Yes Haunted Supermarket.
I am sure the supermarket I work in is haunted. I started thinking this just after I started but put it down to being a new place I didn't know very well but now I've been there about three years and am sure of it.
I can't really say I've noticed any cold spots since I work in the chilliers. But I have noticed over things, for example the back chillier where are stock comes in off the lorry has a very errie atmostphere to it. I don't like going in there alone, when the lights are off it's even worst.
The thing that really set it in my mind was last year about christmas I was putting alway some milk. As I check something I saw someone walk up next to me (in our new uniform that's only been used for about 4 years now). I thought it was one of the boys and looked back to ask what they wanted, no one should have been down there as we were closing up but there was no one there. Their couldn't have run off without me seeing them. So i freaked and left.
The second time something like this happened it happened twince in the same day. While putting something on the shelf I 'saw' something out of the corner of my eye. It was like a white face with black eyes and a wide black mouth. When I saw it I heard something like 'Ahhhhh' and it was gone. I saw it again a couple of hours later and it made the same sort of sound again.
I don't dare ask anyone else if they've had anything like happen to them since I'm kind of worried they'll laugh. But I thought you guys would like it.
Also, anyone got any ideas what it could be? The supermarkets less that 10 years old and all that was there before was un-used grass land.

i have the same problem at my work. your ghost sound like he is the same as mine but with out the large mouth. do you think its a certian kind of spirit

It only seem to appear or be around when the nights get longer. I normally work 12-9pm and in the summer it's never around much or I don't notice it.

Oh I've got an update for you about this. So 23rd (my b-day and I was at work early crying ) I was walking towards the back of the warehouse to get rid of some old cardboard boxes. As I sidestep around one of the stock carts (metal carts about a yard long) I saw something grey out of the corner of my eye, now I though it was one of the night crew guys as I had seen one of them by the warehouse door as I went in dressed in a grey and black hoodie. So I turned around to say 'Good Morning' and he wasn't there. No one was. I looked around, even under the shelves but i was all by myself. There was a single person other that myself in there! It's not like he could of gone back outside as I turned almost as soon as I saw the thing and I could see the doors and they would have been open (they're automatic so if you walk pass them they open). Freak out number one.
The next thing happened on the 24th. It was about 2pm or around that time since I was due to go home at 3.30pm. I was talking to one of the boys I work with and suddenly all the hairs on the back of my head stood on end. I have my hair tied up so it was a really weird feeling. When I said to him about it he said it was weird but he didn't feel anything.
I'm not back to work until Saturday but I'm kind of scared to go back.

I saw something like the black mouthed thing. did the black look like absence of color?
I may have seen something like it, it was just kind of there, for me.

It was just black and I only saw it for a second. When I go into the back chillier and it's emtpy (normally it's filled with stock cages) I get this image of a black shadow in the shape of a man standing by the fire exit (this door is alway locked since it's easier and faster to get out of the main door that the fire exit).

Well, try to check up on the history of the supermarket-maybe there have been some accidents, and the spirits linger there, or something which attracts spirits...
Also, spirits are attracted to magical people, so maybe it´s there because of you and it wants something, like help...

The buildings only about 10 years old and the land it's build on was just unused land/fields. I don't think there's any history to it at all. But I'll look it up. I'm also not a magical person so I don't think that's it.

I would definately do a history check. The building itself might not be haunted but perhaps something like a battle or murder or something like that happened on the land centuries ago. I really can't see any other reason for the manifestation. But the description of the spirit causes the white flag to go up. Something tells me that this is no ordinary spirit...
just a thought.

I know for a fact it wasn't a battle. The County I live is has either been covered y water or used for farming.
But I'll check for violent deaths or murders.

Being a magical person isn´t just about doing rituals or such, you can be a magical person even by being interested in it, or having some "heritage", like being from a family of psions, Otherkin, abilities which you know/ don´t yet know about.
One person told me, that when you believe in the supernatural, or have some abilites, like seeing ghosts which you have, your aura changes somehow and attracts the paranormal-after all, if a ghost would rather trail someone who can see him/her, than one that couldn´t.
So being a magical person is, to what I ´ve gathered, being someone who´s slightly different from the normal population either because of some abilities, or the self. Quite often people who are involved somehow in the supernatural, can recognise each other, there is something which makes them think/feel along the lines, "That person is interesting."
And these are the types of people I would coin magical.
And from what you´ve posted I think you indeed are a magical person. blaugh

I'm a complete idoit. I live down the road from a ruin of a Castle and a Priory, and I don't think there has been any battles. I also completely forgot Boudica, queen of the Iceni people, is said to have lived in one of the villages not far from me (i went once and freaked when I saw someone hanging from a tree. It turned out to be a prop sweatdrop )
So having been an idoit I ask my dad about the area around the Supermarket I work at and what does he tell me? There used to be a fireworks factory where the supermarket is now! Still no idea if anyone died there.
But there was a World War plane that crash somewhere between the village next to mine and the town where I work. However I don't know if anyone died there. I do know that my Grandad and Great- Greatdad were two of the people that helped get the crew out.

Oh hey, mistakes happen! Just because you forget or don´t think about something doesn´t mean you´re an idiot.
So you´ve got plenty of places to do research upon now.
And anyway, during the the time since that patch of land exists, there must have been some deaths there, whether natural or not, especially near a castle. And spirits may sometimes stray, so perhaps the spirit doesn´t neccesarily have to be from the exact area where the supermarket is, it can be from more distant places. blaugh

Thanks Felouen.
Done a little research and nothing really around the land by the supermarket to speak of. The reports don't really say anything about deaths.
But things have quieted down at work. I haven't senced anything in the back chiller (other that being watched when I'm alone in there). And there's be no more shadows out of the corner on my eye. I'm beginning to think this thing only shows up around christmas time.
