The growing Akida had left the den earlier in the day to scout the lands and keep up with his learning in the pride. It was nearly noon by the time he had returned from his morning walk, slowly approaching the den's opening curiously. He didn't know the whereabouts of all his siblings nowadays. With nine of them, it really was hard to keep track. Akida mostly kept to himself, anyways. He was more of the silent one, sitting back and watching the crowd and learning of all the wonderful things around him. He thought of himself as rather boring, but apparently it was a nice quality -- when he warmed up and had a little fun every now and then.

The adolescent silently peered around, awaiting to see if anything good would happen. Otherwise, he'd probably go find a small meal, and then take another walk around. It kept him busy, and he seemed to enjoy seeing how life in the lands worked. Though, the antics of his siblings were much more barbaric, Akida was always more calm and laid back than the others.

He quirked a brow. "Anyone home?" His voice was soft, and rather quiet. He was very outspoken.

Simi had returned home quite early. Well, morelike, he returned really really late last evening, and had slept in for quite a while, as adolescents sometimes did when they were lacking the sleep that they required. While he had been out late, he had merely been caught up in watching the quiet, dark, and somewhat cold world around him; it was like there was a whole 'nother world out there when the sun fell. The only side effect to being out and up all night was that he was quite sluggish today, and not feeling at his prime.

His ears perked forward, though, as he heard the voice of one of his sibilings. Having 8 other sibilings to keep track of, you quickly learned how to tell them apart.

"Akida? Hey, what's up?" he chirped, his eyes brightening at the sight of his brother. Better than their mother or father, he'd be in trouble if she knew he was out all night.

Akida continued to keep silent, as he heard the footsteps of one of his brothers coming his way. Smiling warmly, he turned and slowly padded over to him. "Good Afternoon, Simi. Nice day, isn't it?" He started off simple, but hell -- his brother asked for it -- so naturally he was going to tell what was up.

"I've been up since the crack of dawn, patrolling the lands early this morning, out of my own curiosity. I didn't notice you in the den earlier. Just returned?" He sneered. Slanting his eyes, he stuck out his tounge playfully, and turned back around, padding towards the den. "No worries, brother. I won't tell a soul. Mother might get mad if she finds out ..." He nodded towards the opening, and then sat down infront of it.

Basking in the sun would be a nice place to sit. It was warm, and there was plenty to watch.

"No, not just. Came back late, and I've been asleep for quite a while," he said, shaking off the tease his brother tossed at him. He knew his mother would probably not be happy with him, but hopefully she wouldn't be actually mad. He hadn't managed to make her mad himself, and hopefully he never would.

"Man, I can't believe it's after noon, though. The late night is so amazing, it's almost like there's another whole part of the Pridelands that comes to life after it. Now if it would only keep me from being so drowsy the next day.." he rubbed his eyes with his paws before turning his attention back to his brother.

"So how have things been with you? AreMom and Dadteaching you a lot?" Simi was mildly jealous, even if it only meant that he wasn't learning as much as Akida. He'd live with it, though, as long as he could try to learn about other things....without getting in trouble for it.

"Ah, I see. Thats fine then, Simi. I myself have pondered the night sky, wondering how it gains such beauty. Though, I'm usually busy with things during the day, so i'm too exhausted to stay up and stargaze." He himself was already rather tired from his morning patrol. Though, he didn't want to ... not learn things. He knew what he had to do, and the goal would be much easier to obtain if he stayed in line and followed all that needed to be taught.

"Yeah, time flies when your making sure all the inhabitants of the lands are fit happy?" He smiled. It really made him happy to see the members of their lands happy. It made his heart warm.

He answered as Simi questioned the teachings. "Ah, you know. The usual. The duties of the heir are rather tedious, but you know, it'll be worth it in the end. It does end up being a lot of work, though. I've been studing how others in our lands act and feel, and how to make them happier with simple things. Though, I haven't chatted with mother or father in a few days to see what i'm really supposed to be doing, I figured it wouldn't hurt to say a little greeting of good morning to those in the lands."

