So many memories and moments had been fogged, suppressed within the depths of her mind, but now, now, she was being granted another chance, a chance to start over, have a life, have a home. Perhaps everything wasn't too bad, perhaps it was true that time could heal all wounds. Though the black goddess still felt a pain in her heart, besides the ache of her weakness, her condition, this pain was from something missing.
But what?
It could be so many things.
Flickers of what had happened so long ago sometimes flicked in her eyes, but she pushed them away, a new start, a new beginning, here, here, the Pridelands, her home.
Her home.
Ryu'Rage, had a home here.

 His demeanor had changed in recent weeks, though still prone to moodiness, Shin'Jougen had become more like his once carefree self than the angry monster he had been. Perhaps time does heal all wounds, or at least it teaches us to focus our anger on the one who hurt us rather than taking it out on everyone else. Maybe there was hope for him after all, one day he might even manage to grow up. Pftt, why would he want to do that?
A low roar drifted over the prideland earth, gently rustling the grass as it fell from the lion's maw, jaws spread in a broad yawn. Limbs stretched, paws spread as he pawed at the sky above him, belly warmed by the afternoon sun as he lay peacefully in the grass, a favorite spot to spend a lazy day, lulled into a nap by the faint sound of the nearby water.
Wakened from his dream by what he did not know, his gaze turned to the sky, drifting clouds reflected in his orange eyes, eyes brilliant as the sun. A small smile crossed his maw as he imagined various creatures in the shapes of the clouds, eyes drifting closed once again. Maybe he'd return to his nap, that sounded like a good idea.

Something, someone was close, unfamiliar, couldn't be Nix, she was much too loud whenever the goddess of lightning tried to sneak up on Rage. Flicking her tail, peering around, eyes settling on a form nearby. Shorter, almost unseeable because of the blades of grass, but dark. Quirking a brow the black goddess took a step closer, pulling her wings on her back (she had not yet been able to create an illusion about herself, plus, she thought it best not to be deceptive).
Black and white, no signs of blue, no gold either, so it wasn't Nix or Zeki, not green, so not Siltim or Od, not brown..so not Ru.
Someone new?
Rage sat on her haunches a couple feet from the stranger's spot, his spot, since she noticed his mane, and looked up at the sky, was he looking at the clouds?
A half smile crossed her maw...animals, and things in the sky.
Had she done this before?
"Do you see the hare right there?" she asked absent mindedly, not thinking if she might freak the male out, and pointed u towards a fluffy cloud, yes a hare.

Silence, he had spoken without thinking, without realizing the voice was unfamiliar, that it was female. He jumped, scurrying to his paws, he reeled to face the lioness. Man, what was with him running into so many females lately? Were there no boys left in the world?
"Who are you?"
And what did she want? He stared at her, waiting, orange eyes looking into silver. Silver eyes? Why did that sound familiar? It was a passing thought, quickly dismissed. Silver eyes, why on earth did he think of that? Half his family had silver eyes.

Rage continued to peer up at the sky, and when the male spoke, she looked down at him, but when he seemed startled, she took a step back, the fur atop her head falling in her view, her wings falling a bit to lay against her side and legs so that she didn't keep them held tight on her back. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ruin your fun or anything..." she felt bad now, ruined a game for someone who was having fun.
"I'm Ryu'Rage, I'm new around here you could say, I just came here with my sister" she said with a nod, watching him, his eyes meeting hers, his eyes were so bright and lively, they were rather lovely in color.
"Your eyes are like the sky when the sun first passes the horizon, eyes can show a lot about someone huh? Whats your name?" light cnversation, she just hoped he wasn't mad at her.
At least he didn't run away from her having wings and all.

"I just, didn't know you were there, that's all."
He shook his head, dismissing the thought. No, he hadn't been startled by a girl, no way, never happened. That was his story and he was sticking too, if Kiv ever found out otherwise he'd never hear the end of it.
But something else had caught his attention, his gaze shifting to the feathers along the lioness' back. Wings? There were lions with wings? Now that he thought of it he supposed it shouldn't have been surprising, he had heard stories of winged lions passing through the pridelands, rumor had it some had even lived there.
But wings, that must be amazing. To be able to reach into the sky, and really see the clouds as they passed by. What a view, imagine the games of tag up there.
Shaken from his thoughts by her words, his eyes turned back to hers, though he remained distracted by the wings.
"Oh, thanks, I guess, I'm Shin. You, have wings."

Ryu'Rage gave a smile and nodded, "Yes, and you have a mane," a simple statement back, but she was rather glad he hadn't run away or seem apprehensive at all. Perhaps he had met another god or goddess already? Wouldn't be unlikely, even Rage's sister liked to converse with mortals. There was something about him, perhaps some strange disposition she couldn't quite put her paw on, no matter, this Shin seemed quite nice, it'd be nice to just have an interesting conversation besides having one with her sister.
Nix could be quite pestering sometimes.
"I'm Rage," no need for the first half today, no need to compliment that half of herself. "You seem so calm, I'm glad for it really," not that he should be calm at all, she gave a smile, everything would be alright with her today indeed.

