An Aim RP between DFA and Thal.
Thalion:
It had been a fairly simple catch, Mwali mused to himself as he trodded back through the sands towards their 'den'. The father had been blind, and foolishly put in charge of keeping watch over his large litter. The cub had been farther than the others, lounging on a rock looking out, seemingly lost in his own daydreams. Perhaps pouting, who knew?
The lion had left a few days prior on a hunt, leaving his lioness to watch over their precious young. Precious as they held the future of the entire pride in their claws. Soon he'd have to start refining them into the perfect warriors. Training them from the tender age he had begun his own training under his father. A proud tradition that brought unquestionable results.
Inbetween his teeth dangled a striking blue cub, red eyes wide in terror. Now and then he'd wince in discomfort. Afterall, the firekin would only carry his own young with the tenderness of a parent. Mwali glanced around shortly. Nearby Sinbad was already up and awake, leaning into his hind paw as he scratched at one of his ears.
Not him... strong as he was, he was still far too dependant on the others. A bit of a foolish one... well one bad apple out of the rather large batch wasn't too bad. Still, there was use for him.
The cub was dropped into the sand and pinned down with a heavy paw, releasing a grunt from him. "Sinbad, where the others?" He demanded quietly.
Sin's foot slowed to a stop as he glanced over. "...uh... I think Kenna's awake. The others are with mom."
Dark Fire Angel:
Kenna had been awake; in fact, she'd been sitting a few meters away, behind a bush. Her mother had given her a mouse that morning, more as a toy than as anything resembling food, and the young cub was finding herself entertained by watching it suffer. As her name was spoken, an ear flicked towards the voice, her maw dropping in an instant to end the 'game'. This done, she lifted the now-dead mouse into her jaws and trotted neatly out from behind the bush, red eyes watching their father languidly. Placing the mouse on the floor, for she would NOT eat in a hurry now that the game was over, she placed a paw over her meal, digging her claws into the meat, "You called, father?" her voice was toneless, emotionless - rather eerie for a cub her age.
Thalion:
Kenna... the little girl had somehow worked herself into a softer spot with him. Though, even his 'softer side' was a bit colder than most parents. None the less, he awarded her with a faint smile. "Ah yes, come. I have a new toy for you."
Sinbad got himself up to his paws, walking himself over to look down at what Mwali had brought them. "...ew he's blue."
In response, Zaphod only wrinkled up his nose into a sneering glare, both paws clawing at the sand in a pathetic attempt to escape the large and heavy paw pressing his back to it.
Dark Fire Angel:
"Toy?" A tilt of her head... just the bare-est of movements, seemed to signal her curiosity, and after a moment's thought, she picked up her meal again and neatly moved up to meet her father. As she reached his side, she wrinkled her nose, lowering her head to sniff at the small blue cub; hardly a meal. Surely her father wasn't expecting her to eat it, was he? "Do I have to eat it?" she showed absolutely no repulsion for the idea; indeed, it was obvious that had her father said yes, she'd have instantly attacked and tried to gulp down the blue cub... no doubt eerie to watch, "Or do I just get to play with it?" the cub didn't even have a gnder as far as she was concerned. Yet anyhow. As she spoke, a small smile had graced her maw, making her look innocent, even though it was obvious her thoughts were far from, "Does it have a name?"
Thalion:
"You won't eat it." He said simply, lifting his paw off the cub and settling it down against the sand once more. Zaphod got himself up, coughing a bit and batting at the sand on his nose to rid himself of that as well. "He's your slave. Your very own." He pushed the blue cub towards her, "He's to do whatever you say without question... when I was your age, I sharpened my claws on a few slaves. It taught me early combat and kept them in their place."
"Hey cool!" Sinbad grinned over towards Kenna, both ears perking up, "Lucky."
"I didn't ask his name." He lowered his gaze down to the cub. "Well... if you want to know, ask him. If he doesn't answer, make him." He wanted to see how she'd react to this. While it was a good idea to keep -healthy- slaves, if they proved to be weak then they were replacable enough.
Dark Fire Angel:
She seemed to digest this rather swiftly; as her father spoke, her eyes remain on the smaller blue cub, narrowing with each word the large firekin king uttered, "Lovely," it was a single word; harmless, and yet it seemed to voice out volumes. After a moment's thought, she lifted her mouse by the tail and tossed it to Sinbad, "You can have it," she had something better; it was only right to share with family members. The gesture was barely acknowledged as she padded towards the cub; instead of asking him for a name, she opened her maw into a snarl, mimicing the gestures she'd seen her parents do, time and time again, and ths done, she pounced on the male, forcing her weight on him in an attempt to pin him, her nose pressed to his, "Tell me," she spoke softly, contrasting so with her rough movements, "Who are you?" a pause, "Rather... who do you want to be?"
Thalion:
Zaphod was quite frankly suprised by the female's pounce. His siblings were more gentle, he'd seen them playing but not like this. And at the time he distanced himself from them. They were annoying...loud... but safe. He returned her snarl with one of his own, narrowing his eyes right back on hers. "My name... is Zaphod." He spat back.
