Brokenclaw lurked in the shadows. A newly caught mouse still in his mouth. He sat down and quickly devoured it. He brushed dirt over it and started his was up a small tree, crouching on a low branch.

Deventheart padded down from the dark stars and she watched Brokenclaw, waiting for sleep to over come him. She need to talk with him.

As night approached Brokenclaw climbed out of the tree he was in and nestled down in the roots of a tree. He stared up at the sky. 'Why am I like this?' He looked up at an owl and hid deeper in the roots. He soon fell asleep, it washed over him in no time at all.

Deventheart slipped into Brokenclaw's dreams " Hello my sweet" she said affectionatly. " I need to speak with you." she said licking his cheek.

Brokenclaw looked up at his former mate. "Deventheart! What is it?" He got a worried expression on his face.

Deventheat looked into his eyes. " Keep our kits safe until i can manage to get ride of starclan." she said a look of satifaction glistening in her eyes. "The clans will go into chaos when starclan disapears, then you will have the chance to take over. they will need a strong leader and until then keep them safe." she said .

"Just watch them, I will visit them in their rests, to give them knowledge and do my best from the sky, but you must do all you can do from the ground. I beleive you can do it, and dont worry about getting rid of Starclan leave that to Me and Clawclan." Deventheart said. " But stay alive." she said and fadded away.

"I shall have no problem staying alive!" He took in the scent of his mate and layed back down. Clawclaw had Starclan for sure!

Brokenclaw sighed. He stood up and walked over to a border of one of the clans. Cloudclan he believed. He sniffed the air and took a pawstep over it. He was hungry and did not smell any by the tree he was at.

He continued farther into the territory. There was no prey by him but he could tell there was a lot about. He let out a yowl of frustration and continued onward.

Finally he saw a thrush that was soaring a tail-length above the ground. He hid behind a tree though because he could hear pawsteps.

Once they were away he swished his tail. He leaped up and caught a different sparrow that was sleeping in a tree. He got a smug look on his face and padded back to his tree. It was faily large and the branches provided him with a form of comfort. He plopped down in the roots and quickly devoured it. 'I wonder what clans have the most prey...' He hopped into his tree and suddenly wished for the comfort of another cat.
