This morning I woke up with the usual extremely painful cramps I get the first day of my period.

I went back to sleep and woke up a few hours later and still had the cramps so I took a few tylenol. I've also been sick with a cold the past week so I've also been taking Airbourne, which is an herbal/vitamin supplement to boost the immune system and there is nothing on the package that said it shouldn't be taken with other medicines. This is all the medication I have been taking recently as I am not big on taking medicine.

Well, right after taken the tylenol, I go to take a shower to sooth the cramps in the meantime. About 15 minutes into the shower (I usually take long showers) I started to feel tingly and was shaking. I could barely stand up and I couldn't see either (there were big neon-ish blurs). This got even worse when I raised my arms above my head when washing my hair out. So I got out quickly and collapsed on my bed, where this went on long enough for my hair (which is long) to dry half-way.

I have never had this happen while I was on my period, so if anyone could tell me what it is, I'd be quite thankful.

As for the cold I had earlier in the week, as of today and yesterday the worst I had was a runny nose, so I doubt that contributed to it. However, as I woke up late, I hadn't eaten anything yet in the day except for some chocolate.

You could have been dehydrated. You could also be anemic. Being sick, not eating, and having your period all at the same time can really take a lot out of a person.

Those are just possibilities based on what you told us, however, there are many other reasons that you could have felt woozy. So this is something you might want to talk to your doctor about. In the meantime, make sure you are eating and drinking plenty.

I drink a lot of herbal tea, so I know I wasn't dehydrated, but I usually forget how easily I can become anemic which is probably what happened now that you mention it.

I'm still going to ask my doctor about it, but I highly suspect that it had to do with being anemic as I haven't been eating as much this past week as well as forgetting to take vitamins and eating nutrition bars because I was sick. I have a tendency to get anemic when I'm low on iron.

Thank you very much for a response!
