Ichigo found himself flopped on the ground, and his eyes were busy watching the gray strands above him. The day was, as usual, very uneventful, but the stallion wasn't complaining. He did find a comfort in watching the sky, and it was something he had always done in his youth. Today's clouds were moving quickly, and he assumed that the windy atmosphere was making them drift so quickly. The shapes weren't that interesting, but it was to be expected when the clouds were moving so fast. Ichigo wondered if snow was on its way, and he was hoping that his prediction was false. Once the stallion felt satisfied with his laziness, and stood up from the chilly ground and made his way off of the lumpy hill. The area before him was silent, and he smirked slightly before making his way into a fast trot. He let his legs turn into a gallop since the hill's slope was making his speed adjust easily. He continued running even when he was on a more even ground, and he chuckled as he shook his head in a playful manner.

Having spent the majority of her early morning tracking, Rose wandered through the forests. Over wavy hills and crossing insignificant streams. All on the trail of that stallion with the burning eyes.
The trail had soon grown cold. Scrunching up her nose, she pounded a hoof into the ground in frustration. He was toying with her. Normally he would stick to the mountains, but now....now he had started to venture further and further from his home. And who knew now what he was up to.
Nothing good, the mare was sure of that.
The dry grass and leaves beneath her golden and purple hooves crunched and shuffled as she gave up for the day. This little game of cat and mouse had to come to an end sometime. And she would be the one to end it.
The day had turned cold, as many did this time of the season. Skies full of grey clouds settled into the scenery and became part of the everyday picture. But this did change did not stop Rose.
Climbing up a taller hill, she quickly reached the top and stopped. Letting a gentle breeze rustle her long mane and tail. Violet eyes scanning the open expanse of land before her. Taking in a deep breath, she calmed herself for another day of mundane toiling. Not much else to do now but wait and gather one's strength.
She didn't want to end up like she did the last time they had had a confrontation.

Ichigo's nose flared, since he now smelled something, and someone new on the air. He halted himself from his busy run, and looked around at the quiet area. Hm. No one was to be found. How strange! A realization came to his mind, and he slowly looked behind him to see a mare standing on the very hill he ran off of. The mare was new to him, since he had never seen her before.
With a quiet sigh, he wondered if he had been spotted yet, and kept his eyes glued on her next move. Did she see him? Maybe he was blending in nicely with the surroundings? Ichigo found that fact hard to believe, since both horses were surrounded by a musky gray environment. Ichigo's bright orange hair made him pretty obvious as well, and it were petty details that made the stallion laugh to himself.
"Hey you up there, I just used that view, and it wasn't that impressive." The stallion quieted himself after saying what needed to be done, and he swung his tail as a breeze hit his body. Yes.. now he would just wait and see what the mare was up to at this point, and if he should stay or sneak away from her presence.

If another Soquili was not making an obvious effort to be acknowledged or interacted with her, Rose rarely ever payed attention to anyone else around her. Hardly ever wishing to introduce herself to others mundane activities. She had better things to do really besides stop and chat with the nearest person she came across.
Some might of called her antisocial. But she was just careful. Learn too much about someone and you start to acquire feelings for them, compassion. Caring. Someone learn too much about you and they could use it against you once you were weak and vulnerable.
But as soon as the voice spoke out to her, her eyes locked onto the orange haired stallion. He was certainly not your everyday run of the mill Soquili.
Taking in another deep breath, Rose found herself trotting down the hill at a leasurly pace towards him. A cautious eyebrow raised. There was something odd about this one that she couldn't put her finger on.
"What is and is not impressive to one can vary greatly to another. I wasn't up there for the view though. It was just another hill in my path." She stopped only a few paces from him. Her long black tail swaying back and forth as she moved it lightly. As her ears perked, the hairpieces behind them did so as well. In an odd manner really, but it rarely bothered her.
Might as well make small talk anyway. Her scouting for the day was over apparently. "Thats some pretty bright orange hair you've got there...."

Ichigo snorted, before locking his eyes on the mare once again. "Yes, my hair is orange. Thank you for pointing the obvious out!" With a quick jolt of his head, he stomped his hoof on the ground before trying to control himself. His temper was usually rowdy, especially when someone hinted at anything that could bother him. "Is there anything else you would like to analyze about me?" With a raised brow, he shifted his footing before brining his eyes on the mysterious mare.
The mare's words fit her overall image- the way she stood and watched him seemed very precise, and there was a bold air around her. Ichigo wasn't sure if he would enjoy that kind of clash against his, but he decided to contain himself for a moment or so, since he could at least give another a change.
"But anyway.." he then said, with stumbled words, "There are hills that are much more impressive, and they make sky gazing and land gazing more enjoyable. But that one was pretty weak in my opinion, so I was only shouting out my thoughts. I understand that each own has their opinion, but I can't help but share mine." His teeth gritted at the end of his words, and he flicked his tail in a comforting mannerism. "What were you up there for, anyways?" He then said, realizing her words towards the end of his speech.

