A brand new morning and the little orange foal was off like a light. Though he loved his family and especially loved frolicking and prancing with his siblings, too often Althalus managed to get away from their watchful eyes and find himself in trouble. Thankfully he was a bright lad and hadn't yet managed to get himself too lost, but everyday he traveled a little farther, a little faster, and was more and more loathe to run home.

There was too much out there, or so he'd found out. Not once had he managed to find where the sky and land actually touched, not once had he snuck upon the horizon and found the edge of the world. Oh no, the world seemed to go on and on, forever and ever and ever... But that didn't mean the vivacious orange one wasn't prepared to try.

Wild and free, he shot across the plains, careful of the snow. Though the air was cold and frozen, his breath visible as he huffed and puffed, onward he ran. It hadn't snowed in a few days, and the worst of it had melted some which meant there was little ice or snow drifts to get caught in. Grey clouds lined the sky though, and a chill in the breeze seemed to whisper that snow was on its way.

Of course Althalus couldn't know such signs. . . . The sun still peeked out from behind the clouds, lighting the land and his way. He was out to find adventure this day, and he refused to stop until it happened. Who might he run into today? What stranger might he find and new things could he discover? That was the most glorious thing about life, or so Althalus was beginning to discover. New things and adventures awaited every time one woke up and greeted the world. Life seemed to be in a constant state of surprise and wonder, and one constantly learned something new - like how to swim, or not to breathe underwater like a fish, or to not run on ice, or scaring ones sister got you in trouble.

Oh, he was learning he was, day by day, and Althalus ate it up. He wanted to know everything and someday - so long as he got his way - he would.

Not far from the foal ran yet another, and she was slipping and sliding while laughing under her breathe. Due to her easy talking skills, the female convinced her parents to let her roam around by herself, and they once again gave in to her pouty expressions. It was so nice to always win them over, since they never subsided that easily for her brothers! Being a girl had its advantages, all right!

With a triumphant pace forward, the female continued running while quickly flapping her wings. The icy ground made her running faster, and she was pretending that she was flying! The other day she watched her father fly above them, and it was such a beautiful sight! One of her brothers would also have that ability, and she knew that it was possible to soar herself! Even if her mother was afraid to fly, didn't mean that Porsche had to be too! The female wanted to be fearless, and she wanted to make her dreams reality, rather then only think them like her mother did.

As much as Porsche enjoyed having dreams, it was boring to just, let them exist. Her mother had told her that having children and finding Hesperos was a dream that finally came true, and Porsche somewhat understood that concept. When she told her mother she could soon fly when grown, her mother only giggled, saying "That's what dreams are there for, to imagine!" and Porsche only frowned, before responding back, "No, they are there to be conquered!"

Who knew that the black filly and the orange colt had the same kind of thoughts, knowing that everything COULD become possible, especially if tried! Porsche was unaware of this similar colt in front of her, but soon they would clash under the gray atmosphere, opening a new world of adventure and hope! If only Porsche would pay attention, for at the moment she was continuing to slip and slide..

Althalus continued to run over the plains, hopping over snow dunes and doing his best not to get tangled up in the thicker areas of snow. He didn't want to slow down, not at all! The faster he could fly, the better! His imagination was bright, and like Porsche, he could imagine that he was like his brothers and sisters and could fly. With imaginary rainbow wings, just like his papa, he could almost feel the feathers ruffling in lue of the wind. He could feel them flap and his shoulders bunch as muscles worked. A leap here, a leap there, his legs worked frantically to keep him up to speed.

Oh ho - this was the life!

He wasn't necessarily jealous of his brother and sister, but he did sometimes wish he could have had even one wing. Though he'd really never be able to fly if only given one, he could still show it off and flap it. Funny how fate chose two of the four. . . But while Ambroise and Adarna had wings, they were overlooked when it came to looks department. Althalus couldn't help but admire his coat - while most of them were predominantly one shade of colour, he had the widest range and variety of glued to his pelt. From the rich crimson of his mother on his back and legs, to varying shades of orange on the rest of him - he looked just like a sunset!

And who didn't love a good sunset, hmm?

So it worked out well!

He had a bright enough imagination to pretend to fly even if it would never be!

The little one had been bolting up a small hill, and as he reached the beak to the other side, he found himself face to face with a snow mound. Leaping over the sea of snow, oblivious to the fact there was a little filly slipping and sliding on ice before him, the little colt misjudged how long a strip of snow was! His hooves fell through the frozen stuff, but his forward momentum kept him pushing onward. "Ack!" Was about his only warning as he desperately tried to keep himself balanced, lifting his hooves out of the snow frantically in hopes of catching himself and his awkward balance.

