This mountain comes fully equip with a rental chalet at the bottom (where the tab is being footed by a mysterious benefactor), a Ski lift, and a number of hills meant for everything from Tobogganing, to downhill racing on your choice of Ski’s or Snowboard, to back trails for Cross-Country Skiing, Show shoeing, and even Ski-dooing.

Nana walked to the base of the mountain, icy snowflakes scraping against her warm skin. She had nowhere to go, but she figured there should be a cabin somewhere on the mountain. The ski lifts were running just fine, so she managed to pull herself on to one, and it slowly made its way up into the mountains. She tried to look for a small house somewhere, but it was hard to focus. In not too long a time, she thought she noticed a small cabin, and jumped off the lift. The landing, as expected, was not too great. Falling face first in the snow, she hardly had the strength left to push herself off the ground.

What a moron I am. I should have at least brought some descent clothing to this place. How could I have figured that I'd be sheltered 24/7?

After she finally rose from the ground, the wind began to blow harder, so she hurried herself to the cabin that she had noticed earlier. It must have been her lucky day, for someone had left the door open. After letting herself in, she made a fire without any hesitation, and planted herself in front of it. Her frozen fingers ached, but the melted snow soon began to drip off her long golden hair.

Soon her clothes soaked through, and the only thing she could do was grab the closest blanket she could find. Sitting there, she couldn't take her mind off of the events that took place earlier. She had so many questions, but nobody to answer them.

Khane dashed out into the snow, carrying all of his stuff, still in his boxers. The cold was of little concern to him. He looked around. Footprints in the snow leading to the lift, that was going up. He started to Bamf up the mountain, finding a small cabin, with a fire lit, and more footprints leading from the lift to it. He bamfed himself inside and dropped his things.

"Morning."

Nana couldn't comprehend what was going on at first, but when she had managed to turn around she saw Khane standing there, solely in his boxers. Her jaw nearly dropped, but somehow she found herself more happy than scared to be one on one with Khane. She hated the cold and dark, so company was in her best interest.

"Is it really morning already?" She finally said.

"It is somewhere. It's closer to twilight right now. The sun just dropped over the horizon. Anyway, discussing the time of day isn't why I came, Why'd you bail in such a hurry?"

He walked across the room, his feet made no noise on the cabin floor. He got to the fire and hung his gear out to dry, placing his weaponry off to the side he sat down heavily next to the neko. His boxers had formed a little bit of ice on them, from being wet and outside in this weather, but Khane didn't show any outward signs of being cold at all.

Nana studied Khane's half-frozen body carefully. She smirked to herself.

Was he in such a hurry?

She latched on to her hair, and began to play with it, not knowing what to say.

"I was tired, and you seemed bus..." She paused and looked over at him. "That's one of the worst lies I've told. To tell you the truth, I ran out of there as soon as I could when I realized that I'm no match for anyone in that room. It scared me to be so helpless. But you did seem busy with your...whatever that woman is to you."

Before Khane could reply, she got up and grabbed the next closest blanket she could find laying around on one of the couches. It felt warmer, so out of her usual selfishness she felt reluctant to give it to him, but by the time she sat back down by the fire place again she had no other choice.

"Here."

Khane waved the blanket away, sitting instead next to the fireplace, leaning his back on the stones that defined it.

"I'm fine, thanks for the offer though. As for that woman, a one night stand that got out of control. Lies were told, people got hurt, others go unreasonable, I had to disappear for a while. Ah well, live and learn I guess. So what's your story? Everyone who ends up here has some major malady that has befallen them, or some other form of life long complaint. Yours looks like it might be interesting for a change... instead of the usual emo tripe that I get around here."

Nana took the blanket and pressed it against her still wet body. After taking a moment to try and remember the woman's face she began to speak again.

"I feel like I'm disappointing you, but I'm really not as interesting as you think. My main problem is that my aunt's a dirty old hag who took all my money. She kicked me out, claiming that I only brought bad luck into her life from the moment I stepped into her house. I worked my a** off in attempt to leave town. Since the only skill I have is singing, I figured I might as well put this useless thing to work and try to go big. But maybe my aunt is right, and I am the unluckiest person ever, cause the second I raised the money to leave I was found out, and sent here instead."

