So, I mentioned not long ago that I think this fandom needs a group of people who help keep things in order. That's what this thread is dedicated to doing; defending Zutara, Zuko, and Katara (or any other pairing/character, for that matter) from the bashing and flaming the Atla fandom is known for dishing out.
Edit: For the remainder of the season, several other members and I will be stepping away from the debates and ship wars. I would love if the rest of you were to do the same, and hopefully help stop the madness that has been escalating since the NYCC trailer.
If you do choose to do so, this thread will still be a place for you to vent your shipping frustrations. The only difference is you'll only be sharing your thoughts with us, and not the shippers who have angered you.
Do:
~ Defend Zutara, Zuko, and Katara from bashers and flamers.
~ Engage in friendly debates with people.
~ Try using actual proof or logical reasoning when in a debate.
~ Respect the opinions of others, no matter how different they are from yours.
~ Post reports of bashing and flaming in this thread.
Do Not
~ Claim anything is canon or not canon. Nothing is certain until the end of the series.
~ Be rude or insulting towards people you're debating with. It'll just make you like a jerk and an idiot.
~ Go into threads labelled "[Insert another pairing that involves Katara or Zuko being paired with someone else] fans only!" Be respectful of the wishes of others.
~ Bash other pairings/characters. You'll just end up being a bully and a hypocrite.

All you have to do is post in here requesting to be a member.
How do I post a report?
Just post a link to where the bashing is taking place.

I like this idea. I think I'll echo Random-gal's question, because I haven't seen any real flaming in here...But Deviantart is a whole other story...
