Snorting in surprise at the warmth of something soft against her muzzle and the cold wetness which followed, Caely wondered briefly just what it was that had caught her so off guard. Not that anything was going to stop her, be it friend or foe! Even this stupid snowdrift was only a temporary blockade to her path to freedom. Covered in a thick layer of powdery white across the length of her back--like the blanketed and snowflake appaloosas that were often associated with her painted kin--the filly gave herself a shake and was off in a burst of speed. She might not have taken note of the darkly colored colt that had been standing there, remarkably obvious amidst so much frost and snow, if he hadn't spoken.
A puzzled glance drifting over her shoulder only to find that the foal she had left behind was at her side, her muzzle nearly touching his own as he leapt in larger, far stronger strides to catch up with her. Meeting her pace didn't seem to be a problem for him as Caelyndei found this peculiar colt running alongside her, their coats brushing in their nearness. Giving her small head a gentle toss the little brunette pinned her ears and forced herself to run as fast as her little legs would carry her away from her family.
C'mon hurry! She encouraged her companion loudly as the wind whistled against her face. Follow me!!
Spraying waves of snow everywhere, the quirky little filly skidded as she tried to scramble around a bush at a flat run, causing the leaves to rustle as she drove past it. On occasion her gaze would slide to her side to make sure the navy colt was still following, her heart racing with the elated rush that came with the freedom of running, plush tail flicking enthusiastically. Panting with exhilaration Caely twisted to look behind her, she wanted to be certain that no nosy family members were following on her tail or her effort would have all been for nothing! She couldn't run away from home if they knew where she was! C-C'mon! Just a bit further!

There wasn't much time to feel shock as the abandoned shelter which Caely had made her hide away approached rapidly, passed and was left behind equally as quick as the pair had come upon it. She had meant for her journey to end there, but just as she'd begun to slow the soft muzzle of the colt following close behind--close enough that she could see his warm breath on her flank--gave her rear an encouraging nudge. She felt her hind hooves lift off the ground with the innocent gesture and, having never been the most graceful foal, staggered and splayed in a frantic effort to remain upright. Nearly hopping on her front hooves while willing her hind end to return to the ground, it was all the little paint filly could do not to face-plant into the snow covered ground.
Luckily enough the wind raking against Caely's small sides aided to hold her upright far better than she could have ever managed standing still. Strong words from the large, navy colt made soft jade gaze slip over her shoulder to gaze at him, obviously confused. Yet despite her confusion she trusted this stranger as she trusted anyone, obediently flexing her haunches as both hind hooves came down at the same time to kick forward. Scrawny forelegs stretching as far as they could to pull the short frame of her body forward while her haunches pushed.
With the tiny burst of speed her little legs strained to grab the earth and pull the horizon closer to appease her companion. The pair's tiny hoof beats drumming a frantic tattoo against the snow frosted ground. Young and carefree their hearts soared with the freedom each stride provided as if the wind would pick them up and carry them away.
The little muddy colored filly had thought to ask why, why they were running without purpose, but his voice filled her mind strong and full of certainty. If you have time to think, run faster! Well Caelyndei wasn't going to disappoint him! Pinning her ears back with determination as her head lowered to brace against the whipping breeze that tugged at her mane she sped on urgently, her coat warming with the exertion of straining muscles.

Grinning broadly as the filly began to pick up her pace and let the spirits in her soul loose; the navy colt could almost see the wind brushing against her to carry the filly faster. This was what he lived for; this rush, this sense of attachment to the natural world and the detachment to the burdens of the mind. Aiolos usually wasn't much of a thinker like his older siblings or even his sister, rather he enjoyed to just let where fate could take him and let instinct lead the way into the unknown.
Fortunately it had mostly been in his favor for the time being, yet he was aware his luck wouldn't last forever. Nothing could; but the fun part was always looking into the horizon as if it stretched onto eternity.
Closing his eyes with faith, the colt ran as hard as his body could exert as the winds caressed his sides and pushed him onward in his run with the painted filly. The area was familliar to him as was a lot of the terrain in a vast stretch from here, able to run the boarders around the perimiter of the lands in a day before heading back home to his family. Something strange caught his senses, sniffing loudly as the scent of damp soil and rocks wafted to his nostrils. Oh yes, he was well familliar of what was up ahead; and this only brought a smile onto his lips as he pushed forth to run beside the female who he hadn't even gotten a name from.
"If you trust me....jump!" Winking his glittering rubies, the colt pushed the lasts of his energy out for a final burst of speed. Pounding at the terra, faster and faster towards what suddenly seemed to be a drop off as land vanished into air; he threw his head back with a melodious tone to his loud song - the words resonating from his very soul.
"If you just believe - You can move mountains with dreams. The higher you climb, the better it gets; 'cuz you will see things...you'll never forget. If you just believe..."
At the last note, the foal's footing ceased for a split second before vaulting his body off into the air; soaring momentarily from the momentum. Eyes alit with a magical wonder he let out a exhillarating whinny as gravity kicked in and dragged the colt down into the hotsprings below with a loud splash as he impacted with the surface. Water jumped as high as the rising steam whilst his navy body dissapeared below the surface, before seconds later his head popped back out as he swam swiftly to the shallow ends of the spring.
"That never gets tiring..." He beamed mostly to himself, standing up from the ripping waters and shaking out his pelt.
