nervous habit. Oops.
Her tail flicked across the ground in yet another nervous habit before she started to etch something into the ground with her claw. The female wasn't sure if the cheetah could read but it couldn't hurt to try to write out her name for him so that maybe she would be able to learn his.
Kagami she wrote her green eyes focused on her task before glancing back up at the male. Then she waited her head tilted towards him, green eyes studying him as she waited to see if he'd come and see what she had been doing.

Misae was curious that she didn't laugh, or really do anything after he had said that. Just a shake to the head. Odd. Was she too shy to speak? He didn't know anything about anyone unable to speak, so the thought didn't cross his mind. Still, she seemed nice, so he had patience to try and figure out this game.
He took a coule steps forward, peering down at the scribble on the ground. He really couldn't read well, so he winced at it with curiosity. "Kag...a...mi?" he said, trying to be able to read it. He thought that he got it, and his eyes shot back up at her.
"So you can't speak?" he asked. He didn't know the correct term for it, since he had never come across it before.

Kagami was practically beaming at the cheetah when he slowly, but correctly read her name that she had taken the time to etch into the ground. However a flicker of disappointment crossed her features when she did not learn the name of the male she was...well conversing with in a way. Soon enough though she was smiling again only to frown slightly at his question.
It wasn't that she couldn't talk it was that she wouldn't talk in any verbal way shape or form, not even laughing. Crinkling her nose she shrugged her shoulders. Sorta, she hoped to convey to him. In a way she wasn't allowed to speak. The reason being a promise she made to herself many, many moons away.
The purple female was a voluntary mute, she chose not to speak where at the same time she wasn't allowed to speak by her own doing. It was a very complicated thing and hard to explain, especially without words.

"Huh." Misae just didn't understand it. He could only do with what he assumed, and he assumed that she just wasn't able to speak. Interesting, and he really didn't know anything that would make it impossible for another to communicate verbally, but. What could you do? He'd do his best to try and communicate with her in other ways.
"Well, now that I know your name, I guess I should introduce myself. Misae, at your service. Do you need help with anything right now? I'd be happy to try...." he asked, his voice drifting. He cocked his head to the side, an encouraging smile growing on his face.

When the cheetah gave her his name she smiled and dipped her head in a bow. Nice ta meet ya. She hoped she told him with her actions before she lifted her head up smile still decorating her purple features. She knew that it was not only difficult for her not to talk but also difficult for the person she was trying to converse with. Obviously it was not easy to understand her actions although she tried to make it as simple as possible. Unfortunately there were times when she didn't know an action to show what she wanted to say.
At his question, which followed his name she frowned furrowing her brows together. This action was not because she was upset but simply because she wasn't sure if she needed help with anything. She had found what she wanted with the help of a blue lion earlier and now she was content, though bored. If anything she wanted to either, swim or play with someone. But how could she tell him that? Still thinking things over she shook her head but gestured over to the water then moved her paws in a swimming-like fashion. Maybe he'd understand that she wanted him to swim with her.
