I've been working on a design for my next belly dancing outfit/costume. I want to make a backless choli, I have some fabric - the kid that stretches only one way, got the pattern, decorations, etc. My problem is this... how will this tiny little top hold my girls up?! LMAO I mean really? I really really really have a hard time seeing how the choli will support my breast. I'm big... not like huge or anything, but since I've had a kid...well..you get the idea.
So my thoughts are... don't make it backless, and wear a bra underneath. Or maybe sew is some of those cup things they put in swimsuits. Those are really the only conclusions I can come to.
But then again, I have seen beautiful dancers with a large top and they wear that backless choli too...
So I'm just not sure what to do... any ideas?

they have bra's that are sticking to the sides. or the nutra bra. its like gel cups that may add a little, but i herd it holds up pretty well, and reuseable i want a pair just so i don't want to deal with under wire or something like... Hanes Strapless, Seamless, Underwire bra

I used the Tribal Dancer Folkwear pattern and it had a nice bit about making the back a little wider at an angle, but ya gotta see it to understand, I can't describe it well enough. I remember a web site with patterns... there it is! Black Swan

There is no reason you can't cut the back lower and attach some ties near the neck. that way you can still wear a good support bra underneath.
