So, my birthday is on December 21st. It will be my nineteenth birthday, which is an important birthday up here in Canada, as that is the legal drinking age [as well as for things like credit cards and (guh) tobacco]. My grandparents on my father's side aren't going to be here for it, as they went out "Out West" to Alberta to visit some of their relatives for Christmas. That was disappointing, because they also missed my eighteenth birthday for the same reason, but I could live with it, right?
Every birthday, we do a family celebration, wherein my grandmother from my mom's side, my grandparents from my dad's side, my dad, my mom, my brother, my sister, my sister's friend who is close to us, and me either go out for dinner or have cake at home. I mean, this happens every birthday. When I was younger, we used to celebrate my birthay at the first of the month to give me time to play with birthday toys before Christmas [also less stressful on my mom]. Now that I'm older, we always try to celebrate it on my birthday.
Well, equally every year, my sister has an all-girl christmas party for she and her friends. It starts out at home with snacks and alcohol and [loud] talking, then they all get primped up and go out to the clubs. I'm sure you can see where this is going, correct? She planned it on my birthday.
I am so pissed. Her only excuse is that "she didn't think we were going to be doing anything for her birthday this year". We always do something for birthdays. ALWAYS. Instead of waiting until December 22nd, a Saturday, she put it on my birthday instead. Why didn't she wait until Saturday? Isn't that a better day? People work on Fridays. Why not Saturday?
So not only will my sister not be there, neither will her friend. That means my 'party' is going to be only me, my brother, my parents, and my grandmother. That may sound like quite a few people, but it's not when you think about the two extra missing people. By the time anyone found out about it, she had already started to invite people, including some people from out of town, so it didn't feel right asking her to change the date. I'm not sure she would've even if I had asked.
She hasn't spoken to me about this at all - she hasn't apologized or anything. Her only statement was that if we held the party early enough, maybe she could come. Well, my dad isn't off work until 5pm, and her party starts at 6pm. I don't think that's going to work. She even went so far as to invite me to the party, but only because I can start drinking that day. Then she told my brother he could come if he wanted [even though it's all girls]!
My mom told me I could wait and have my party on Saturday, but I said no. Why should I postpone my nineteenth birthday? That's not fair to me. I've been waiting for this since last June. Also, I need my birthday money to go Christmas shopping on Saturday.
I just don't understand why she would do this. :/ It really makes me unhappy. It feels like I just wasn't important enough to be included in her decision; like my birthday didn't mean anything to her at all. I don't want to talk to her about it, because she takes this really defensive/condecending attitute whenever it comes up. She even had the nerve to ask me to help prepare treats for her party. Of course, I said no.
Siblings suck. crying End rant.

Sometimes there's those kinds of siblings that try to take the attention off another sibling and put it all on themselves. That's normal. That doesn't mean your sister isn't still to blame, because she is. But some siblings really are just -that- selfish. I know how it is =o= My parents didn't spend that much time with me when I was a kid, because my brother always got into trouble and the attention was focused on him, and I was stuck in my room the whole time, all by myself.
But my point is, is that your sister is an inconsiderate...well, you know the next word I'll probably say (give you a hint: It's a bad bad word that means 'female dog' xD!)...
I know how much this means to you, and if there's something any of us could do, please feel free to be spoiled and ask us for anything. ANYTHING.
Though if you ask for a Devil Tail, I can't guarantee that crying But goddammit I'd try my hardest!
<3
Hope this helps <33

@Volly - you don't have to say anything. It's just nice to have people listen, especially when your friends are pretty busy at this time of year. @Asa-chan - I can call you that, right? Cause I have been. Aww, no Devil Tail? How about the Angelic Sash, then? wink I think my sister thinks she and I have a good relationship, but I don't think we did. Her natural personality clashes with mine a lot. This is just one of the bigger times. ;_; If you really want to, I would like to have the December Crown. But only if you really can. Thanks for listening.

Aw. I'm sorry Chibi.
Maybe that's why your sister planned that on your birthday? Since you can legally drink now and all, she thought you would want to go club hopping with her?

You can call me Asa-chan. People called me Sagey alot because of my old account name. It just kinda stuck, and then people called it to me IRL XDDD So whatever you want, really. I don't mind either <33

I don't think so... It's a good suggestion, but her girls party consists of her friends. She's twenty-three, and the youngest of them, so they all range in age from twenty-four to twenty-eight. I only know one or two of them, and there's going to be quite a few girls there. I wouldn't be comfortable in a situation like that, and my sister knows that [or she should]. Besides that, I've been holding off drinking until I was legally allowed to, so I'm not going to rush right out and go club hopping, lol. I don't even know my limits. I'm not a club hopping type of girl, anyway.

*gasp* I'm totally jealous. I quested for an Angelic Scarf for a while before I was scammed, but I secretly wanted the Angelic Sash. Well... I'd be more jealous if you still had it, lol.
Oh, thank you! That's so sweet! And, oh wow, my Secret Santa sent me a gift at the same time, lol. Yay, now I've got two to open! I should wait, but screw that.
I wondered where "Sagey" came from. I should've realized it was from a former account, lol.

=o That sucks. I'm sure she just wants atention though.
My advice would be to... Uh... Well actually I have no idea what you should do. I've never had my own family party without my sister. We were born on the same day, four years apart. I'm the younger one though.
But I hope everything works out for you!

@Asa-chan - I was cheered up until I saw the new cash shop items. Now I'm seized with want for the Let It Snow and Biancamella. Why, such cuteness, WHY!
@Kat - thanks. Indeed they do.
@Taka-chan - Yeah, I suppose she must, although it seems strange for her to go at it in such a round about way. I was thinking perhaps I did something to make her angry, and this is how she's "getting back" at me. The problem is that I really can't do anything. ;-;