She lay down, and spread out on her back.

"I honestly felt safer walking the streets back home than here. But I guess I'm good at the moment with muscle-man over there."

She looked over at him and smiled.

"What's your deal?"

Lixini stared at the foot of the mountain, flying around searching for a perch for her transformation. Slowly, her mind set changed to find a small cabin to change in, as she usually was cold during the switch. As she spotted a cabin, her wings angled to dive. She swooped into the cabin quickly, passing just over two people. A bed had been left empty in one room, and she quickly transformed so that the people wouldn't see her.

Khane sighed, stood up, and barred the door to the newly occupied room with a chair, then went back to his spot next to the fireplace.

"Well... Khane isn't my real name. My real name is Project Leviathan. I was created by the Goldwind Company three years ago in a laboratory underneath their headquarters. I escaped when i caught wind that they were going to 'scrap the project, and try again', after having found out that I turned out a little too well. After escaping, I adopted the name Khane, in response to my partner, Abel, who has fallen into the luxurious lifestyle that is managing one of the best weapons ever built. Oh, that reminds me, the Goldwind Company created me in the first place to kill people."

He grinned pleasantly. This would surely explain a lot, but leave the same number of questions lingering in the air. He motioned to his gear.

"Those are the tools of my trade. To fund myself and Abel, I work as an assassin. He picks up the contacts, and gives me the information on the targets, and I make the bad men go away. Before you jump up and start calling me a ruthless killer or a horrible butcher, or a monster, consider first the following. Why did I kill these people, and what did killing them accomplish. The short answer being that I killed them because they had dome something bad enough, or stupid enough, for someone else to dish out the 10 million minimum it takes for me to even look at them, and that killing them, in most cases, has prevented wars, atrocities, and on occasion genocide."

What a mature guy...

Nana was left dumbfounded by the extravagant story. She never could've imagined someone that unique here.

"That's some history you've got." She finally said after reconciling. "I can't imagine having a tough job like that, but I wouldn't call you a ruthless killer either. All though you do have a certain killer streak in your personality."

She sat back up and looked back at the door he just barricaded.

"It's harder to get to know one another than I had expected."

"Eh, When you do something for three years straight, and before that you weren't alive, it's not like it can be just turned off at a moment's notice."

Khane had picked up one of his pistols, the black one, during his previous speech, and was absentmindedly, almost subconsciously, cleaning maintaining it. his hands worked expertly, but his eyes never looked down, never bothered to watch what his hands were up to.

"Besides, life is more fun when everyone is on edge. Don't you agree?"

The last words out of Khane's mouth left Nana laughing, and nearly in tears. She wasn't sure what brought on this laughter, but she making the best of it. Perhaps it was the fact that this conversation had gotten too serious, and she tried to lighten the mood. But it was more likely that she was happy, just sitting there having a meaningful conversation with someone. She hadn't had one for a long time up until that point.

"I do. But shooting a gun isn't how I get my dose of adrenalin. I think I'm more of a hedonistic woman than a warrior."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 09, 2008 3:40 pm

"Ah, hedonism, the greatest word in any given dictionary. Dancing, Wine, Women... or men, be it your preference, I've never been one to judge... Good food and Good spirits, both drinkable and religious, any of that sound good to you?"

Khane flexed his varying muscle, not lifting anything up, just kind of... bulging them, matching the fair sized bulge that never seemed to leave.

"Sounds like my dream life. I was actually pretty upset about having to leave the bar so early. All though all that rum did go to my head."

Maybe that's why I fell off the lift...

Nana blushed at that though. She always tried to be graceful, in fear that if anyone really knew how clumsy she was, they'd treat her like a little child instead of the woman she wanted to become.

She looked outside the frost touched window to see dawn peek out at the world. Just think about the fact that it was so early in the morning made her tired. She yawned, and looked back over at Khane, sitting there, flexing or something of that sort. It was still frightening to her, that someone like him could snatch her life away in a moment. However, she had began to feel rather comfortable in his company.
