Ariathali Moonmeadow
Most recently known simply as "Thistle" Ariathali is an young adult elf. Due to the agelessness of her race not even another elf could tell you her age based on appearance alone. To another elf the fact that she is an adventurer would suggest that she has reached adulthood, and a lack of etherealness indicates that she is still in her prime.¨FN1 Standing at an even five feet in height Ariathali is slender and weighs only 86lbs. While she prefers attire that accentuates, and even shows off, her feminine figure she is slight enough that she has passed—in disguise—as a male with little trouble.¨FN2
Eyes of silver, oddly reminiscent of a full moon, bear a ring of violet-hinted blue.¨FN3 Often pulled away from her face, yet never completely off her face, Ariathali's strawberry-blonde locks reach half way down her back. Notwithstanding the majority of her life has been spent among humans Ariathali has a strong preference for elven raiment¨FN4 preferring attire of browns and greens that do not clash with her hair. She loves clothing adorned with embroidery that reflects nature, be it leaves, flowers, birds, or some other beauty of nature including such things as the sun, or rain. As an elf she judges things more by their beauty than by their worth in gold, but having spent so much time among the humans she has good sense when it comes to an item's monetary value. Ariathali wears a locket that is of great import to her; a special gift from her deceased mother. The fine craftsmanship of the elves has rendered this grape leaf of gold quite realistically. Silver tendrils decorate the cover and work seamlessly into a silver chain from which the locket hangs, near the top and just to the left rests a single, round, grape-red ruby. Ariathali is also know to have a love of circlets, earrings, and armbands,¨FN5 and loves pieces that intertwine silver and gold. Though she is not opposed to typical elf garb,¨FN6 she prefers more elegant attire.¨FN7 [Location—I have yet to place it] sports an odd magical birthmark that resembles the holy symbol of Sehanine Moonbow, and in moonlight reflects the present phase of Oerth's lesser moon, Celene.
A rogue by profession Ariathali is a master of disguise, presently she has adopted the persona of Thistle. This new name brings with it a new look and a number of personality shifts. Inspired by this name Thistle prefers attire in vibrant shades of Thistle greens and purples. Even her brown hair, which on the road she often keeps piled atop her head, was inspired by thistles. By means of magic her eyes are a deep emerald green. Taking up the livelihood of adventuring Thistle prefers typical elf garb,¨FN8 and a [mithral] chain shirt. As an adventurer Thistle generally forgoes jewelry for the sake of adornment and wears items which give her some sort of magical benefit. Her locket is something she is unwilling to part with, yet rather than display it openly she keeps it hidden under clothing. Longsword and longbow are her weapons of choice, yet she always has a dagger or two tucked away on her person just in case.

¨FN1 Elves reach physical maturity at 25 years of age. 110 is standard elf adult age. 175-263 is middle-aged for an elf.
"Elves are blessed with extraordinarily long life spans and a graceful, easy aging process that features none of the ravages of disease, infirmity or atrophy that plague other folk. Time does not even begin to touch and elf until she passes a century and a half in age. For two full human lifetimes, sometimes three, she remains in the bloom of youth, her features indistinguishable from those of a 20-year-old elf girl." —D&D Races of the Wild. pg14
¨FN2 I do not picture as being much larger than an a, or maybe b cup. Do not draw her with large breasts!
¨FN3 If you are not doing a close of up of her eye forget about the violet and make them silver with a blue (hex #004a80) outline that graduates fairly quickly, yet subtly to a silver, around the pupil. Her pupils are a normal black.
¨FN4 "Elves dress in simple, comfortable clothing, though their garb always has an elegance in keeping with their graceful bearing. Linen, silk, cotton, and wool are common fabrics for elven clothing, and elves have developed the skill to spin even the coarsest of natural fibers into incredibly find thread that can be tightly woven to create soft cloth of surprising strength. Leathers and furs are regularly used to endow clothing with strength and protection. Leather is always tanned to a fine, supple texture. Fur provides both warmth and elegance, and the elves incorporate it often into their garb. Soft furs such as rabbit and lynx are preferred over bear and other rougher textured furs. Spider silk, certain mosses, and the fibers of flower stalks are also spun into cloth. Thistledown treated with magic is the material of choice for elven cloaks, though the creation of this cloth is a lengthy process. Occasionally different fibers are woven together to create tactile interest or to combine the characteristics of different materials for practical reasons. Elves make all their own cloth, seeing the textiles of other races as inferior in quality and workmanship. They occasionally trade with human settlements for raw materials, but rarely for finished cloth."
"All elven clothing, weather for important ceremonies or daily wear, is styled for ease of use and movement... Quietness is also a key consideration, so elves avoid garb that makes any more noise than the rustling of leaves."—D&D Races of the Wild. pg7
¨FN5 "Designs are invariably light and airy rather than ostentatious or bulky, and many reflect nature either directly or on in some stylized way. Gold or silver pendants shaped like flowers or birds are common, as are silver circlets whose lines are reminiscent of running water. Gemstones are often incorporated into jewelry designs, usually in a manner that integrates them with the whole of the piece. Huge, barely polished gemstones crudely plunked into hammered gold settings are for humans and dwarves; elves prefer lightness, delicacy, and artistry in their jewelry."—D&D Races of the Wild. pg7
¨FN6 "Typical garb for a member of either gender consists of a tunic and trousers covered by a cloak."—D&D Races of the Wild. pg7
¨FN7 "Elegantly cut robes and gowns are favored by elves attending ceremonial functions and by wizards working within their own homes. Such garb lends itself well to unusual styles and colors as well as adornment. It is often cut to reveal chest, legs or midriff."—D&D Races of the Wild. pg8