Wow, so his brother really was doing a lot of things. No wonder he ever saw him that often during the day. He understood, though, since soon Akida would start to get a lot of duties and responsibilities dumped on him, and Simi might not be able to casually talk to him much like he was right now.

"Oh? Wow, sounds like an interesting task," he admitted, since Simi himself liked conversation with everyone that he came across. He sort of wanted to ask how his parents were doing...if everyone was happy. It sure seemed like it, but sometimes others would admit small things to you when you were young enough, right? "I'm sure Mom and Dad are doing good, right? They sure are nice to us, I'm sure they're nice to everyone else~!"

He felt a little sheepish that he wasn't greeting everyone every morning, but sometimes he felt like he wanted to blend in a bit more than stick out as one of the royal family. Though, that was a little hard when almost everyone knew who you were.

"It is an interesting task. Lots of work, but its worth it in the end. Its really great to have the chance to talk with those in the lands, and get to know others." Akida nodded kindly as his brother spoke more. When mother and father were mentioned, he simply shook his head. "I would tell you if I knew ... but, i've been rather busy doing my other things. I need to get back at a time when mother is here, so I can find out what i'm to do next. But, can't say how they are. Its been a few for me."

Akida had come here to speak with mother, but it was a great chance to catch up with his brother! "... maybe mother will return later today."

Simi nodded, agreeing whole-heartedly with his lighter-coloured brother. It seems like their mother had been quite busy lately, and not had as much time for her children. Though, with that thought, they had all begun to grow, being young adults now and all, and it wouldn't be too long before the family would mature enough that they would drift apart, maybe even starting their own families.

The thought almost scared Simi, since he loved his family so, but....there were always things that you had no control over, and time was certainly one of those.

He shook himself from his thoughts again, though. "I sure hope so, I think she's been wearing herself out again...sometimes I wonder, really. Everything seems okay here, with the Pride, and she's still so busy...at least she can sort of have you and Sara to help her out now."

Akida frowned at the mention of mother working too hard. "One of these days, we should let her take the day off. Because she needs it. Even I am worried for her health, with all the working and care she puts into these lands. Even though we're her children, we can't even begin to realize how hard it really is."

Simi's ears perked forward at Akida's suggestion. "Brilliant!" he chimed, humming to himself for a moment as he tried to think about what the family could do to help their mother. "Akida, that is so smart. We should convince her that she needs a day off. Knowing Mother, though, one day would be hard enough for her to take off. But maybe if we all plead with her, she will take up on the offer. Especially if we could get Father into the idea, as well. A day to herself without worry about all the duties, that would be perfect for her."

His eyes glimmered at the idea. Now, hopefully he wouldn't seem too foolish with his excitement on the whole plot.

"Ah, you think so, Simi?" Smiling, Akida listened in on what his brother had to say, continuing on his idea of giving mother a break from her duties. "We should tell our other siblings later. With so many of us asking her to take a day off for herself -- i'm sure she'd be more than willing to give in." Grinning, the young male stood beside his brother and awaited to see what they would start with. Hmm. Theres was just so much they could do to please mother and let her rest from her duties.

He looked to Simi with a continuous smile. "So, what shall we do first?" He just knew his brother was cooking up a great plan in his head! He could just tell by the look on his face.

Simi bobbed his head, pausing for another moment. "Well, I think first we would need to tell Father our plot. He might be the driving force to make Mother listen." He knew how much she cared about the lands, and it was important for her to keep at her duties. In Simi's mind, though, everyone deserved a break, especially one who works so hard as she does! "Plus, he might know of a good place to take her away for the day, where she can forget everything for a while." In his mind, he was picturing something like a pretty place to walk through or maybe even just sitting near a watering hole and talking. Would that be something she'd like?

"After that, I'm sure our sibilings will go into it with ease." They all loved their mother, right? It wasn't like he talked with each of them every single day, but Mother was too sweet not to love.

"How does that sound?" He wanted his brother's opinion, just in case he might have overlooked something obvious.

After listening in to what Simi had to say about their plan, he nodded contently. "Sounds like a fine plan to me!" Smiling, Akida looked towards their home with a warm feeling in his heart. "I agree, father needs to know our plot first before we tell anyone else, after all he does know mother best."