But it was too late.

Not only was he now running down the hill - tumbling was more like it - but the few hooves that did manage to hit solid ground found themselves hitting solid ice instead! There was no more chance to redeem his earlier grace - his hooves fell out from under him and he cracked his chin hard on the ice, before tumbling and sliding forward in a heap.

On top of it, he found himself hitting something hard and un-ice like too! Ugh. . . .

By the time the boy came to a stop, his legs were sprawled out before him, and he was stained with ice and snow and more than a few new bruises. His chin throbbed, but otherwise he was still alive.

"Ugh. . . " Maybe he'd take a moment and regain his composure. "That was . . . wicked."

Fun, but painful.

((If you didn't want him running in to her, feel free to ignore the slight pose. ^_^ ))

The colt's movement and timing had not processed in Porsche's mind until she had actually felt a bit of contact. The entire mishap and event felt like a wave of movement, and it was untraceable and uncontrollable! What exactly.. happened?!

Much to the filly's surprise, a bright orange and yellow colt had run into her, and her eyes shook from the sheer shock of the movement! "Wicked.. is a way to put it." When the filly looked back behind where she had slid, she saw pieces of ice scattered about, and a shaping in the ground which looked like her body. Damn. That really was crazy! As much as it was scary, the filly was disappointed in her ability to remember the situation. Something felt exhilarating, and while the female was pondering these things, she turned over to examine this colt who helped create this scene.

Porsche was clearly staring, but she was being friendly with her eyes, while smiling and giggling at moments. It took her a minute to muster up the strength to talk, since the silence wasn't so bad! "Are you alright?" was all she could say, since the boy looked as though he was in a large amount of pain! "I.. I can't believe that just happened, you seem to have taken a much bigger fall.." Poor guy, he had ground and ice all over him. The filly shook her own wings off before batting them on the colt, which then took some of the ice pieces out of his hair. "No reason to have random ice in your hair!" And with a glee, she backed up before shaking herself off once again.

Thank goodness they were both alright.. Porsche seriously needed to be aware when sliding on ice, and she should probably lose the habit completely in the future!

Though his chin throbbed, the little colt found his interest going from the awesomeness of his collapse over to investigating the filly that he had run in to. So that was the odd thing that he'd crashed in to! Boy oh boy was she quite unlike any of his brothers or sisters! Silver eyes danced brightly as he watched her, not quite ready to get up yet. He'd let her untangle herself first before he moved.

As she rose, he took a moment to study her. She was ebony with odd, colourful markings on her legs and chest and face. There was even a little striped horn sticking out of her forehead! He'd never seen one of those before. . . but how cool would that be! She could poke things! Like. . . like his brothers! Oooooh. His imagination flitted off briefly as he imagined the scene, his siblings running in fear because he had a pokey-horned friend!

The girl spoke then, drawing his attention away from the playful torments of his siblings. Was he all right? Oh. . . uh. . . . "Yeah, I'm fine!" He spoke, still a bit breathless from the fall. "That was . . . It just. . . Wow. That's all I can say 'bout it - Wow. I wish I could've seen what it looked like though. . . . Did it look as awesome as it felt?"

Maybe she would know. Part of his logic warned him that if pain meant awesomeness that too much 'awesome' might be a bad thing. But right now, Althalus was indestructible and invincible. There was nothing that could bring him down, nothing that could cause him to retreat or think twice. There was something great about exhilaration and adrenaline, and this little orange colt wanted more.

Before he had a chance to continue, the colt found her hitting him with fragile little wings. Wincing slightly, not at all expecting such a reaction, he blinked as he realized she was helping brush off the snow and ice tangled in to his fur. She even took out some ice form his disheveled bangs! Grinning, he slid to his hooves (quite literally) before following her example and giving himself a good shake.

There - that was better. "I could've kept it as a souvenir," he responded brightly, "But. . . uh. . . It probably would've melted. Bruises are much better!" Or so the colt's logic told him. Getting another good look at her girl, his expression broke in to a wide, delighted grin. "How're you though? I din' mean to crash inta' you," he responded, ears flicking back slightly.

She didn't look hurt, whoever she was, but that didn't mean he hadn't banged her up some. And what about those wings? They looked so fragile - it would be a shame if he'd ripped or torn them!

Next time he fell he'd have to be more careful. "I'm Althalus!" And wasn't he proud of that?

