Teacup hooves, all solid black save for that one hind left foot, splashed delicately on the edge of the shore's waves. Caelyndei wandered only deep enough to splash her fetlocks as the water was blisteringly cold and the sea breeze salty and harsh as it cut across the little paint's face and stung her nostrils, ruffling and tugging at her fluffy foal mane. Despite the brutally cold weather Cynara's daughter was glad for the change in scenery. Woods and pastures were only so exciting when covered in suffocating layers of winter snow. At least the sea was something different to look at.

Jade gaze watched the dark blue waves thunder forward like so many galloping Soquili, causing her to nervously back a bit further out of the water her soft coat thick and puffed from the cold, causing the bay and charcoal filly to look like a muddy cotton ball. Cautious eyes watched the wave rise high above her head like the mouth of some monstrous beast to crash against the shore and rise in a layer of tickling sea foam around her dancing hooves. Caely was convinced the large body of water was alive, that something underneath the darkness caused it to act as violently as it did.

Her imagination quickly carried the notion off, thinking that if she wandered too deep into the water the creature would grab her heels and pull her deep beneath the undertow. Shivering a little from the cold and a little from the image of paddling against the sand as some mysterious thing lured her out into the depths far from the surface. Down to where there may have been many other Soquili that had been drawn into the beasts trap and forever lost beneath the waves, held in captivity by the thing that created the angry waves which beat upon the pale sands of the shore.

The Golden orbs that blinked back from the trees, were catlike as Micah gazed into the sky, from the safety of cover. His large orange buckskin body heavy and solid as he continued to stare at the blue hues of the sky. The ground was solid and frozen as he treaded over the snow tops.

Pine trees were covered in white powder, and he emerged from the forest, to escape the falling of the snow. Branches blew in the wind, casting the snow once more throughtout the sky.
His eyebrows narrowed as he came closer to the shore and sand of the beach. He had no idea what had urged him to come to the beach this day.. It was cold, and bitter, and even he, being the happy soul he was now, was not really in the mood for such travels.

It as like the waves called to him as he walked. Like they spoke to him quietly, and spoke only to him. But that was silly. Waves didnt speak. Nor did they call you and summon you to them.. But the natives had spoken of Sirens. Creatures who could lure any unsuspecting male to their clutches of death. He had never been one to believe it.. Nor was he about to be.
He huffed, a little puff of air emitted from his nostrils as he breathed, almost cloudlike.

His eyes caught the paint filly, playing gingerly in the water. He thought her absurd, to be playing in such depths at such temperatures. He should give her parents a good talking to. Maybe then they'd watch the filly closer.

But she looked so familiar. Something about those jade eyes that sparkled from her head.

Oblivious of the stallion that had come to watch her, as of yet, Caelyndei gasped in surprise as the tide around her hooves dragged the sand with it. Her footing sliding out right beneath her, effectively drawing the foal towards the bitter cold tides. Squealing in surprise her small frame leapt backwards away from the intimidating spray of the nearing waves, prancing along the edge of shore just out of reach of the water's edge. That was awfully tricky water monster! Trying to take the sand under me! But you go ahead and try that again! I won't fall for it this time! You won't get me! Just try!

Plucky little filly yelled to the vast sea before her courageously as she danced in the dry sand bed causing the grains to sprinkle behind her with the high, proud steps of her spindly legs. Holding her small head high, it was just then that bright green optics caught sight of the stallion several paces away. Jumping in surprise, a little embarrassed to be caught so enveloped in taunting the ocean Caely's sleek brown ears folded back against her blond mane shyly. Not completely put off by his appearance the tiny filly pranced forward hesitantly, tail wagging in a friendly manner, eager to greet the stranger. Maybe far more eager than any foal should have been, she certainly didn't have much common sense about her.

...A...are you here to play too?

Micah raised his head in surprise as the filly caught sight of him. His eyes widening a bit. Oh man, she didn't look like a Siren at all. So silly of him for even entertaining the story in his mind.
"You're definately too small to be a Siren."

He said to her, not really taking into account that she would have no idea what he as talking about. He wasn't a very foal-friendly stallion, only in the way that he generally tended to speak to foals the way he did with adults. He was always friendly to foals, so that wasn't his issue.

