 Oh how the season had treated her nicely. First she had celebrated her first birthday, which proved to be very entertaining. Next she had begun to search for holiday gifts for all of the creatures that lived in her house. This in itself would be an accomplishment. There was even a recent flood of creatures called Mimeos and one Pala that now called her home their home too.
Now laying on the floor in the Incense Shop like a good little kyunru, Rhapsody was thinking about if there was anything she was forgetting in regards to gift giving. She had thoughtfully found a shiny piece of foil and attempted to make a button with it. Kyunru paws weren't meant for such craftsmanship. Her bright blue eyes took a look at said paws as if to double check that it was really just kyunru paws rather than the alternative: HER OWN paws. Finding such to be comforting, she couldn't help but wag her big-fluffy tail lazily from side to side.
Now she only had over 100 more presents to go! GO RHAPSODY!!

 Opposite the shop from Rhapsody probably also sat her exact opposite. Unlike the lace winged Kyunru, Sylvera was distant, un-talkative, patient, and perhaps a bit boring. Sylvera, or Vera as she liked to be called by "friends", was in the back playing with her silver ribbon. The ends of it were laced in black, just as her body and parts of her wings were. She let out a heavy sigh, placing it over her cerulean eyes. Oh how she wished that she did not startle others without it.
In the past, she was the most beautiful unicorn in her forest. Sylvera was once loved by all her peers. Until, an evil came to visit, that is...
Now, she was just a lonely old unicorn spirit who had forgotten how to smile...
Somehow, she had heard a noise from the front of the Incense Shop, and wondered what could possibly be in the shop with her. At first, she shrugged. What did she care? Usually, people were scared by her ominous appearance, and those glassy cerulean eyes...
But curiosity got the better of her. Slowly, she began to walk to the front, observing everything she could.

Rhapsody was no find-tuned creature, so she was perfectly ignorant of the fact there were others around. Maybe it was because unicorn Kyunru tended to walk more gracefully and silently, or maybe it was just because she wasn't looking in that particular direction.
The current order of business was to worry about presents for the Mimeos now. Out loud, she began to list out the names of those who she had recently met:
"...MiniMoo, Daikenkai, Fweh, Chawity, Minuet, and Byakko VII..."
MiniMoo reminded her a lot of her owner, so she would get her the exact same thing, which was a small plastic flower. Daikenkai would be more difficult, since she kept thinking it was a girl, but the Mimeo insisted it was a boy. It looked NOTHING like a boy!While its wearer was busy contemplating gifts and the what-not, the pendant which Rhapsody wore somewhat came to life as it did from time to time. Having vague amounts of magic in it, it wasn't as ignorant about the incoming company. Flapping its wings, it began to hoover and seemingly face the direction in which the unicorn spirit was coming in from.

Gracefully, she pranced to the front, where Rhapsody was sitting. She spotted the butterfly around her neck, fluttering toward her direction. However, it seemed to be suck on the chain wrapped around a Kyunru's neck. She eyed them both carefully, looking to see if they both would come her way.
Sylvera noticed that the pastel lace winged Kyun was working on several crafts, some which were interesting. The unicorn spirit wanted to look at what they were closely, but she just did not seem so talkative anymore...

The pendant did not seem to ease up on its fluttering in the unicorn spirit's direction. However, a chain did prevent it from going too far away from its wearer. Even though it couldn't go any further, it still continued to go to the unicorn.Feeling the slight faint tug of her friend on her chain, she couldn't help but look in the direction which she was being pulled. "...what aw you doing, fwend?"
Glancing over towards where the other Kyunru was at, she couldn't help but let out a smile. It was a new friend, yey! With her big grin upon her face, she didn't hesitate to leave her current projects to the side and to trot rather promptly up to the darkly color Kyunru.
"Hewwo thew!!" she greeted, taking in all of the markings of this new other. She had lots of pretty wings, even some on her ears. And a horn too! Not wanting to be rude, though the way she was somewhat childishly gawking could have been seen as such, she introduced herself: "My name is Wapsody!! What's yoh name?"