Despite Porsche's appearance, she was quite a daddy's girl. Since she was also an only daughter with two brothers herself, she had no problem playing boyish games, while sometimes ending up a bit hurt. She loved her mother dearly, but she rarely followed her around. She rather, played around with the boys all day! "Thank you for asking but, I am totally fine! I do crazy stuff like this all the time." It was silly how true that was, but the filly saw nothing wrong with being honest! "Just the other day one of my brothers tried tackling me but I pinned him down. Ha, for some reason I am stronger then him, even while being a tad smaller myself!" Though, her brother didn't have the drive she had, and his attitude probably made him easy to defeat.

Sibling clashing was something that she knew about very well, and she wondered if the colt went through the same kind of rivalries. "So, do you have any brothers or sisters? I have two brothers, aand, yeah! They are pretty silly." She chuckled slightly while bringing her bright eyes on the colt again. Questions were flying back and forth, and she was thankful to be in a conversation that was interesting for once!

Shifting back onto the questions of the colt, Porsche then pouted while moving her eyes on the distant scenery. "Sadly, I don't know how cool it looked," Porsche then said, while frowning a bit. "I wish I could recap myself, but I am sure if anyone was watching they would have concluded us crazy! What we were doing WAS kind of rash, but, it WAS fun!" With a bouncy head-shake, the filly was sure her parents would have scolded her or something, and then probably started laughing. "And it is good to hear you like bruises, I am sure when you wake up tomorrow morning, you will have quite a few! How are you going to explain that to your parents?" Porsche found some humor in asking him that, since the colt was energetic and fun enough to play along.

"And oh, I am Porsche! Hi Althalus!" Ah, so the orange pony had a name? Porsche would have to remember this entire experience, so she could rub it in her brother's faces that she met a friend! "Its nice to meet ya!"

It pleased Althalus greatly that the little filly wasn't particularly needy or clingy at this point in time. Not that he'd object to a filly, or anyone's needs, but he was an active little firecracker that preferred to be around those that were just as crazy as he! It wasn't as easy to find like kin as one might imagine. Relief caused his silver eyes to sparkle brighter as she announced that she slipped and slid and was crazy all the time - that was a most excellent response if he did think so himself! Especially since she could pin her brother!

"Ooooh - you're a wild one, aren'tcha?" He asked, ears pricked with interest. Laughing as he imagined whe her brother might and probably didn't look like, he couldn't imagine his sister ever pinning him down! She seemed too gentle. . . Too soft.

"I like to think I'm the strongest outa all my siblings," Althalus chattered, pride lacing his words. He was bigger than Ambroise, and his sister, but only time would tell if that remained true with his final brother. "That's kinda like how my family is. I've only one sister, but two other brothers too! We're always roughin' it up some and adventurin', but. . .uh. . . I don't know if any of 'em have actually made it out of Mom and Pa's side alone. You're actually one of the very first soquili I've bumped into!"

And she seemed awfully fun, which was even better! Althalus had yet to learn much patience at this stage - it was all go, go, gol, advance, advance, conquer. To retreat was unfathomable, to slow down and keep himself restricted was even worse!

The orange coat was a little bummed that she hadn't witnessed his slip'n'slide on the ice. But it didn't keep him down for long, oh no! His mind already made up the decision that us, the world anonymously agreed that their crash had been the most spectacular event in the history of spectacular events!

They were just that good it seemed. Oh yeah.

Grinning, he stomped at the ground and shook out some of his wild mane. "Aww - shucks. My parents would be more shocked if I came home with out a dent to my name! That would really freak 'em out." It was amazing he hadn't broken a bone or wound up dead in the gutter, but he was bright. . . most of the times. Unlike his fearlessness, the boy was taking longer to truly polish his common sense and logic. "Porsche! It's wonderful to have met ya - hey! Hey! We can be friends, right? And if we're friend, you wanna go do something? We can keep slippin' and slidin' here on the ice, or . . or. . or 'splorin or somethin' too!| Whaddya think?" He put on his most charming of smiles, eyes wide and silently pleading for her to agree.

Oh yes - his expressive nature came in mighty handy sometimes. And no, he wasn't too proud to beg.

Yet.

She listened with great interest as the colt spoke about his family, and she was surprised to realize how similar his situation was to hers! "Well yeah, I like to think I am tough! It sounds like you are also tough, so we should get along just fine!" She giggled lightly before brushing some of her mane out of her face. "You are actually the second other Soquili I have met. I tend to sneak away.. a lot." She gave a silly expression before nodding excitedly. "Sometimes I don't run into anyone, though. I just like to get away from my lazy family!"