Rose did not move. She did not even flinch as he stomped his hoof. She had dealt with temperamental stallions before. And even herself, she could admit was a bit temperamental. But this stallion was far beyond intimidating to her. The mare did, though, raise an eyebrow curiously. Wondering just what all the commotion was about anyway. Her eyes lidded in the least bit of amusement. "Yea, you've got an odd smell about you as well...."
An ear twitched as she continued to watch him for just a moment after speaking. He was...curious. To say the least. Perhaps it was his overpowering personality that seemed to ooze from every being of him. He sure didn't try to hide anything.
"Looking. For the next path I might take I suppose. Not much else around here for me to spend my time gawking at." Shifting her weight slightly, she shuffled her hooves against the ground lightly. Giving a quick flick of her long tail, she let out a small sigh. "My name is Rose. And your's?"

His ears lowered instantly, but Ichigo only grinned in an amused manner instead of getting upset. Ah well, he did open himself up for those kind of words, since he was so snappy only a few minutes ago. "Forgive me for my odd stench, m'lady." He could only play along, and chuckle to himself. He didn't think he smelled weird, but if the female was serious, he could only laugh to himself.
His amusement only lasted a few more minutes, and he was once again quiet at the mare's other words. "Ichigo is my name." he then answered, while drifting his eyes. "And I think you will find that a lot of land around here is pretty boring. Its rare to find something to 'gawk' at." Ichigo was never that impressed with the land, "But it depends on your personality, and what you enjoy. Currently you are in an area with lots of land, and few tree clusters. But just up ahead, there are plenty of trees to be found."
It was the only information he could be helpful with, since the female gave off the impression that she had something important to do. Ichigo was almost jealous at that, since he loved being busy. "If you don't mind my curiosity, may I ask what it is you are looking for, or doing? If you are looking for a path, you are surely on your way somewhere, no?" At least Rose had something interesting in his life, so he decided to dwell and question it.

She laughed in slight amusement. No, the stallion did not have an offensive smell, but he did smell odd none the less. "I'll forgive you this time as you did not know I was coming. Next time please try to freshen up a bit."
Giving her long tail a drawn out flick, she let his name run rampant in her mind. Putting into memory the name with the face. "Ichigo...." Her lips held an 'o' shape for a few more spare seconds. "I'd rather be in an open field with no trees where I can keep an eye on my back than in a darkened forest surrounded by trees. When I know what kind of diabolical things lurk in the darkest of shadows. Waiting to rip your throat out the second you let your guard down."
Rose always kept herself busy. If she didn't she would of gone mad by now. Ever restless, if she didn't have anything to do she would find something to do until something came up. "I was hunting down a Kalona. One with firey eyes. If you have seen him do tell me. I have a score to settle...." Dark eyebrows furrowed slightly as she glanced at the ground. If one were to look close enough, you could see a tell tale sign. A light colored mark on her thigh in the forms of teeth marks. "As for looking for a path and going somewhere....I had lost his scent not too long ago. So now I am looking for something to keep myself preoccupied until I come upon his trail once more."

The mare was opening up a bit, and Ichigo could only do the same himself, since it was important to put some effort in. "Well, if you spent your days looking for these diabolical creatures, you'd probably go crazy." With a light smirk, he knew that he was too confident to worry about those little drawbacks of life. "I am always up for a good fight, so if someone wants to attack me, I am usually pleased. Death is just a moment of loss, and if you can be physical enough to avoid it, then so be it."
Ichigo didn't fear much, and he only worried about his own personal strength. He was always aspiring to get stronger, no matter the cost. "A Kalona? Why are you wasting your time hunting down one of those? They never have anything reasonable to say, and they don't even listen when our kind talk." With a snort, he knew that his mind was heating up at the thoughts of the monstrous creatures. "Hopefully you won't get yourself hurt.. you say you are avoiding creatures such as him, but now you tell me you are following him?
You are a complicated mare, Rose!" Ichigo rolled his eyes back onto hers and held a stubborn grin.

"Who's to say I'm not?" A small smirk curled the corner of her mouth as she adjusted her weight again. Letting out a small puff of breath to lift a bit of mane out of her eyes. "Hmmm, so you like to fight do you? Most interesting..."
Her eyes locked with his once more as the smirk diminished. "I have my reasons for tracking down this particular one. I'm not interested in what he has to say or weither or not he listens to me." An eyebrow raised, curiously. Why would be he worried about her getting hurt in the first place. Its not like they knew each other on more than a name to name basis. "I don't understand why you would concern yourself with my safety. I didn't say I was avoiding them. I merely stated that I'd rather be able to see who my attacker was and be able to defend myself on all fronts, not give them the advantage of hiding in the shadows."

