It was a snowy winter day, and Adaya was experimenting how fast she could run on the frozen river. she was having so much fun, but then, kerplonk! Adaya fell in. Adaya scowled and got out of the river grumpily.

What was that? Narrowed dark olive eyes turned to peer over a creamy shoulder. It sounded like ice shattering. Her black eyebrows furrowed and she stood following the sound of splashing that now reached her ears. It sounded as though some fool had fallen through her precious ice.
As she came closer she could see the river and sure enough there was some idiot horse scrambling out of the sure to be numbing water. "What have you done?" She asked her frigid voice holding a bit of a growl in it. The poor ice had shattered.

Adaya shook herself, half ignoring the voice. adaya was cold, really cold, and when she saw the cream coloured mare, she thought she should try to share the cold, or at least get herself dry "hello. yes, I was gliding along the ice, now I know I was wrong to," Adaya said to calm the mare"and what may your name be? I am Adaya"
She smiled calmly, trying to soften up the angry mare. "it isn't you in the water, so I don't understand why you are angry."

Her cold eyes continued to glare at the blue and snow white mare before her. On normal circumstances she may have considered her more lovely then an average mare. To break the ice though, that was a horrible thing to do. "Thorn is my name." She said simply with a flick of her crow black tail making her way past the soaked mare to survey the damage.
There were scuff marks and cuts leading up to a giant shattered hole in the middle of the river. "You are a very cruel mare and I hope you are punished for this." She said her voice low and venomous.

Adaya looked at the river, and saw the hole that she made. She admitted, that she damaged the beauty, but who was Thorn to tell her that? "Well, Thorn, I admit the river was beautiful frozen, but the river will freeze again and there will be no difference I didn't damage the river forever, and there are lots of rivers." Adaya snorted at Thorn "winter has also just started."
Adaya tried to look upbeat and cheerful, and as she trotted around Thorn, she said " The river ice isn't yours either, Thorn." adaya thought: Goodness, now I know why she's called Thorn. She probably doesn't even want to be seen with anything not beautiful. adaya Cringed at Thorns word though. "punished by who?" Adaya smirked.

"It is not the river I care about." The way her eyebrows were knotting and the way her lip trembled slightly made it look like she was about to cry. She turned about with a fiery look in her eye to face Adaya, looking her strait in the eye. "It is the ice. The first freeze of the winter is precious. Do you not see that? It is the only time that the ice will be seamless because foolish and useless creatures like yourself continue to scratch and break it and punch holes in it and otherwise ruin it!" She had somehow managed to shout the whole mouthful out in one breath and it left her panting. Her breath coming out in white clouds around her mouth and nose.
Once she caught her breath she reclaimed her normal, regal posture and prepared to continue. "The ice might as well be mine as no one else seems to care for it's well being." She laughed coldly, white clouds echoing each sound. "As for your punishment...well...punisher I'm not sure who it will be. Not myself, that's for sure. Someone worse, perhaps nature herself."

"The ice, yes, it is beautiful, but if someone breaks it every year, why do you still care? you cannnot expect it to stay frozen forever, we are apart of nature too you know,so nature wouldn't just come to punish me and yes, I did break it, This year I was 'that creature' that broke it." seeing Thron so close to a patch of ice near the slope leading into the water, Adaya stepped foward, forcing Thorn to step back. Adaya smiled her crooked smile and she had a glint of mischeif in her eyes.
"I already broke the ice,so you wouldn't care if I did this," Adaya playfully shoved Thorn onto the patch of ice on the slope, and Adaya galloped down the slope after her, onto the river, cracking more of the ice with her weight. Adaya thought: I might as well make Thorn fall as well.

"True I can not keep the ice whole forever but it would be nice if it could lat at least until the second freezing day!" She snapped. If looks could kill then that mare before her would be dead. She would be buried in the ground up over he head so all the blue would be gone. It was at this time she was sad that looks could not kill but she could be sad for long because she was being shoved out on to the ice.
"No! Wait stop!" She cried looking worriedly as the frozen ground vanished from under her feet and was soon replaced by ice. Her eyes widened with horror and she was shaking her head in disbelief. She had just committed a sin. She was scuffing up her beloved ice.
Angrily she turned to the mare that had just made a batch of fresh cracks in the ice and she looked so pleased with herself. "You horrible thing look what you made me-" Her words cut off suddenly as the cracks in the ice started to grow and spread. Wide eyed she started to back away trying to get to land but the ice shattered beneath sending her plunging into the freezing water.

Adaya who loved to swim was pretty happy, but soon, it started to get colder. Adaya sighed and glanced over to Thorn who was struggling in the cold water, slipping every once in a while. Adaya was trying to decide whether to drag her out or to leave her be. She finally decided to help her. Adaya shoved her onto the shore, while she herself swam to the other side of the river soon after, trying to avoid Thorn's tantrum.

