I doubt Gaia would hinge a plot on an item like that, but it would be pretty darn exciting.

Now that that's out of the way, I'll make up an exciting plot possibility following this theory.
Perhaps Gambino could get a hold of this technology and use it to go back in time to stop the separation, but that would fail because history works out, like in that horrible movie Time Machine.
Then he would get carried away and go back to stop Vlad from going evil (ironic, I know), but he would fail.
Then he would go back in time to stop the birth of Vlad's children and in the process stop the birth of Gino and the death of that woman (Rose was it?), but she would die in a more tragic way and the children would be born of another mother, or something.
Then it'd go all comic book and Gambino would gather past and future Gambinos to form a super group to ultimately defeat the vampires.

There'd be business Gambino, young ambitious Gambino, modern guilty Gambino, future mech-suit Gambino, Gamgino, and Bizarro Gambino, and perfect heir Gino, and Zombino, and Grombino, and Vambino, and Zurgbino, and, and, and...
Ok, that's all the Gambino spin-offs I can think of.
