Yes you heard correctly. A MMORPG, with RPG Maker XP/2003 at its base. I've stumbled upon a new program that will allow me to create an MMORPG. It's rather complicated, but I'm still working the bugs out. I've dropped every other idea for the time being to devote all my time to this. Once I figure this I out, we could also use this for any future guild projects. Since, this will allow everyone of us to design the game, and play it together. It is astounding..I know. And I realize I already have a thread for projects, but I felt this one deserved its own. More updates will come.

As of now I've only figured out the very basics of this system. I pretty much came across it by accident. The program is called Eclipse. It uses sprites and tilesets from RPG Maker XP and 2003. The scripting is..tougher though, and to get everything how you want it is difficult. But yes, once I get the hang of it completely, and others have a chance to mess around with it; Then we should start talking about a guild project with this thing.
The way this works out, there is a main server opened up on my computer. That means I'm controlling the whole game right from there. I send out the game client to people and they open it, make an account, log in, and bam, they're connected to the server. Now, I can basically do whatever I want. From the server CP I could kill everyone on a map..mass exp everyone, mass heal everyone, kick them out..anything. And if all of us were online, and certain people were given higher access, they would be admins, and therefore be able to change the game and such. It's not too complicated once you figure it out. So far, that's all I have for updates.

Mmm..okay then.
I have tinkered with a couple MMORPG makers..and thus far Eclipse is the best and easiest to use. But, I'm still not much farther with it.
Right now, I just have my guy killing a couple of NPCs over and over XD

Hmm, that sounds like it would work well. biggrin Will there be an orphanage where you can adopt kids who follow you around and you can teach to help in battles?

Hm..with a lot of scripting I suppose so..but that would be tough..and I'm not nearly at that level of understanding with this thing yet. But, you CAN have friendly NPCs on maps help you fight monsters.

Eclipse... don't even worry about it..
A friend refferred me to it.. it is a waste of time.. it is not worth the hassle because to make a wall inpassable you must make an "event" type thing and you have to make loads of them on each map. plus the map sizes can't change size.. it's not worth it..

Hm? Your friend wasn't doing things right then..I've already looked over some tutorials on it, and it's really quite simple. OR your friend had an old version..they've most likely upgraded since the time your friend used it.
And every other program I've tried sucks or doesn't work..

Hm..3 or 4. I don't remember. But one requires a lot of work, and isn't worth it, like you said. The current version I'm using now though, works great.

Mhm..even if you don't find a better version, I still recommend using this..just because it's the closest thing to RPG Maker XP and it's the easiest and least complex thing we can use so we can ALL be on it at the same time..unless there's something just like this that's better and I don't know about it
