lethrossen The young male hummed as he lay near the lake, staring into it. He was usually humming, it had been a habit picked up from all his days being alone. Sometimes the silence of hearing no other wolf for such a long time got to one, so his answer was letting himself listen to his own voice. He wasn't about to speak to himself though, that seemed too insane. So humming had been the answer!
He dipped a paw into the water, splashing a bit as he watched the ripples. This was nice though slightly boring, he wondered how to get things going around there parts. Make stuff happen, get things done. Not like he had any clue what to do or how to do it.
His tail flicked and after a moment he hopped to his feet, stretching and yawning. Better get going. He turned and his gaze flicked over the feild, he hadn't smelt a change in the air around this place for a while which he took as lucky, even if two-legs didn't come near these parts.

felyn Meru sighed as she strutted next to the lake, following the bank with a bit of a frown. She was hoping that it would take her somewhere interesting, but she'd not found a single thing to occupy her time since she started walking. In fact, that seemed to be all she had been doing for the past few days. Walking, walking, walking. Where was the fun at? She huffed and kicked at a small rock that lay across her path, watching it flop into the water with a dull 'thunk". She really was getting agitated.
However, as she walked, her ears began to pick up a small tune. It wasn't anything special, but a tune usually meant life, and maybe it would be another wolf! She picked up her pace, sauntering along the shore carefully, until her eyes met with a large, rusty red male. A grin split her pale mug and her tail set to wagging rather immediately. "That is very pretty," she said with a tone of pure mirth on her voice. She had little concern for her safety and hadn't stopped to think for once that the wolf could be dangerous. Meru just loved everything in general - so why shouldn't everything be the same way?

His noise cut off imediately as he heard the other's voice and he whirled around, fangs bared and fur poofing to make him look larger than he really was. When his eyes landed on the female he quickly relaxed, backing away from her and bowing his head quickly in shame. "You surprised me!" He stated, lifting his head to give her a friendly grin and hoping he hadn't scared her too bad.
He collected his thoughts again, about what she'd said before he turned to 'attack' the 'intruder'. Something about pretty.... oh, his humming? He blinked and his ears twitched. "Oh, thanks. It was nothing.." He breathed, shrugging lightly and feeling a little embaressed. It hadn't been any specific tune, to be honest. "Are you okay?" All of this was said in a rush, as if he wasn't really sure what to be saying first.

felyn As he whirled around so quickly with his fangs bared and his fur bristling, Meru lowered her ears and took a step back. Her eyes seemed, for a few moments, as if they might brim with tears any second - at least, until he stopped looking so mean. She carefully pulled her head back up, taking another step forward, making sure he wasn't going to go off like that again. IT was just too scary the first time! "I didn't mean to surprise you," she said apologetically, giving him a little shake of her head.
"It was too something," she said, her smile coming back to her mug, and her ears perking once again as the mood settled back to normal. "It was very pretty, especially since it's so darn quiet out here and there's nothing else to listen to." She nodded as if it that was simply how it was, as if there was no real reason to question her. It was pretty, and that was that. She blinked as all his words began to rush together then, trying to decipher what in the world he was saying. It was like a big blob of words! "Oh, yes!" she exclaimed finally, realizing what he had asked. "I'm ok, just kind of bored. I suppose I don't really know where I am either, but that's never been much of a problem before. I always end up in lots of different places." She frowned then as she realized she was rambling. She needed to stop doing that.