Sinbad seemed amused enough with the mouse, pouncing on it and batting it around in the sand. It was dead, yeah, but he could make it move on his own. "Have at thee!"
Dark Fire Angel:
"You didn't answer the other question," she dipped her maw and bit at his maw, nibbling at it, almost as if a threat for him to understand she could do more, "Snarling will not be tolerated; it gets spit on me. It's also not very intelligent, and if you are to be mine you will be bhave with grace. You will act intelligently. You will not snarl when it is obvious you are out of turn and out of place," she sniffed at his pelt and frowned, "And you will be bathed and shall remain fully groomed."
Thalion:
Mwali couldn't help but smile at this. She was learning very well. No tolerence for disrespect, she demanded the answers she wanted and laid down the law. Very good. For the moment, his approval was made known only through a short nod.
Zaphod yelped at the n** at his nose, throwing a paw out to push her away, at least long enough for him to answer. He didn't dare attack her back...not with the adult hovering nearby and his back to the sand. "I don't know! I wanna go home." He answered simply. -who- did he want to be? He wanted to be himself if that was any kind of answer... he had a feeling it wouldn't be good enough for this female.
The order of commands was recieved with a glare. His pelt was dusty from the trip, normally he took pride in his appearence.
Dark Fire Angel:
The paw thrown at her was swiftly met with a paw of her own; the bulk of her body was enoug to hold him. Despite the fact she was a cub too, and a female at that, she was large enought to overpower him, for the time being, "Do not touch me unless I demand you do so; if you disarrange my fur, I'll disarrange your face," the words were said so calmly it was almost as if she were talking about the weather rather than a physical attack "Do not think I am not capable of it, or that I shall regret it either. Do as I say, when I say and you and I shall get along just fine," she took her body off of his and then lifted her paw, licking is clean of whatever dirt she figured she'd placed there in the ordeal, then pauseed, "You ARE home," she said simply. After a pause, she narrowed her eyes, "I want you think over that question, and think carefuly.... and when you are ready, a while from now, a moon from now, moons from now even, I want you to give me the answer," it was a way or reminding him he was hers now and he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Her head then lifted towards her father and offered him a calm smile, "Thank you for the toy, father. I won't break it," yet anyhow.
Thalion:
He glared hard up to the famale, grinding his teeth but was otherwise unresponsive. Even after she let him up the most he did was roll to his belly and glare down at the sand inbetween his paws, claws slowly sinking into the sands as a slight vent to his fruteration. He was home... he'd never heard of the firekin or slaves or any of that so the situation had him more confused than anything.
Both ears pressed back against his skull, eyes slowly moving inbetween the three that gathered. The one they'd called 'Sinbad' was too busy pullling what little meat he could from a mouse. "...fine." He answered eventually. Didn't seem he had a choice in the matter.
Mwali nodded shortly, "Very good. And well handled." He added, "Remember to keep him fed. A dead slave will do you no good." He glanced down to the cub, bearing his teeth as he spoke, "And don't dream of escape... you'd make it perhaps a day before the heat took you... Kenna here is your only saving grace from here on out."
Dark Fire Angel:
"Good," she nodded her head at him, having watched him carefuly; she liked this one. She liked him lots. The fact he had fire in his eyes made him all the better in her own; she'd seen slaves other firekin had. Some like her own still had fire. She'd liked that. Some however... had been so submissive they were hardly living courpses; that wasn't any fun, now was it? Nodding to her father's words, she offered the cub a mild smirk, "You're mine; I will take good care of you. Worry not. I never let my toys go dirty or useless," this said, showing very much the same force, she began to groom him, her tongue passing here and there, her teeth nipping at the dirt that clung to him. As she groomed, she watched her father out the corner of a narrowed red eye, her maw reaching the cub's ear. There, she whispered into it, out of reach of Mwali's own,
"You are lucky regardless..." she whispered, "I am lenient, and do not like to bleed my toys. I am not a masochist, and do not gain pleasure from the pain of others," a pause, "Not too much anyhow, and you will be safe from it anyhow.... had my father given you to one of my other brothers... well..." she paused to pass her tongue between his neck and shoulder before whispering the last few words in his ear, "You'd have last a full moon before they'd ripped you apart... boys will be boys."
Thalion:
Zaphod tensed as she began to groom him, gripping to the sand with his eyes glaring down still. A toy? He didn't like that thought. Toys were bits of twigs and leaves that moved enough to be amusing. Toys were like that mouse over there... He spared the male cub a glance. He didn't seem to be the brightest of individuals in the least... and she was right, he was lucky to have been hers...not that cub's. The notion that he was owned now was strange. No one owned anything where he'd come from. He'd been his father's son, his mother's cub... but not...owned.
At her whispers he couldn't help but glance over, his expression cold still, guarded perhaps. "...then I'll consider myself lucky." He answered, if not a bit sharply.