Wide-eyed Thorn thrashed around in the water not sure why the ground at the bottom of this river was not under her feet where it should be. A scared and strained whinny left her throat as she started slipping under the waters surface. There were no deep rivers or lakes or ponds in the are of mountains where she lived. There was no reason to learn how to swim and as her muzzle slipped under the water for the first time she greatly wished that she had.
After sinking a short foot she found the bottom and managed to kick off to bring her to the surface once again only to slide back under moments later. Several times she repeated this kicking, thrashing and sinking thing until she felt something pushing her towards the shore.
She immediately knew who it was. That fool of a mare that had pushed into the water in the first place. A short angry thought passed through her mind to just kick the mare into unconsciousness but that would land her struggling in the water again and the river would be tainted if the mare were to drown and bloat from the water. The vile image that flickered in her mind made her feel nauseous. No. She wouldn't harm this mare. She didn't want more ugliness in the world.
A short minute later she felt ground beneath her body and she let herself go limp on the land grateful for it's presence. She heard the water sloshing about behind her, it seemed that miss Adaya was afraid to deal with Thorn. The thought made the dark eyed mare smile wickedly but it didn't last long as violent shivers ran up and down her soaked body.
It was too cold here. She needed to find a way to warm herself and quick. She struggled to her feet but was only able to move a few feet before she collapsed onto the ground from a mixture of exhaustion and chills. Her normally silky mane hung like with rags all around her and the only thought the made it through her mind was how hideous and pathetic she must look right now.
((It's a bit long, sorry. I can get a bit carried away sometimes. Thank you for clarifying by the way!))

Adaya shivered as the winter breeze combed through her fur. She wasn't too cold actually, because only her feet were touching the ground. She looked over at Thorn, with a mischevious and pleased smile on her face, but it immediatly melted when she saw her vibrating like a sacred cricket.
Adaya looked around her, and saw a nice big tree, without snow underneath it. She trotted there, and since it blocked the North winds, it was pretty warm. Then she looked on Thorn's side of the river, but all she saw was the daisy white snow. She started to walk away, but then, if she let Thorn suffer when she could've helped, it would've gone against her morals.
Yes, she was a mischevious and sly mare, but it didn't go as far as leaving someone cold and alone on a bed of snow, soaked to the fur. So she looked for a bridge of ice she could cross from, but she only found the flowing river, and nothing else.
She grimaced as she dipped her hoof into the water, and her legs followed, soon she was on the other side. She thought sbout dragging Thorn through the water, but she would be dead weight, and they would both drown. So instead, she shook herself off and pressed her reasonably warm body against Thorn's flank until her shivering started to subside.

Cream colored ears flicked back as the sound of the flowing river changed. Someone was in the water. She lifted her head and turned to the water glowering at the mare as she crossed. Just what was she playing at? Finding that she didn't really care Thorn allowed her head to fall gently back to the earth still managing to look strangely beautiful even though she felt a bit like a drowned rat.
Olive eyes shut and the freezing mare did her best to focus her mind on other things. Other things like how that fool of a mare would be punished for what she had done, like how tired she was, or like how it seemed that the snow and ice had taken a liking to her. Sounds washed away as she slipped into a half sleep and she could see the white frost covering her body and she wasn't cold any more.
She let out a relaxed sigh as her dream continued. She was the ice and the snow, she was winter and she was red? Her leg was bleeding. There was an icicle in it and she was suddenly lying on a cliff side looking up at a foal version of herself. The less pretty version of herself when she hadn't been made part of the ice. Then she was melting. Warmth was rushing into her from her sides.
"Get away from me!" Thorn shouted waking to find that same blue idiot of a mare lying beside her. She was furious. Adaya had interrupted her dream and she didn't even notice that her body was not shaking from chills any longer. "I did not say you could touch me! In fact I would never say something like that to a creature like you!" With that she stood a bit shakily but she managed to stay standing this time. Once her legs regained all feeling she started to march away her wet hair leaving a trail in the frost behind her.

Adaya felt pretty tired and she zoned out for a minute, until Thorn started to move. She heard harsh words tumbling from Thorn's mouth and she got up abruptly. "Geez, some thanks I get." Adaya muttered as she saw the cream colored mare walk away into the distance. She didn't even bother to stop her, because she'd know she'd only be shot down by Thorn's anger again.
"It'll be some time before I help any horse again, because no one ever apprecia-" before she could finish, she decided to stop, cross the river yet again, and she galloped into the distance. She actually hoped Thorn wasn't too mad at her, not that she really cared if they were friends, but if she did something to displease Thorn again, she'd be on thin ice.