Sylvera cringed when the pastel colored Kyun smiled at her. It had been a very bright smile, or perhaps it was just that she had not been smiled at in ages. Vera watched as Rhapsody and the enchanted necklace came trotting her way.
"Wapsody", as she called herself, seemed to be an adult, but she had the speech of that of a young child. Vera had to listen in carefully, and sometimes guess what she was saying. Overall, she seemed sweet...and captivated by the darker Kyun.
She tried to smile, but it came out only as a frown. Sylvera sighed, then began to speak softly...almost in an eerie tone of voice. "Hello, Rhapsody. It is my pleasure to meet you." She nodded, eyes glancing down to the pendant. "How....interesting. Have you traveled far to find that?"
Then, she remembered the question. "Pardon my rudeness. My name is Sylvera, but...I can let you call me Vera if that is easier for you."

Oh no!!! This Kyunru's face was broken!!! More specifically, the mouth was broken. Rhapsody's blue eyes blinked a bit at the unicorns mouth. It would take her a moment to realize that she was looking at her friend. Once she figured it out, she shook her head.
"Oh no! My fwend was given to me when I was smahweh!"As if to agree with this, the trinket fluttered up and landed squarely on Sylvera's nose. From there, it just started to fan its wings as if it was really alive.Giggling a bit, Rhapsody had to point out "Fwend wikes you ahweady, Syvewa!" Nodding her head, she then proceeded to explain what she had been doing just then.
"I was wooking on making pwesents foh aww my fwends I wive with! We got a wot of new fwends that wecentwy moved in!! So now I am twying to figyuw out what they might want!!" A small pause.
"Would Syvewa be abew to hewp?!"

"Fwend" was just as pretty, and shiny like Rhapsody. Sylvera wrinkled her nose, not because she was displeased, but because her nose itched when "Fwend" fluttered its wings. Pulling her head away, and quickly tossing it to the side, she let out a loud "A-Ah-ACHOOOO!" She jumped, having not sneezed like that in a long time. Especially not that loudly...
"Oh my, pardon me! My nose is a bit...sensitive. Well, more ticklish than sensitive. Sorry, I didn't mean to be so rude..." She began to blush, but it wasn't that noticeable.
Looking over at the presents Rhapsody was making for family, again Vera tried to smile. Again, she failed. S instead, she simply nodded her head, and walked over to where the other Kyun had been. "Big family, huh?"

Rather suddenly the pendant flew into the air as if it had propelled itself from Sylvera's nose. However, that wasn't exactly intentional. The pendant fluttered its wings and remained hoovering in the air nearby, as if trying to find a new place to rest. It wasn't long before it did find a place. The pendant had to flutter a bit higher than before, but soon enough it was resting on the tip of the unicorn's horn."Bwess you!" the lacewing giggled out for her darker companion's benefit. As Sylvera trotted to her present-pile, Rhapsody trotted along-side, merely to prevent her friend from falling from its resting place again. As they moved to their new location, she reassured the unicorn with a simple "Syvewa wasn't wude! Syvewa's nose tickewed is aww!" Nodding her head and beaming a large smile, she then returned her focus to her pile of presents.
"Yes... I wive with a kyuwia, a kunkun, a pawa, 6 Mimeos, and a wot of othew cweatuhws. My owneh has said she's a Pewsocom... but I don't know what those aw..." Putting a paw down on each item she had already present as presents, she counted them out:
"one, two, thwee, fohw, five... I have five pwesents weady wight now!! I need many, many mohw!!" Even though Christmas was only a few more days away, she didn't seem to really hold any concern in her voice. It was almost as if she knew everything would work out in the end anyways.

