She'd wandered away from her family for a bit of alone time and was having fun watching a stream run along it's track. It was a small stream but it was still icey from the cold and that meant it was horribly clear. There were shinny pebbles down under the water and if she tilted her head just right then she could see them glitter.
It was so nice. She'd have to tell her sisters about it so they could come see for themselves. Laughing softly she stepped across the stream and turned back so she could take a quick sip.

 Growing was... Strange, he thought to himself as he peered down at his reflection in the small stream that seemed to be flowing slower now that the weather was cold and the days were short.
Despite the amount of time he spent around the water he had never really stopped to look at himself. He knew what he looked like to an extent... His mane was long and dark, like the ocean at night. His wings were darker than that with strange, skeletal, claw-like extensions that he could curl down. His eyes, he had once been told, looked like pools of darkness just waiting to drag someone down.
He didn't look at people often because of that now that he was older. He kept his gaze to himself... Or on others in a way that they would not notice. He spent a good deal of time in quiet contemplation away from the sandy shores that he had grown up on. He returned from time to time with tales for his sister but, beyond that, he enjoyed the solitude... And knowing that his brother was nowhere near.

She sighed slightly and huffed. It just wasn't as fun when she was alone. She needed to go find her siblings or her mother or something. Too bad they'd wandered off and she'd wandered off and she didn't even know if they'd be back in the direction that she'd come from.
Stepping back from the stream she turned to follow it back toward the quieter bits of the forest. Her mother liked those so maybe she'd be around there somewhere.

Sighing softly he turned away from the water, making his way back to the small clearing that he'd been making a 'home' of. The grasses there hadn't died off despite the winter weather moving in and it wasn't far from the stream. It was peaceful and comfortable and he'd always found plenty to think about there.

This place was slightly familiar even if she didn't come this way often. She usually bypassed this part of the forest when going home. It was easy to miss since it was tucked away but she figured she could wander through it just once.

He paused for a moment as something caught his eye; a brief flash of color amongst the still, gray world of winter. He tilted his head, trying to follow it with his eyes... Wanting for a brief moment to find its source.
A mare... Just as gray as the winter with black stripes... And the colors of the Aurora Borealis streaking through her mane. An enchantment of some sort, he supposed, having never seen something such as that before.

She stopped before she could step on a small patch of clover and smiled. Oh that was a treat. She'd only ever found a few mouthfuls of this stuff but her mother told her it grew all over the place when it was warm.
Not noticing the other presence she leaned down and nibbled on the clover flowers.

He watched her for a moment longer before recalling what few manners he had. It was impolite to watch someone for long without moving on or making oneself known and, as this was his 'home', he did not want to move on. He cleared his throat as quietly as he could, not wanting to make the mare bolt. He didn't want to disturb her... Just to let her know that she wasn't alone.

She jumped slightly when she heard someone else near by and looked up quickly. "Oh .... I'm sorry." She should have noticed someone else there. It was horribly rude to not notice someone.
"I should have seen you there. Hello." She smiled brightly at the stallion who wasn't far form her.

"Hello." He smiled softly, looking up to her for a moment before lowering his gaze, still not wanting to frighten her away. "... Don't be sorry... You didn't do anything. Most people don't notice me... I tend to blend in on days like this."

"Blend in?" She laughed softly. He didn't seem like he'd blend in all that well with anything unless it was a stormy sky. "I'm sorry ... i shouldn't be laughing. You just don't seem so much of a winter landscape as if you belong in a storm troubled sky."

"If the winter landscape is beneath a grey sky and in the shadow of woods? You missed me at first, didn't you?" His brow lofted slightly as he tilted his head towards the mare. "Forgive me... I must have left my manners down by the sea." Placing one hoof out in front of him he bowed his head politely. "Acheron."

"Well yes, but i wasn't exactaly looking either." She probably would have missed something if it had been blinding yellow. It was silly of her not to pay attention and she knew better but it had happened.

"I should hope that you have never heard a name such as my own... To have another of me wandering around would probably be more than my family could bare." Then again, it might not be all that bad. He was quiet more often than not and tended to keep mostly to himself. "Kalosyni, it is a pleasure to meet you."

"Well as long as they didn't look like you then it wouldn't be another you" Unlike her and one of her sisters. They were almost twins and it would have been easy to confuse them for each other. "It takes more than a name to make someone"