Goodness, this mare was complicating! "Well, I didn't say I was concerned," he then said, with a huffy tone. "I was only stating something that was confusing to me. But hey, its your life, do what you want! If you want to carelessly chase a fight down, I am all for that." Pfft, whatever. Rose obviously had her reasons, and Ichigo should just learn to keep to himself!
"But anyway, what if you don't ever find him? Kalonas are tricky like that, and I know from past experience that it can be very hard to hunt someone down. Plus, aren't I stalling you at the moment? What if your prey is constantly moving, and at the moment, we are lazily standing? You are losing many advantages here!" Did she want to stay focused? Or was it just a front to keep her busy? "Like I said, you ARE a complicated mare! But that's alright, its your chase." His smirk returned, and he flicked his tail nonchalantly after he was quiet for a moment. In his own, subtle way, he was trying to give the mare advice, since the advice seemed obvious to him.

Shaking her head, she sighed lightly. Obviously this stallion did not understand a lick of what she was trying to say. How sad. Rose had had more hope for those who dwelled in these lands, but from the obvious stand point of most of them. They'd all rather just live their lives. Deaf and blind to the obvious terrors around them.
"If I don't find him before I die and he is not taken out, then someone else will take my place." Rose gave a small snort in distaste. "Don't tell me what I already know. If you wanted to be helpful and give me advice then give me something I can use. You don't understand the ramifications of letting this one go. Oh no, indeed you do not." She snapped. An icy tone now clung to her voice as her eyes narrowed slightly. "Do you think I am so daft that I do not know where he tends to hang around? Or where he lives? Where he hunts? No, I am not that daft. But there is only so much one can do in a day. Unlike others I AM not some godly Soquili. But I do what I must. If I can get a bit of information out of someone just by talking to them I will stop and smell the roses. But that will not keep me from my ultimate goal."
Her tail snapped quickly in an annoyed fashion. "Do not attack your enemy until you know all that you can about them. Am I suppose to dedicate every waking moment to tracking down this beast? Certainly not. For all I know he could be hunting me and just waiting for the right time to take me out. He can play his little games, but in the end it will ultimately come down to him or me. Who can outlast the other. Plain and simple."

It would be a lie if Ichigo didn't say he wasn't impressed, and with a stubborn flick of his short mane, he eagerly strode a few steps away from the mare. Sheesh. She had told him! Her attitude and quick speech reminded him of an old friend of his, who he desperately searched for in the busy landscape. This mare was only adding to his internal gloom, but Ichigo was able to quickly snap himself out of the negative thought so that he could enjoy the silly conversation some more.
"I will be more careful in my speech, Rose. Your words only prove to me that you are much more intelligent then I made you sound just a moment ago. My apologies." With a light head bow, Ichigo knew that he was stubborn, but this mare was also stubborn, whether she would admit it or not. They were both smart, and passionate on the subject of combat and searching. So either way, he would just be an idiot if he continued to pester her. Especially since, he didn't have the facts straight.
"I am interested to see what will happen when you finally meet up with this beast. Is there a reason you are so passionate on the subject? Or.. is the subject matter too personal to discuss? I understand if it is." Hell, the two horses had probably crossed that border awhile ago, but Ichigo wanted to be careful, since there could have been a history he was not aware of. "What do you plan on doing once you have stopped him?"

Rose closed her eyes. Taking in a deep breath and slowly letting it out. Sometimes her mind and stubbornness got the best of her. And she would go off on tangents. But still, she wanted Ichigo to KNOW she meant business and wasn't just some silly little girl running after a big 'ol monster with no plans.
No, Rose had been planning for quite sometime. And even after the first time she had come across the beast.
Her eyes snapped open as finally her mind felt a bit more peaceful. Ears perking forward just a bit before they relaxed once more. "The reason....he has committed most hainous deeds. Taking the lives of innocents for his own sick perverted fantasies. Plastering his kills like trophies onto walls and inhibiting the safe passage of travelers..." Pausing for a moment, she glanced back at her leg for just a second. Eyes snapping back to him. "And my own personal reasons as well that I'd rather not talk about..."
An eyebrow raised at his last question. "Either dieing from serious injuries or returning home. Whichever comes first."

Ichigo could easily conclude that Rose was completely and utterly serious. She was serious about her plight of getting this monster, and she was serious about all of the things the monster had done. It was that determination that made Ichigo want to respect her, and he lowered his head kindly, before saying, "Well, I wish you the best of luck on these endeavors. This beast sounds like a real b*****d, but your reasons are beyond worthwhile."
The stallion then raised his head, before looking off into the distance. "There are lots of monsters out there, but sometimes one goes out of the way and makes its terrible existence personal. Since you are hopeful, I have no doubt that you will be triumphant. I am sure you are smarter then the idiot, so now I understand your patience from earlier."
Ichigo then fumbled with his teeth, before finally saying, "So for my earlier doubts of rudeness towards your sincerity and motives, I am sorry." Pft, there. He had apologized. It wasn't something Ichigo liked to do, but he was an idiot before, so Rose deserved an apology. He would have wanted the same thing. He then commented, "Don't let him kill you, that's not one of your plans of actions." Nor, should it be!
