Hikari looked at the magnificent building. Wammy's house said the nameplate. On the outside it looked like a normal orphanage, but truth be told it was a training ground for L's ancestors. She was going to be one of them. Hikari's parents died when she was very small, and she was in a very shabby orphanage until now. Watari (L's assistant) came to get her after hearing of her potential. Hikari was a genius to be reckoned with. Being one of the smartest in Japan at the age of 11 was truly an accomplishment. She carried her bag heavily. Despite being an orphan she had a surprisingly large amount of manga From Fruits Basket to Vampire Knight she had quite a few. She worked odd jobs for a little cash, but she got quite a few as christmans presents. SHe stood at the gate for a while. Here life would be much different. She would even have to go by Hikari. That name was foreign to her. Her real name was Airi Takeba, but she wasn't supposed to tell anyone. She needed to go to the front desk Rodger who ran the orphanage in Watari's steed promised to gibve her a tour. She walked up to the place as the gate shut behind her. She went through the courtyard to the main building. On one side of her some children her age were playing soccer, and they stared at her as she walked past. Hikari went up the steps and into the building. She stood in the large entrance hall, and walked to the right to go into the main offfice. Rodger was sitting at his desk, and looked up as she came in.
"Oh, you must be Hikari." He stood up to shake her hand. Hikari was unfarmilliiar with western customs, but took his hand anyway.
"you want the tour of course. Come this way."