Her parents were most likely used to her escaping, since they were more relaxed in nature. Her father liked staying by her mother, and her mother liked relaxing most of the time. Her brothers followed what her parents did, but Porsche wouldn't have any of that! She liked to do things her way, since she had the right to that decision. Life was supposed to be fun, or at least, that was Porsche's way of looking at it!

At the colt's next line of comments, Porsche could only smile, while bouncing up and down lightly. "I think you and I could definitely be friends! And I am up for doing anything, I love trying new things, and getting all messy and stuff. I HATE just sitting around, life can't be wasted by doing nothing! If you want to slip and slide some more, that is totally fine with me, but.. I'm not sure I want to get REALLY hurt, but if it happens, it happens." She closed her eyes slightly while giggling to herself again. "We are both pretty messy on the ice, so I wouldn't be surprised if we rammed into each other again." Ah well, it was hilarious when the filly thought about it.

"You want to lead the way, chief? Since you were so kind for inviting me to hang around you?"

Althalus was inordinately pleased at his fortuitous meeting. This little filly seemed to be as wild as him, and just as willing to go out and explore! Though his siblings were awfully fun to romp and tumble 'round with, there was something that drew the little orange one away from the protection of his herd. There was something about the great unknown that he just had to explore, that he had to discover and heaven forbid someone try to stop him. Unlike Porsche, his family wasn't exactly 'lazy' or 'unactive'. . . but the fun and games he was interested in would probably overwhelm his lovely mother!

Yes, Althalus was his father's child through and through - untamed and spirited, he was excited to meet a friend who was just as full of spunk!

Grinning mischievously, the silver eyed colt grinned. His pleasure at finding a new friend absolutely radiated off his persona, and his tail swished happily behind him. "You're absolutely right!" He exclaimed, half rearing before remembering that they stood on ice. His hooves slipped some underneath him, but he leapt on to a small pile of slushy snow, which helped stabalize the little colt. Grinning a lopsided smile, he glanced down at his hooves before looking up at Porsche. "Let's forget the ice and do some explorin'! I'm sure we'll slip and slide more than enough on our way!" He snickered, reaching over to nose the little filly before giving another leap in a random direction.

Chief. . . . Althalus couldn't help but shake out his mane and puff out his chest, proud at his very first nickname. He couldn't wait to tell Ambroise that he was cool enough to have been given a name such as chief. Ears pricked, he glanced over his shoulder at Porsche to make sure she would follow, eyes still bright with delight. "Say. . . uh. . . you like to race any? It's fun in the snow when you kick up all the white stuff, and it'll get us to wherever we're going faster too!"

No, he had absolutely no plan. But a few sprinkles of snow were beginning to fall, and maybe (as they wandered) they could catch the little white fluffy cold bits!

Althalus liked the snow, personally. It was the only weather he'd ever known.

PostPosted: Thu Dec 20, 2007 10:46 pm

"Explorin' sounds good to me!" The filly then added, while moving herself to trail behind her new friend. He seemed utterly pleased at her nickname to him, and that made her giggle to herself. He was so easy to entertain, and it made being around him fun! Positivity was such a nice thing..

At the colt's newest question, Porsche could on pause, while pouting her lip in a deep thought. "Um.. yeah I like racing! But I am not fast at all. I still think its fun though. I don't mind admitting defeat!" With a goofy grin, she nodded enthusiastically to the colt. "If you would like to race and run, I am all for that.. and on that thought.." the filly then bolted past the 'chief ', and made her way in front of him in a silly manner. "Weee let's run!"

She might as well take a head start, since she WAS slower afterall. But she wanted to run because of the newly snow that was falling, and also because she wanted the colt to be happy as well! "Run run run!" she then yelled, while zipping from side to side. Some spots around her were very slippery, but others were just fine! The filly tried to remain as focused and poised as she could, but slipping and sliding was only half of the fun!

"Weee I hope you are enjoying this too! Open you mouth so you can catch the snow on your tongue, it feels soooo cool!" The filly quickly stopped her talking so that she could continue catching snow on her delicate mouth. The game was completely delicious, and yet completely fun! She was keeping herself busy, while forgetting about the 'race' entirely. But ah well, she was too excited about the snow bits to really pay attention to the specifics. Hopefully her friend would forgive her!

