The Incredible Disappearing Border FenceAs my subject line reads, what can I say? Kay Bailey Hutchison, senior Senator from Texas and a Republican, channels the wishes of President Bush and kills the border fence. Never mind that a similar fence worked (and continues to work) magnificently in southern California. Never mind that the Secure Fence Act of 2006 was passed 280 to 137, including nearly a third of Democrat representatives. Neither President Bush nor the Democrat leadership appreciate that the American public oppose amnesty (or "Banana" as a certain unnamed Republican Senator would like the American people to call it) and want increased border enforcement.
But, of course, this should not be shocking. Texas Republican President appoints good friend Johnny Sutton as District Attorney in Texas...D.A. Sutton prosecutes two Border Patrol Agents for the crime of patrolling the border. Texas Republican President wants illegal immigration to continue so American citizens have an even harder time to make a living...Texas Republican Senator acts as a shill, killing the Secure Fence Act.

A few questions to mull over.
For guild Republicans, is this the GOP that you want? Is it really better to insource illegal immigrants to replace American citizens who are asking for better wages? Is it better to allow unregulated illegal immigration instead of vetting legal immigrants at a standard rate?
For other conservatives, what do you think of the track history on the omnibus issue of illegal immigration?
