Synopsis
Jason is a werewolf. He's also one of Anita Blake's best friends and sometimes her lover. And right now he needs her - not to be a vampire hunter, or a federal marshal, or a necromancer, but because his father is dying. Anita can make him look like an everyday guy, helping him say good-bye to the abusive father he never loved. The fact that Jason is not 'everyday' and Anita is far from being just a pretty woman is something they figure they can keep under wraps for a couple of days in a small town. How hard can that be? Really, by now, Anita Blake should know better. And this is the weekend that Marmee Noir, ancient mother of all vampires, picks to make a move. Somehow she has cut the connection that binds Anita and vampire Master of the City Jean-Claude, leaving them vulnerable. Dangerous even as she sleeps, buried in darkness for a thousand years beneath the old country of Europe, Marmee Noir reaches out toward power - she has attacked Anita before, but never like this. Anita has what she wants - and now she's going to take it.

ok, now i no longer have issue with this book... yet. I thought Anita was gonna go away with jason and have a screwfest like she did in Micah. This actually has merit.

it sounds fun but if she cuts off from jc what about the others damian? needs anita to live......when does it come out do you know?AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!! I HATE WAITING!!!!!!!

Sounds good in theory... but I reserve judgement until I've actually read it.
For one thing, the result of whatever marmee noir chooses to do could result in Jason and Anita having the ******** that we all assume is going to happen. *shrug* lol

I just wonder if the marks are actually going to be removed in this one or not. We all know Marmee Noir is powerful enough to somehow do it. I just hope this book doesn't have Anita god-moding the entire time.

But that's how I kinda felt about the Merry books but now they really hooked me so Ima wait and see.

I liked it better that way. Then she doesnt have to be having sex every ten pages with every man around her. There can be some story like the first 5 or 6 books hopefully, but I dought it. Before there was a balance. But the scales seem to be tilting with the lastest books.......... I love Anita Blake ...I love Anita Blake....I love Anita Blake....um ha? what...did I say something?

I'm glad I'm not the only person who felt that way. But I'm hoping it gets better and there will be a good and intersting plot.

Yay, Jason action. I'd totally pinch his cheeks like an annoying aunt if he was real.
But, as stated, I am crossing my fingers for not having a screw-fest. Much as I like smut, I like smut with plot better. Mommy Dearest making her move is a scary thought but Anita is going to pull through because she's the star. Maybe Hamilton'll kill off a few of the huge list of characters. I know I'd go completely BONKERS trying to keep track of them all as I wrote.
