Pencils2MediaMoguls is a website where fans can show their support of the WGA by buying pencils to send to the AMPTP. Al Gough and Miles Millar, Smallville producers, have said that if you buy pencils in the name of Smallville, your name will be entered into a draw to get a call from Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor), Erica Durance (Lois Lane) or Laura Vandervoort (Kara Zor-El/Kent/Supergirl). Just put "SMALLVILLE Michael Rosenbaum", "SMALLVILLE Erica Durance", or "SMALLVILLE Laura Vandervoort" as the show you're supporting. Order Some Pencils And Give The Gift Of Lex! Smallville's creator Al Gough wants to show off the power of the show's fan base and he's offering up one of his lead actors to do it.
What is going on, do you ask? To support the ongoing Pencils2MediaMoguls pencil-sending campaign to support the WGA, Al offers you... Michael Rosenbaum.
Here is some correspondence from Al himself:
So, Miles and I were sitting around the other day (which is what writers do when they can't write and their picketing shift is over) wondering what we can do to kick this Pencils2Moguls campaign up a notch. Don't get me wrong, we are stoked by the response so far, but we felt there must be something we can do to really light a fire under it going into the holidays.
Then the answer hit us -- the greatest criminal mind of our time -- Lex Luthor.
We will give the gift of Lex.
Well, not really since he is, after all, a fictional character, but we do have Michael Rosenbaum, one of the best young actors of our time (in our humble opinion). We thought, why not offer a challenge to some of these other shows who have devoted fanbases (that's right Battlestar and Buffy I'm talking to you!) and see whose fans can really deliver the goods (in this case, pencils).
So here is the skinny:
For every box of environmentally friendly pencils you buy at Unitedhollywood.com, your name will be entered into an e-raffle. We will then pick a winner at random and they will receive at phone call from Michael Rosenbaum thanking them for their support of both the cause and the show.
That is right, Lex Luthor will call you directly! Make sure you list SMALLVILLE as the show you are supporting when you click on the icon.
So, Craig, please spread the word far and wide.....and thank you all for your continued support and good wishes. We are all in this together.
Best, Al GoughLois Lane & Supergirl Support The Writers! December 10, 2007
Miles and I are happy to report tonight that both Erica Durance (Lois Lane) and Laura Vandervoort (Kara Zor-el/Supergirl) have joined the Pencils2MediaMoguls cause! They will each call a fan who is picked at random in the e-raffle. Again, make sure that you mark SMALLVILLE Erica Durance or SMALLVILLE Laura Vandervoort as the show you are supporting. So far our fans have contributed a huge number of the pencils to the campaign, but those LOST fans are on our tail, and we need to show them that Superman can beat a bunch of castaways any day of the week!

I'd die if Michael Rosenbaum called me. Seriously. I should send some pencils. The strike needs to end soon D: I miss my shows.

I don't have a way to pay for them. sad I would love for any of those three to call me, that would be totally awesome. Though I think it would be wasted seeing as a lot of other people are more dedicated to Smallville than I am, not that I'm not devoted.

lol - I might buy some Durance pencils, but I don't know if I could cope if she actually called me.
Plus I'm in England. Seems like the kind of thing which would be US-only.

Seriously I wouldn't know what to say if one of them called me. And is there like time limit on it? I'd probably waste all my time talking with them about stupid stuff cause I would be so nervous.
I bet they would call the UK. I mean there are other people out there who like Smallville. We should not keep the stars to ourselves in Hollywood.
