Luna cheerfully followed her Ninetales, trecking through the low grass of the plains while humming a small tune she had picked up from the radio. Nine had near-daily trips to her berry bushes, with or without her trainer. Luna, being the worried and concerned trainer she was, usually followed just in case some other trainer would spot Nine and kidnap her or something similarly horrible.
But besides that, she honestly enjoyed the trips. Sometimes they would spot wild pokemon feeding on Nine's berries. At times the ninetales would allow it if she felt that there was a surplus and the pokemon required it for survival. At worst, she would attack the pokemon on the basis that the berries were a rare species and she had throughly marked the area with her scent. The battles were always fun.
"Wonder what we'll find today..." Luna thought to herself as the approached the location.

As the pair were travelling to the berries, another pokemon had come across them. A teal-colored glaceon had stumbled upon the berries while on one of his daily adventures. Glace, who's trainer often let him roam around as long as he stayed safe, was feeling quite hungry and had picked up the smell of the fresh berry bushes. He could not pick up Nine's scent, for his nose was completely taken over by the enticing aroma of the ripening fruit.
I've never seen these kinds of berries before... Glace thought to himself at all. His stomach growled as he walked ever-closer to the bush. I'm sure no one will mind if I just eat one or two... He reached out a paw to a peculiarly large berry as he licked his lips, anticipating the first juicy bite...

Nine sniffed the air. There was something off...some pokemon was nearby. In her area. She let out a soft growl, arousing Luna's curiosity. "What's wrong?" The trainer asked to her pokemon. "Is there something nea-"
The trainer was cut off by her pokemon breaking off into a run. "GAH! WAIT UP!" She yelled, chasing after her pokemon. Soon, the two of the arrived at the berry bush, spotting the glaceon.
"Whaaa~I've never seen a glaceon in these parts..." She said, holding back Nine by putting her arm around her pokemon's neck. Nine gave the Glaceon another low growl. "Hey there! You must have a trainer...glaceon usually don't come to these parts~" She said cheerfully as she watched the pokemon chew on a berry. "But you know, you shouldn't be eating those. They're Nine's berries! And she's quite mad at you right now~"
Nine let out a small snort, flames coming from her nostrills to emphasize Luna's point.

Glace glanced up at the trainer, hearing some sort of gibberish coming out of her mouth. I sure wonder what she's saying... he thought.
His attention soon turned to the angry ninetales being held by the trainer. Completely oblivious to its fury at him, he bounced towards her with a big smile on his face.
"Hi! I'm Glace! Nice to meet you!" he said with a cheerful tone. "Would you like one of these tasty berries I found?" he asked as he held out a half-eaten berry to Nine.

Luna sighed, someone really had to invent a pokemon-language-translator sometime. Really. But it was a minor setback. She had learned to understand the gist of a pokemon conversation by listening to their tone and body language. The real problem was communicating TO them. Oh well. She would leave it to Nine. It was her bush anyways.
Nine sighed inwardly. "I am Nine, or at least that is the name I go by these days. Those were my berries and my bush." She said, her tails flickering in slight annoyance. "I marked them with my scent, but I'm guessing you didn't notice?"

Glace blushed after realizing his mistake. "Ohhh, sorry... usually when I smell food, I kinda ignore everything else," he said with a giggle.
"Sooo, why do you have a berry bush anyway?" he asked, and then began to trail off, "I've never heard of a pokemon that owns one - then again, there wasn't very much greenery where I came from anyway. The few berry bushes that grew in the snow were fair game for everyone... I guess I have a lot to learn here, huh?"

"You come from the north?" Nine asked with genuine curiosity. She had originated there afterall. And after a short pause, she decided that the other pokemon was waiting for the answer to his other question. "I have berry bushes because it's a good source of food." She paused again. You get tired of eating rattatas after a while." Nine added with amusement.
Luna was sitting on the side, getting bored of the pokemon conversation already. Nine seemed to have calmed down. Her attention turned to the berries. "Such weird berries..." She said to herself, entertaining her boredom by observing the details of them.

"FOOD!" Glace instantly perked up at the sound of that word. "Food food food! I love food! Food is great! That's how I met my trainer, after all - stole her food I did. Didn't know I did though... people really need to put labels on things," he said with a nod.
After a moment of silence, he remembered Nine's first question. "Uhh, north? Yeah, I'm from there. Lots of snow and ice and arctic pokemon. I think I recall seeing some delibirds or stantlers, buuut it was a while ago... Hey, have you ever been up there? It's pretty nice, but I think I like this land better. More food." He then rambled on as his train of thought kept plowing forward. "Though a lot of the food belongs to other people, or pokemon. It's really quite annoying, because I always get in trouble, and then they find my trainer and I always get a talk about it, but still I just can't help it when I see food, I can't even hold berries for too long before I eat them, then we have to go find more berries...."