Sylver's eyes moved toward the top of her head, watching the butterfly land on top of her horn. She continued to walk forward to the presents, eyes still fixed on the pendant right above a tiny silver ring, almost not noticeable against the white of her horn. Rhapsody had been closely beside her the whole time, probably because the butterfly was still attached to the lavender chain around her neck.
Listening, she took notice that Rhapsody's owner was a Persocom. Sylvera knew what those were, since she had read some books her owner had about them, but the unicorn spirit decided to just let the laced winged kyunru find out on her own. She was not so sure how to really explain it to her in a few sentences, anyway. "You have quite the family," she said, speaking softly. "I myself live with a kun-kun, my owner, and her family. I find it very pleasing, probably because most of the others leave me be." Sylvera shurgged, turning to look at Rhapsody. "That is only because most of them I creep out. The ones that find me pleasing, I also find pleasing." This time, a tiny smile appeared. She had several people in mind, but one seemed to shine through.
Looking over all the presents, Sylvera wondered which present belonged to who. "Which one of these goes to which friend?" Her cerulean eyes (though barely noticeable) bounced back up to the pendant where the magic friend was sitting comfortably. "Any of them go to this little one?"

It would seem as if the pendant had grown quite comfortable, but rather suddenly it just stopped moving and flopped back down along the chain, hanging like a piece of jewelry should.Rhapsody would not notice this for a while. Instead, her eyes caught upon something else.
"Ooooo!!! Syvewa smiled!!!" she announced, yet another big grin upon her face. It was nice knowing that her new "friend" was able to do such. However, she eventually fully took on some of the words after a bit of smiling of her own.
"Cweep out? How would you do that? Thehw isn't anything cweepy about you?" Certainly, the unicorn was pretty and sad, but not creepy. Creepy was like something covered in blood and always wanted to kill you. Rhapsody had yet to really encounter someone like this (or so she believed anyways), so her world was still a very happy place.
Finally she noticed her own jewelry: "Oh, fwend is asweep, so I can teww you which one is foh fwend!!" Out of a pile of two plastic flowers, a shiny "button," a piece of colored yarn, and a piece of colored note-paper, she pointed her little paw towards the yarn. "It is a taiw foh my fwend!! Wike a taiw on a kite!"
Glancing up to Sylvera's veil, she looked to the eyes that were masked behind it to the best of her ability and asked "Does Syvewa want to be my fwend too?" Her big puffy tail began to wag like a puppy who was excited about getting to run about and play.

"Most of the others find me to be a bit...a suppose more spooky than creepy. You know, because my image is dark." She shrugged, as she had earlier. "I like the way I look though, except..." Then she stopped, watching the pendant fall.
Listening to her idea for "fwend," Sylvera nodded. "That sounds very generous of you to do. I am sure your friend will like it. I know I would." Her eyes slowly fell towards the butterfly around Rhapsody's neck.
At first, she did not notice that she was being stared at, because she herself was staring at the lifeless charm that had minutes before been alive. When they rose back, her eyes met Rhapsody's. Vera was caught off guard by the question, but she found herself unable to say no. "Of course. You have been ever so kind to me, the least I can do is repay you by being your new friend." She tried to smile again, but it fell like before.
What could have made her smile before?
"So, what should we make next, and for which friend?"

The part about Sylvera's image being dark seemed to go right over poor Rhapsody's head. Her eyes blinked a bit, not seeming to make the connections which were really being aimed at.
"Oh... it's because you have a bwack peht, wight?" Yeah, that had to be the answer. Sylvera had a black pelt, so others thought of her as "dark" because of it. And maybe because when it was dark outside, things seemed spookier than usual. What silly creatures they were for thinking of such, Rhapsody seemed to reason in her head (not realizing how far off she was).
With that matter sorted out in her head, she listened in just in time. Best news of the day: She had a new friend!! With her tail wagging even more, the lacewing kyunru got so excited that she practically tackled the poor unicorn into a big hug. One would have truly wondered if she was a puppy dog rather than a Kyunru at times.
"Wehw, I was thinking about Daikenkai, because he is funny! He says he is a he, but he weaws cwothing wike a human giwh. He's vewy mean, but I stiww want to get him something!"

Moving on to the gifts, Vera picked up a piece of cloth. Using her paws, she was able to make it look like a miniskirt. "If you know how to sew, maybe you can make a skirt for... Daikenkai." She had hoped that was the right name and right pronunciation, as Sylvera wasn't really listening.
Rhapsody's pendant seemed to come alive again, but only for a moment. Vera eyed it for a bit, overhearing her response to sewing. "I am sorry, I got a bit distracted. Could you repeat that?" She picked up some wire and beads, and began making some earrings.
