Personality: Sophia is a goody-two-shoes to say the least. She tries desparately to find acceptable social standards to cling to in the chaos that is her home. She always feels a bit lost at Rye's approuch of letting her do whatever she likes; so the young girl quickly grew attatched to educational TV, the kind that told kids to listen to adults, take turns, and say please and thank you. She makes herself follow these rules for a sense of guidance, because having a blueprint of what to do makes her more at ease. When it comes to others she's friendly, if a little timid in first meetings.

Likes: Pretty clothes, being clean, the cold
Dislikes: Dirt, loud people
Hobbies: Cleaning, playing dress up

Name: Rye Maeve Allan
Gender: Female
Species: Human

Personality: Rye is probably the last person you'd want to entrust with children. She's all for partying hard and not committing to anything. She does whatever she wants and slithers out of responsibilities with a smile. It is nearly impossible to pin anything on her, no matter how hard you might try. So it's usually best to assume she won't be helpful at all, for it makes those moments when she does all that more meaningful.

She's the kind of person that will get along with anyone. She doesn't judge, she just smiles and enjoys your company, no matter how gloomy you might be. While she may not seem very sensitive to others' miseries, it's not quite the case. She just doesn't believe in feeling sorry for oneself. With her history, if she had been the type of person to give in to sorrow she would have broken a long time ago. Instead she tries to cheer others up and get them to relax rather then mess around with their mood swings.

This may make her seem like a pain, but often she knows exactly what to say to get someone back on their feet. She believes in people above all else and doesn't believe in fate, no matter how many horoscopes and superstitions she pretends to have. She may not be there when the dishes are dirty or when the kid needs a ride to the play, but she'll be there when it counts.

Appearance: Long black wavy hair with pretty brown eyes. Tends to wear whatever suits her fancy at the time-from risqué dresses to casual jeans and a cute T-shirt, she's up for anything.

History (for Guardians): Rye's father was hardly what you'd call parent material. He's one of the people that has the neighbors whispering about how they wished you had to have a license to have a kid. But since that obviously isn't the case, he had Rye. Unfortunately for Rye and her mother, he was deep into alcohol and very abusive. Finally he just disappeared one day without a word, leaving Rye and her mother to fend for themselves in a rundown apartment in the crappy part of the city. They handled things pretty well for their situation, but a few years before Rye was able to graduate from high school her mother was diagnosed with cancer and she died within the year. Rye managed to scrape through her last years of high school, which she only did due to her mother's wishes and the fact that you couldn't earn any kind of money without that bit of education, and from there went to find odd jobs here and there, never seeming to commit to anything at all.

Sophie made Willaim all by herself! He's her best friend, because he'll listen to anything and not tell a soul.

Nuhusi is Rye's cat. She was a stray Rye happened to pick up one day. The feline stays mainly indoors during the winter months, but when its warmer she wanders outside freely through open windows. She claims the apartment as her own, for the most part, and can be found sleeping in numerous places about it. Rye never punishes her, so she'll frequently climb upon the kitchen counter or knock over flowers. Her name comes from the supersition that black cats are bad luck.
