Demand will do that. Especially around the holidays. Look at very in demand concert tickets. I've seen them go in the $1000s. Look how much Hannah Montana tickets were?
We'll see prices go down in auctions when there is more supply available causing less need for inflated auctions. Besides, we don't know if this is including bundles made by people. I can, for example, bundle my Wii and all my games and controllers and sell it on Ebay for a moderate price not including the inflation from demand.

The Wii on its release was $200, now, it's $250.