He finally caught what he said, and shook his head, trying to clear the thought from his head.
"Er-Uh..Im sorry."
He said, looking back at her with golden orbs.

"No, Im uh.. Not here to play. I like to look at the water. Its much too cold to play in it."
He said, cocking his head, waiting for her reply.

He wasn't sure whether he had confused the girl or not, but if he did, his face said he regretted it.

"Whats your name young one?" He asked, his face soft, voice strong.

To small to... huh? Caelyndei looked thoroughly confused by the mysterious comment, causing her to giggle softly as her hesitant pace picked up a little until she was standing near his side. Her fur moist from the damp sea air and tousled from the breeze. Greeting the older Soquili with a gentle nuzzle of her cold white muzzle against the side of his forearm her expression was gentle and unimposing. He was the first stallion she'd met outside of her own family.

Nodding thoughtfully at his answer, Caely's gaze absently drifted towards the water, prancing around to stand in front of him with a curt nod. Well.. that's okay. There's a monster in the water anyway. He might try and get you if you go in there.

Stating rather matter-of-factly, jade hues lifted to the stallion's white face thoughtfully. It still fascinated Caelyndei that she had yet to meet any two Soquili that looked alike. After a moment she added hopefully. Don't worry though, you can go by the water if you want. I will trick the monster into trying to get me instead!

Lifting her head high she strutted her tiny body across the golden sand valiantly as if intending to escort the much larger stallion and see to his safety. Silly girl. Slender ears flicked as the filly pranced, her butt still much higher than her withes as lithe frame grew unevenly. Given time her back would even out and if the mares before her were anything standard to judge by, she'd be quite a precious piece of work, smiling as she glanced over her shoulder at the other, finding his presence comforting. My name is Caelyndei! How about you, mister? What's your name?

Suddenly turning to face him her attention was quite rapt, trotting briskly back to his side with a blissfully naive smile.

Monster? Sea monsters now? He raised his head to look over the filly to gaze at the ocean. He saw no monsters, and her behavior was awkward. She was indeed a silly little thing.

"Monster now? Surely theres no such thing." He said, smiling at her slightly. He wasn't good with others foals.. But she looked like Cynara in a way.. She had her eyes.. He knew instantly who this filly belonged to, and he felt terrible for questioning the parenting skills prior to knowing her lineage.

"My name is Micah. It's a pleasure to meet you.." He said, gazing back at the ocean and keeping a close watch on the ocean.
No monsters right?

The young foal watched Micah gaze at the ocean behind her, she wasn't sure why but she she could almost gather an incredulous look from his expression. He.. he didn't believe her. But she wasn't lying! There really was a monster under the waves! It had tried to suck her in! She had heard it roar all hungry and mad like when she had escaped from the tugging currents as the shore fell away into impossible depths. However, if the stallion insisted there were no monsters, who was she to say otherwise, no matter what she had felt and heard.

...n-no such th-thing? She tried hard to push the upward inflection out of her voice, but it managed to find its way in there. Caely winced inwardly for questioning him, lowering her head as she tried to shake off the chill of the salty moisture clinging to her fur. No.. I-I mean.. r-right. No such thing. That's sil-silly.

Tiny voice trembled with uncertainty, youthful vigor all but having evaporated as small, black dusted shoulders rounded and her head hung low abashedly. She felt foolish now, for being sucked into the world of magic and wonder where most foals spent a great deal of their time. Edging sideways defeated green eyes rolled up to the stranger with a small smile of greeting, nodding politely. I... It's nice to meet y-you, too.

Micah saw the poor filly actually wilt when he spoke, and he bit his lip, wishing the words hadn't been spoken like that. He was only kidding.. He hadn't meant to hurt her. But her personality was gone. She only used polite facade, and personally, he hated himself.

"Oh Caelyndei, I.. Why I was only kidding. I won't go near the ocean, because I always wondered what could eat me out there. Now here you come, and prove to me that it's true!"
He said, smiling, looking sincere and bright. He hoped that she bought his story, as he wouldn't really go near the ocean...

"Do forgive me for joking, dear. I was only kidding."

His tail flicked, and his ears rose as he gave her a smile. She was cute. He could see the Cynara in her. It was just.. Cute.