Althalus blinked as one moment he had been discussing all the 'splorin that was to be had, and the next the little winged, horned one had taken off like a light! Althalus was fast - the fastest one he knew if he could admit so humbly - but he didn't mind racing anyone. So long as he got to move around and feel the wind against his mane, that was all the crimson haired boy wanted. To be in good company and have fun, that was what life was all about, wasn't it?

"Hey!" He giggled, rearing up before bounding after her. "You got a head start, Lady!" Silver eyes danced as he bounded after her, gasping slightly as his hooves slid on some wet snow before leaping to a patch of dryer ground and following. When she zig-zagged, he followed, though the long legged colt was quick to bridge the distance between them. As she laughed and 'danced' in the snow, Althalus took an opportunity to reach out and playfully tug on her tail.

"Gotcha!" He tagged, leaping to the side and rolling in to a spin on some ice. But as Porsche encouraged him to catch the snow, Althalus couldn't help but listen. Tossing his head back, he stuck out his tongue and danced around, waiting for a flake or two hit the mark. Of course it failed, so he began chomping at the sneaky flakes. A bit here, a bit there, and the colt laughed. "It is pretty tasty!" He admitted, pausing in his dance to admire his coat. The flakes were thick and heavy, and were coming down harder than before.

It was quite a winter wonderland, and he stilled to allow his orange to get softly coated in flakes. They tickled his lashes and nose, and the male studied his breath as it formed puffs of steam. "Didja get some, huh?" He asked, trotting forward, before shaking off right before her. Giggling some, mischievously, he laughed. "If you din' you sure got some now!"

Hopefully she'd forgive him for throwing snow at her. This winter snowfall was wonderful! A shame that the blizzard would only get worse.

PostPosted: Sun Dec 23, 2007 8:37 pm

Porsche was dancing by herself for a few moments, imagining that she was a beautiful ice queen amongst the snow. As the snow hit her sides, she felt as if she was getting stronger, and it was an amazing feeling! Her serene vision snapped and ended all of the sudden, as she heard Althalus talking to her. It appeared that he had also made his way over to where she was! "Hehe, I am glad you are enjoying the falling snow! This snow is new and fresh, so it feels awesome doesn't it?"

Her eyes glittered as she looked up into the sky. It really was funny how everything became quiet when it snowed. Luckily, she and her friend stood out easily against the white, so they wouldn't lose each other in a maze of wind! "The snow seems to be falling more, so you and I are sure to be covered!" Just as she said that, Althalus snuck all of the snow from his body onto hers! Porsche could only laugh at the colt's antics, and with a shake and wiggle of her body, she was free of the mess for a few moments. "Well, this only means that I will have to repay you with some revenge!" And with that, the filly kicked some snow at the orange colt, before darting off in a playful laugh.

It hadn't occurred to her how quickly the snow was falling now, and Porsche stopped herself before looking back to where the other child stood. "Man, is it just me, or did this snow start FALLING. What should we do, chief?" she then beckoned, while shaking a fresh layer of snow off her body. "What if we get buried under this forever? Wah, that would be crazy!" Crazy COOL, in Porsche's mind!

She ran back over to where the colt stood, and hoped he could have a plan of his own. Porsche didn't like worrying, but the weather was starting to become troublesome!

Althalus was having far too good a time with his new friend to worry about the weather. Yes, he knew that blizzards could happen, but those were bac snowfalls! This was nothing but a heavy snow with big, thick snowflakes. They truly were perfect for catching on ones tongue - when they decided to be nice and land!

Chomping on a few more, the sunset colt laughed as the fluttercorn before him sought out her revenge. Find himself with a face full of snow, he reared back and kicked out at the air. Nickering, he chased Porsche as she darted off, ears pricking as she spoke about the falling snow. Bridging the distance between them, he tugged upon her tail playfully, before glancing at the world around them.

The clouds had darkened and taken what was left of the afternoon sun with them. The snow that had started out so beautifully was starting to make seeing the world around them difficult, and the wind was also beginning to pick up in speed. Cold gusts blew against the pair, hissing and spitting, and what had seemed like a fun snow filled afternoon suddenly began to look a bit . . . more. . fierce.

Hmmm.

Althalus wasn't one to worry, but he'd never been caught out in the open when severe weather struck. And honestly, the little one couldn't remember how to get back to his home in the mountains without the visual markers to guide him. A twinge of worry began to process, and Althalus snickered. Dipping his head, silver eyes lit up as his imagination went wild. "We'd be like snow monsters, except we could be nice if'n you wanted to be. Or we'd have to swim in snow to get out, if were trapped forever! Like fish but. . . . in snow instead!" How crazy a concept that would be!