"Well...yeah, but lions are supposed to have manes, I've never seen one with wings before."
Curiosity had for the moment replaced the usual reluctance to associate with girls, that is until her next words met his ears. He blinked, gazed fixed on hers totally dumbfounded. Was she serious? Who even talked like that? Was she even aware of the words that were coming out of her mouth. Yet more proof that girls were weird, weird and crazy. But maybe they weren't so bad as he had once thought, maybe.
"Nice to meet you." I guess.
That was it, there was no such thing as a 'normal' girl, he was sure of it, may as well accept it, right?

That black goddess watched him and mentally slapped herself across her forehead, how dumb could she really be right? Nix would surely give her a shock if she found out of her dumb actions in a feeble attempt to meet someone new, fate forbid perhaps make a friend. "There are more with wings besides myself, like my sister, she has wings too, gods and goddesses usually have wings, though some do not," she said with a attempt at a smile to try and ease confusion in the air, and in herself.
"You can, call me Ryu...if you'd rather," she flinched internally saying the name, but perhaps it would be best to try and meld with at least the part of the name of herself she was most distressed over time and time again.
"I'm sorry just...a bit nervous I guess," it was obvious she wasn't too great at socializing, "have you lived here long Shin?"
Try to keep the conversation normal...all she could do was try.

"Gods?"
Oh yes, that made perfect sense, of course, how could he have ever doubted, right. The whole world was nuts, so why not, why should he be surprised by anything anymore, whatever.
Though if he thought about it, he supposed it did make sense. If the souls of those before them resided in the stars, then why wouldn't there be gods? There were stranger things right? Was that cubbish curiosity breaking through?
"No, Rage is fine, if that's what you'd prefer to be called."
He watched her a moment, a hint of intrigue and bemusement in his expression. Weird, even for a girl and he had met lots of girls, cute, but weird. Wait, had he just thought of a girl and cute in the same sentence? EWW!
"Yeah, I've always lived here."

The black goddess nodded at him with a smile, some of her fur falling into her view, silver hues watching him, "Gods and goddesses, different ones for different types of deities, like my sister, she's the goddess of lightning, she's around here somewhere, wandering around as wel," she said blinking. Yes, Nix could often wander around trying to find something more interesting to occupy her time. Flicking her tail she watched as he seemed to be amused at her, for being nervous, least someone was thinking of it in a light hearted manner!
"Thank you just, I haven't been used to the first part of my name for quite some time now, and really?" she asked, tone of voice increasing with interest, "I've stopped by ere a few times, know a few others here from returning to visit as I promised, my sister likes i here as well, she'd probably like to meet you as well, you're quite nice," she said with a sincere smile.
So nice to just...speak with another, with no worries.
How long had it been since the last time this was possible?

"Okay."
He had only spoken to keep from not speaking. What was he supposed to say to that? Even if it was true, there really wasn't anything to say to that, not like he'd ever spoken to a god before.
"Is your sister anything like you?"
As if one wasn't enough, he didn't think he could handle two, he couldn't take that much weird and crazy, it might break whatever sanity he had left. He was going to have to spend some serious time with Kiv tormenting their sisters after this just to make up for it all.
Had it been another day, he might have simply shook his head and wandered off, but something held his attention. To be honest, even though she was weird, she wasn't that bad, not nearly so irritating or infuriating as his sisters. But there was something else, something nagging at the back of his mind, what was it?

Ryu'Rage sat on her haunches and let her shoulders relax, her wings falling over her shoulders slightly so they were loose upon her back as to not strain her muscles too much. She smiled, blinked, and tried to put a paw on the words she was trying to get a hold of, "In a way, she is, though honestly, she's much more outgoing, and has an easier time around others, she's very likable though, and loves to play around and have fun."
Flicking her tail she nodded slightly at the end, yes, that was her sister, Nix'Annada alright indeed.
"Oh, and she also has a thing for males and their manes," she said with a laugh, "She finds them, intriguing."
Shin was so nice, so calm, she only wished they had me perhaps earlier, so that she would have had another she could seek out when she had been alone for so long.
"You can meet her, if you like, I can tell her where to look? Only if you want," she said with a smile.
Nix needed to meet others too!

Shin too settled on his haunches, tail flicking at a stray insect disturbed by his movement. He decided it was best to just accept the insanity, no need to fight it or attempt to figure out just what she meant, better to just shake his and nod yes and leave it at that. Why not, life would be much easier that way.
Wait, a thing for males, manes? What the--he felt a flush, his own mane ruffling at those words. A girl that liked boys, he wasn't sure he liked the sound of that, it just wasn't natural and his mind wasn't ready to accept any thought to the contrary. Wait, why had he reacted that way? Why was he even thinking like that? OH GOD! The crazy, it was contagious! He shook his head to clear those thoughts.
"You talk about your sister a lot, why not just talk about yourself?"
Right, change of subject, good idea, he liked that plan.

Ryu'Rage shifted her paws and rubbed them together, looking at the ground, trying to think f something to say about herself, but what would he want to know, there wasn't anything really about her self that she found exciting and awesome, especially when compared to her sister. Nix had so many great things about herself, but what did she have, really?
"I don't know just, guess I can't find anything that might catch the interest of others," she said peering up at him with silver hues, "Never know what to say about myself really."
She figured there was nothing about herself worth while.
The things she had seen and done, should not be spoken of.