Mwali nodded and moved himself off once more. As the cubs got older, he tried to distance himself more and more, giving them a chance at independance. They were always within his sight, just in case a rogue or perhaps another kin decided to come a bit too close.
Dark Fire Angel:
"Good," it was repeated again, with a slight nod of her head, her eyes watching as her father padded off a short distance. Unlike most of her siblings, she didn't seem to seek or crave her parents' love. She seemed to accept it the way it was; in a way, Kenna was disturbed. She'd been born disturbed, in more than one way; it was the only explanation for her lack for need of love. In fact, as far as she was concerned, her father loved them. Dearly. He expressed this in the way he thought best, which was by making them strong; worthwhile. She accepted this, and allowed him his space, "You are more than lucky; it's a miracle you're alive. Had my father been in the mood, he'd have killed you, rather than gift you to me," she left the cub alone and groomed herself, her tongue passing methodicaly over her pelt, "Most intruders to the firekin land meet that fate; death."
Thalion:
"Yeah! We see to that." Sinbad looked up from his kill and flashed a toothy grin. "Kenna, Azula, and me will take down anyone that gets in our way." He postured himself as if he was about to pounce, flicking the tip of his tail high above him, "And one day... this will all be ours."
"Fascinating." Was Zaphod's response along with the roll of his eyes. Nope, not a bright one at all. "And in my defense, I was not in your lands. I was with my family."
Though perhaps a small blessing... he had been wanting an 'adventure' though this was far from what he had expected. Seeing as there was little else to do -and it had been an order- he lifted a paw and began grooming out the bits of dirt that Kenna had left. "So..." he glanced up between licks, "What do I call you then?"
"Princess." Sinbad said simply, sitting himself up. "Right? That's what he calls you? I think so..."
Dark Fire Angel:
"Kenna shall do," she nodded her head at him, having ignored most of Sinbad's earlier chatter; or rather, she hadn't ignored it, but instead of answering it, she'd merely tilted her head to one side, minimaly. It was obvious it was hard to gt a reaction of of the large red female, "Father must have been looking for a straying cub then," she seemed to have made sense of this, unemotional eyes leering the sky, as if seeking an answer from the Goddess herself, "You were just the unlucky one to be spotted," a pause as she stared at him, arching a brow; it was obvious why too. He stood out like a sore thumb, "You shall remain by my side at all times; that is an order. At night, when I sleep, when I eat. At all times," her eyes narrowed, "I can not garanteed the safety of that what is mine otherwise. Some of my siblings can be further more rought than I am," she huffed at this; brutes. They needed discipline, some of them. She kept herself to Azula and Sinbad, really. The rest were family, yes, but some needed to be refined, in her eyes, "I do not want a scratch on you. I do not fancy anyone 'sharpening their claws' on you. You're mine."
Thalion:
"No complaints there." He looked down to his own claws, they weren't as sharp as they should have been. It hadn't been a need. His mother did all the hunting, bringing it back dead for them rather than alive and kicking.
Again, he found himself taking a longer look at his surroundings. It was hot, miserably so. Even the ground burned at his pads. No doubt he'd get used to it after a while but it didn't help the fact that it was uncomfortable now... and she'd mentioned others? How many more? A pride or just a family? Either way, he didn't fancy having anyone's claws sharpened on him. "Kenna then." He said at length, glancing her way,"Is there...water?"
Dark Fire Angel:
She seemed to have understood the look, and slowly, her lips curved into a small smirk, a ghost of a smile, "A pride," she told him, "Greatest of all; The kin of fire..." she sneered slightly then, "Or will be the greatest of all when we rid the half blood filth anyhow, but either way..." she sniffed at the air, her whiskers erect as she tilted her head, "Yes," she stood, padding away from the spot they'd been sitting in; there was no need for her to command him to follow her. She'd already iddued the comand for him tos tay at her side at all moments, "We have water. Oasis, mother calls its. Water holes... slaves aren't allowed to drink too much. Beware approaching it without me," a pause, heavy lidded eyes turning towards sinbad, "Are you coming?" unlike the slave, she had asked her brother; it was a clear sign of love. At least from one such as Kenna.
Thalion:
Zaphod got himself up to his paws, padding himself to his new 'mistress's' side. Wheather or not that was 'proper' was up for debate, she had said to stay at her side...not her flank. Not allowed to drink as much? They were used to the heat! Not him. "Ah...understood."
"Yeah!" Sinbad got himself up, bouncing himself over to the two where he puffed out his chest and almost started to strut. "Yeah. We're gonna make sure the pride's back the way it should. Dad said so. They'll learn to fear the firekin again." He chuckled, stretching out his claws for Kenna to inspect, "I got them smooth!"
Dark Fire Angel:
"Good," she drawled, at both the slave and her brother before they stalked on. Ooooh, life was sure as hell looking up for her, "The pride shall in time be restored to it's former glory indeed... we'll see to that."