Snow fish soquili - how weird!

Still, it was getting harder to see by the minute, and the temperature was dropping too with a new, much more fierce wind chill. As if to prove it, the wind picked up and blasted the pair, sending drifting snow in to their faces and causing Althalus to have to take a step back to better sturdy himself.

"As fun as snow is, maybe we should go back home? Or at least find a place to lay low for awhile?" His home was rather far away, he wasn't sure where Porsche frequently resided. Still, going somewhere safe was better than getting lost out in the open, especially with the sudden white out conditions.

Fun and games would have to be forgotten as the weather steadily worsened.

PostPosted: Mon Dec 24, 2007 12:32 pm

"Did you know that fish Soquili ACTUALLY exist? Isn't that weird!" With a number of nods, Porsche crept closer to tell the colt of what she knew. "Yeah, there are some fish Soquli in the water, and my mom has met one! She said he was really grumpy, but apparently there are nice ones out there. You have to be careful though, some can be overly dangerous." Porsche DEFINITELY wanted to meet one, for the danger part, and for the adventure!

Porsche REALLY didn't want to go home, and she figured they could wait until the storm subsided to run home anyways. "I say we head over to that clump of trees, and see if we are more hidden in there. The snow is fallen really fast, but at least the wind gusts aren't too bad. My mom says that storms are most fatal when the winds are blowing the snow everywhere.. though.." Porsche then looked at her wings, which were already shaking on her own. "I guess I should have paid more attention, my mom said its really bad when our wings freeze.. so let's get out of this field!"

Porsche couldn't help her recklessness, and rather then worrying about something so silly, she decided to tag Althalus all over again, and run towards the many trees. "Come on, time to run chief!" She knew that the colt loved running, so why not run together, AND avoid this terrible snow?

Porsche let her body zig zag back and forth, and she flapped her wings as quickly as she could to get the blood flowing. Her mother would DEFINITELY yell at her later, since she scolded her awhile ago to stay away from the snow because of flutter wings. Porsche wasn't sure why the cold was so bad for them, but even her father complained about his own wings at certain times. "Weee, running through the snowstorm!" It was as if they were escaping something TRULY dangerous, but Porsche knew it was all in good fun. Hopefully they would find more fun stuff under the many trees!

Althalus was absolutely stunned by the knowledge that fish soquili were real. He'd never heard about them before, much less could imagine what they might look like. "Fish soquili?" He gaped, silver eyes going wide. "Complete with fins and everything?" He wasn't a particularly skeptical soquili, but he had trouble imagining where all the proper fish-parts might go. Still, the little sunset foal made a vow to someday meet one of those fish'uns. Dangerous or not, it would be an incredible adventure! Part of Althalus wanted to run off now and find one of the elusive creatures, but logic reminded him that the lakes were iced over.

Surely, where there were fish-soquili in it or not, they were hidden from the still waters. What a shame.

Thankfully though, he was surrounded by a bright and colourful new friend! The young filly was as energetic as he, and Althalus couldn't be more pleased by the discovery. Maybe they could go adventuring together and find those fish things? Yes - yes of course they would! It would be glorious!

As the snows continued to fall, and the freezing winds pushed against them, Althalus began to lead them towards the clump of trees. Like Porsche, he didn't want to go home or have the afternoon end - not only was he unfamiliar with exactly WHERE his home lay in such weather, but if he went home he would have to leave his friend! And that would not be fun - nope, nope, nope! Besides, a little snow and cold didn't hurt anyone, right?

Right!

Thoughts were interrupted as Porsche suddenly took off like a bolt, and with a laugh he bounded after. "You and your head starts!" He teased, not at all upset. Muscles bunched, the sunshine colt zig zagged after her, watching with curiousity as she flapped her wings. How awesome it must be to have the ability to fly and flutter - her wings were so pretty all black and covered with rainbows. Still, he was concerned for her fragile state of health - the winds were awfully cold, and he'd feel terrible if something happened her wings! Ugh - it would be all his fault, wouldn't it?

Well, soon as they took some cover at least she wouldn't have to worry quite as much. "Watch out of the ice!" He giggled, suddenly picking up his pace and bounding fast, skidding now and then on any hidden layers of frozen slush. "'Specially if yer wings aren't all right!" He glanced over his shoulder at her, hoping that they would be just fine.

Althalus was protective of his friends, and even if there was little he could do to help or war against the elements, and even if they'd only just met, the little lad was concerned. Thankfully though, he held optimism in abundance. They'd both be well and warm soon.
