Aha! It had been quite some time since she had last drifted back home - it wasn't that she was antisocial or didn't love her family but certain things had kept her away. In particular, her newly acquired friends had distracted her terribly and thus she hadn't returned home to make her presence known. Therefore, it was unsurprising that she was difficult to recognise in terms of her appearance...in fact, she had almost completely changed.
Her hair was now much longer and to say she had inherited her father's hair would have been an understatement. It wasn't unruly but the manner in which it fell certainly gave her the windswept look that so many mares craved. Even her coat had developed a unique sheen and the delicate markings made her look even more exotic than she had been as a foal. Really, her parents had given her a fantastic set of genes when they had created her...she was positively glorious.
Aha, but no she wasn't vain or self centred, she merely stated facts as she waded her way through the long grasses towards the rough vicinity of her home. Who was to say anyone would be about? ...But it would be rather nice to explore old territory to see if anything had changed.
