NOTE: I meant Greek/Roman Gods vs. Harry Potter

OK, well ever since I was a little kid, I've been interested in the Greeco-Romano gods (e.g. Zeus, Hera...) Of course, I don't worship or necessarily believe in these gods in any way (if you wanted to know, I'm Christian and I plan to stay that way.) But we all know that most of these gods are fashioned to have very anthropomorphic attributes. You know, Hera is often jealous, Hermes is cunning and playful, Aphrodite is vain, Athena is a bit too rational, Poseidon is easily angered and promiscuous, etc. If you HAD to, how would you assort these gods into the four different houses?

Only 2 per house! ^^"

And out of curiosity, which god resembles which Harry Potter character the most?

So, well, I would do as follows.

Gryffindor:

Ares (God of War)
Artemis (Goddess of hunt, often symbolized with the moon)

Ravenclaw:

Athena (Goddess of wisdom, war, crafts, etc)
Hermes (God of thieves and merchanting)

Hufflepuff:

Demeter (Goddess of earth[?])
Dionysus (God of wine and festivities)

Slytherin:

Hades (God of the underworld)
Eres (Goddess of discord)

Gryffindor
-Zeus, Lord of the sky, king of the gods, because he was pretty ballsy, as far as I'm concerned.
-Artemis, Goddess of the hunt, protector of the young. 'Nuff said.

Slytherin
-Hera, Zeus' wife, goddess of married women and marriage. Tortured all of Zeus' b*****d kids instead of him.
-Hermes, God of theives! Duh!

Hufflepuff
-Hephestus, God of fire and the forge, is physically ugly and lame... poor Heph..
-Hestia, Goddess of the hearth, is hardly ever mentioned in myths, which is why she's here (I'm giving her some mention!)

Ravenclaw
-Athena, goddess of strategy wars, crafts, and wisdom. Name one thing in there that isn't Ravenclaw. *someone mentions war* she was good at strategizing. Duh.
-Hades, god of the underworld, because he was smart enough to find a way to keep Persephone.

AHH!

How could I forget Hephy!!?

Hephy has such a traumatic life, but he still retains a fairly modest outlook on the often vain gods. AND, he has a strong sense of morals...

I guess you could be right.

Hades is really debatable...

=]

But yea, most gods aren't really...Ravenclaw-smart. They're all clever or whatnot...

Well, I feel that Hades has a bad rep just because he got stuck being the God of the underworld... He's really not completely horrible.

Well, true but he has a bad luck. And well all know that bad luck is derived from karma coming back at you. Karma comes from being a bad person!

Lol, well bad karma at least...

Hrm, but not all Slytherins are bad, are they?
This is cool. =D
But there are so many Greek gods! Ahhh.
><
Okay, here are some random, semi-important ones...

Gryffindor:
-Zeus, with all his craziness and noble-ness
-...can't think of another ^ ^'

Ravenclaw:
-Athena, goddess of wisdom. Kind of self-explanatory...
-Apollo, a prophet and artist

Hufflepuff:
-Demeter, being the goddess who enjoyed helping people and helped the earth live
-Dionysus, he helped people and was a more personal god, not living on mt...olympus

Slytherin:
-Poseidon, he's always being nasty to people and wanting sacrifices...
-Hera, often suspicious of Zeus and shown as a petty person...

It's hard to think of who is most similar to Harry. I mean, all of them are powerful, and there isn't a "bad guy" among the gods...

I used to be obsessed with the greek gods
Anyone read Daulaire's Book of Greek Myths?
It used to be one of my favorite books =]

Gryffindor:
Apollo, since he's noble (I guess) and just.
Zeus, because he's the leader of all the other gods basically.

Ravenclaw:
Athena, since she's the goddess of wisdom =D (She strikes me as similar to Rowena Ravenclaw sort of...)
Hermes, because he's often portrayed as crafty and smart

Hufflepuff:
Demeter, because she's the goddess of agriculture and etc.
Hestia, since she's gentle and...nice...?

Slytherin:
Ares, since he's violent and mean
Eres, goddess of discord

*Edit; I forgot Eres!!! *takes out Hades* that's better.

Yea, I pretty much agree with you.

Hestia...

*gomps*

She's really awesome. Isn't she the person who gave up her seat or something so one of the new gods could have a seat in the 12 thrones of the gods or something?

*Notice my prolific usage of "or something"

Gryffindor:

Ares, god of war, pretty much explains itself.
Apollo, because he's good and he's the god of sunlight, prophecy, and love.
Artemis. She noble and good and. . .just because!

Slytherin:

Aphrodite
, she's vain and stuff. . .
Eros. He's vain too I guess.
Hades, speaks for itself.

Ravenclaw:

Athena, she goddes of wisdom.

Hufflepuff:

Demeter, not evil or really good, just helpful.

Oh this is fun!

Gryffindor::
Eros/ He's brave and has a way with the ladies. ^_-
Fama/ God of fame.

Ravenclaw::
Diana
Peitha/ Ravenclaws seem to be good at persuasion.

Slytherin::
Nike/ Goddess of Victory. She would be in Slytherin, because that's all we do. Haha.
Nemesis/ Goddess of Revenge
Venus/All of the stories I have heard with her in them, she's not so nice.

Hufflepuff::
Demeter/ She has a kind heart and takes care of the Earth.
Psyche/ Wife of Eros. She's very beautiful and curious, which is how I picture Hufflepuffs. Curious little things.

*sigh* Hades isn't all that bad. He's not like the devil or anything. Except for he stole his niece to marry her. Someone has to do the dirty work I guess.

You know, most all of the greek and roman gods would be sorted into Slytherin. You know how vain and evil all of them really are?