Luna, with her fairly short attention span with conversations and things not concerning battling or pokemon, soon grew bored of listening. Sure, it was interesting at first, but the foreign language was growing on her nerves. "Meet you back at the usual place then~" Luna whispered to Nine before skittering back to Katrina. She prayed the two pokemon wouldn't get into THAT much trouble. Ah well. She trusted her pokemon, Nine could handle herself.
Nine gave Luna a slight nod of dismissal before attempting to piece together the glaceon's current topic. "You are welcomed to visit my bushes then, although you shouldn't take too much. If you leave some to grow, more will sprout to eat." She said with a sagely voice. She was a berry farmer afterall. "And you are in civilized human lands now." She said with a bit of disdain, "everything belongs to something or another in their minds."
Nine's eyes glowed slightly, a berry glowed with a dark aura before floating off the bush and towards Glace. It was a friendship offering of sorts, at least in Nine's mind. "You best be careful, if your trainer isn't with you, then other humans attempt to battle or catch you. It's quite annoying."
Nine flicked her tails with slight annoyance again. She remembered several times when trainers attempted to battle and then catch her for her odd coat. They were quite surprised when her crazy trainer suddenly dropped down from her flying teammate, Prince, and started to flail at the other trainers. Although amusing, she found the chasing, and sometimes stalking, trainers quite annoying.

Glace smiled from ear to ear at hearing that Nine was letting him have a berry or to. "Ohhhh thank you thank you!" he said with enthusiasm, "I promise I won't eat too many, I mean maybe a few big ones, but they're pretty juicy and will fill me up fast..." He saw the berry floating above him, and hopped up in the air and caught it in his mouth. He swallowed the whole thing in one gulp. "Mmmmm... thanks!" he said as juice dripped down his jaw.
"Hmm, I can't say I ever had any trainers after me yet... my trainer trusts me a good amount and knows I wouldn't get into trouble! ...of course I also told her I was known as a great battler amongst my fellow pokemon up north," he said with a smirk. "Too bad I never actually battled before, heheh... err... Hey, do you know anything about battling? From what I hear it seems to involve using special moves, but I'm not too sure what mine are, though I did pound on this one fat little eevee who thought he could snatch a berry from me while I was eating it..."

Nine almost visibly sweatdropped. The glaceon was a strange pokemon indeed. "How exactly did you communicate with your trainer?" She asked, wondering if that was even possible. Her trainer was so horribly dense sometimes.
"And your trainer should know your moves. Hasn't your trainer practiced with you yet?" The elder pokemon asked. "My trainer practices with me and my team mates all the time. We've been working on a few moves. I've battled plenty of times. If you wish, we can battle sometime. Perhaps you can learn something?"

Glace thought for a second. "Well, we walked by this big stadium thingy, and saw these pokemon fighting. Wanting to look good in front of my snazzy new trainer, I merely huffed at the pokemon, and strutted around them like some big shot. Sunnie seemed to be pleased, so I was happy, because when I make her happy, she gets me treats!" He licked his lips as he thought of the delicious poffins her trainer had made on occasion.
"Err, not really... she's very strange. I try to drag her over to a field or some random pokemon to fight, and she just doesn't get it - she turns pink and pulls me away." Glaceon thought a bit. "She does tend to turn pink a lot... she looked just like a pecha berry when I first saw her, and she didn't really go by the other trainers very much... then I saw a pokeball fly at my face, and next thing I knew, I saw her again, but there wasn't any snow or anything, just bright sunny fields, and I was really confused, but then we hung around a bit, and it was nice, and I decided that she was a pretty cool human - I've heard bad things about those humany folk, but how bad can somebody who gives you food really be?"

"Very, but you should keep your innocence for now." Nine stretched her hind legs a bit and decided the conversation had gone on long enough. The Glaceon was quite naive, but she didn't mind much. "Would you like to help me with my berries?" She asked, disappearing into a nearby bush, most likely signaling Glace to follow.
Nine always liked having an extra helping hand. She often enlisted any help she could get, a three-ish acre berry patch was quite hard to manage after all.

"Very? Like what do you mean? Huh huh huh?" Although he was still confused at Nine's comment, Glace went on to answer her question. "Help with berries? Okay! Sounds fun! Berries are quite delicious, and they look pretty coo-hey, where'd you go?" Seeing the rustling bush, Glace jumped into it, following after Nine.
"Soo, what kind of help? Because if you have too many, then I'd sure be glad to help you get rid of some of them!" he said with a lick of his lips.

"No, you will be watering them. Wince natural rain doesn't come here that often, the berries need water to grow faster, fatter, and firmer." Nine said, continuing to twalk towards the heart of her territory to the lake where her trainer provided her with watering cans. "You're free to have some after you're finished." The black ninetales added.
